Chapter 799: Chapter 799: In the End, You Still Don’t Trust Me
Fu Xingchuan’s face showed a look of horror, and seeing that Fu Rongyin still hadn’t let go, he hastily looked toward Chi Yue, "Hurry and stop him, I’ve already told you all, can’t you just let me go?"
Chi Yue lifted her eyelids indifferently, "Do you have evidence that it was her doing?"
Before Fu Xingchuan could speak, Lu Nanxi laughed, "Yeah, do you have evidence that it was me? Mr. Fu, be careful not to drag me down with you; I have no backup."
Fu Xingchuan glared at her angrily, "You ungrateful woman! Since that’s how it is, I’m not afraid to say it now, Lu Nanxi, after being discarded by that old man, you come looking for me. Do you think this is a recycling station? Pack up your things and get out, as far away as you can!"
Lu Nanxi’s smile remained unchanged, "Fine, then I’ll leave first."
As she raised her foot to go, her step was forcibly halted, and with eyes narrowed, she looked toward Chi Yue, "Do you have something else to say?"
Chi Yue’s face was cold as frost, "Was it really you? My child has no grudges against you. Why can’t you even spare a child?"
"You believe Fu Xingchuan’s words?" Not sure what she was thinking, she chuckled lightly, "That’s true, he was with you before, and you’d definitely choose to believe him."
Chi Yue’s eyes slightly hardened.
By bringing up the past, Lu Nanxi intended to speak for Fu Rongyin to hear. She didn’t care whether Fu Rongyin would mind or not, she just feared it would lead the two men astray.
Glancing at them from the corner of her eye, she saw that Fu Rongyin’s face was without ripples, while Fu Xingchuan’s fuming expression looked as if someone owed him millions.
"Lu Nanxi, do you want to die?"
Lu Nanxi’s smile intensified, "Angry out of humiliation? It makes sense, being dumped by a married woman isn’t really something to boast about."
"Courting death!" Fu Xingchuan gritted his teeth, pushed Fu Rongyin aside, and lunged at Lu Nanxi, "I, Fu Xingchuan, do not have a habit of not hitting women."
As his words fell, he pounced toward Lu Nanxi.
Chi Yue was closer to Lu Nanxi, and as Lu Nanxi evaded Fu Xingchuan, her survival instinct made her lean towards Chi Yue, who also reacted swiftly and stepped back immediately. But a large hand was quicker than her reaction, pulling her over.
By the time Chi Yue regained her senses, she was already leaning against a familiar embrace; without a change in expression, she pushed away and voiced her thanks calmly.
Meanwhile, Fu Xingchuan had collided with the corner of a table, grimacing in pain, utterly stripped of his usual wasteful image, instead appearing somewhat comical.
Still shaken, Lu Nanxi stood to one side, and only after confirming Fu Xingchuan wouldn’t rush at her again did she turn toward Chi Yue, who was blocking the door.
"Chi Yue, we do share blood ties after all. Will you just stand by and watch me be bullied by him?"
"So you do know that we share blood ties. If that’s the case, why did you go so far against me?"
"In the end, you still don’t believe me but choose to believe him." Lu Nanxi turned her gaze to Fu Rongyin, "Considering Chi Yue’s relationship with Fu Xingchuan, she is not going to trust me. Ah Yin, I’ve done so much for you, you should know my character. How could I do something that harms others and doesn’t benefit me?"
Fu Rongyin stood in front of Chi Yue, his gaze landing on her face, mirroring her indifferent expression incredibly.
Hearing Lu Nanxi’s question, he didn’t even twitch an eyelid, "How am I to know what kind of person you are? As for whether it was you or not, I have my own judgment."
"You..." Lu Nanxi smiled disappointingly, "It seems I’ve overestimated my importance. As I said before, if you want to prove this matter is related to me, then show the evidence. Without evidence, it’s slander. Until you come up with evidence, nobody gets to interfere with my personal freedom."
