It was Zhan Qing’s voice.
Without even turning her head, Chi Yue could guess what Zhan Qing’s expression was like. She closed her eyes, wishing she could faint.
Fu Rongyin had been fine, but seeing Chi Yue’s reaction, he shot a look and said, “Get out.”
Zhan Qing glanced at him and said, “I’m not here for you, where do you want me to go?”
While speaking, he called out to Chi Yue, “My wife is with the kids in the pediatric ward, you can go see her.”
Hearing this, Chi Yue couldn’t care about the awkwardness anymore; she got up and asked him, “What’s wrong with Xiao Bai?”
“The flu, it’s quite severe.”
Chi Yue immediately said, “I’ll go take a look.”
She left promptly, apparently forgetting all about Fu Rongyin, after all, it was Fu Rongyin who had dragged her back.
Upon reaching the children’s ward, Lin Wanyun was surprised to see her, “Is Mianmian sick as well?”
Chi Yue shook her head, “She’s fine. I came over because Zhan Qing said you were here.”
Lin Wanyun was somewhat astonished, “You were in Fu Rongyin’s ward?”
Zhan Qing had told her before he left that he was going to Fu Rongyin’s ward, so Lin Wanyun guessed it right away.
Chi Yue didn’t deny it, “I just had some matters to discuss with him. How is Xiao Bai doing now?”
“Alright, finally fell asleep.”
After being tormented all night, Lin Wanyun’s spirits were not very high.
Chi Yue had faced similar situations but had someone at home to help, so it wasn’t as difficult for her.
Seeing Lin Wanyun yawning several times, Chi Yue didn’t have the heart to disturb her any longer and left after a short conversation.
She didn’t leave directly, but went back to Fu Rongyin’s ward and, as expected, saw that Zhan Qing was still there.
“Your wife is not in good spirits, you would do better to stay with the child and let her rest properly.”
Zhan Qing had wanted to leave for a while, but Fu Rongyin had come up with several reasons to keep him there. Hearing Chi Yue speak up, he got up and left. By the time Fu Rongyin reacted, Zhan Qing was gone.
He had finally managed to keep him around, and she had made him leave as soon as she arrived.

“There are some things I can’t handle on my own, stay and help me.”

“Why should I?” she said.
“You can call him back. If he doesn’t return, you have to take his place.”
“Fu Rongyin, are you being reasonable?”
“I am being reasonable with you,” he replied.
Chi Yue, suppressing her rage, said, “I don’t have time to play with you, I have a lot of things to do.”
She pushed open the door and froze for a moment because, outside, stood a person—it was Zhan Youyou.
Zhan Youyou, looking arrogant, had a look of disdain as she glanced at Chi Yue.
“Haven’t you already filed a lawsuit? How do you still have the face to show up here?”
Chi Yue stepped back into the room, but Zhan Youyou strode in from outside and went to the bedside, speaking with concern, “Sorry I’m late… I shouldn’t have let you come back alone that day. You just wouldn’t listen to me. If I’d known she would be so heartless as to run you over with her car, I should have knocked you out and taken you with me on my business trip.”
Upon hearing this, Chi Yue couldn’t help but scoff.
Zhan Youyou looked at Chi Yue immediately, “Why are you still here?”
Chi Yue glanced dispassionately at Fu Rongyin, “If it wasn’t for him insisting on keeping me here, I wouldn’t want to stay a minute longer.”
She took a step towards the door, but before she could leave the room, she was pulled back.
