Chapter 1765: Chapter 1765: Senior Sister, You’re Not That Kind of Person!
“Brother Lin, I didn’t have the chance to ask earlier, how did you become an Immortal Palace Envoy in the blink of an eye?”
Carson Flores replied, “I am friends with the current Domain Master, Alfred Weaver, so she gave me an Immortal Palace Order. I’m just using it to fake importance.”
Edward Miller laughed and said, “Your actions are truly admirable. Compared to you, I’m just a flower in a greenhouse, hardly experiencing the trials of storms, while you soar like an eagle amidst the tempest.”
Carson Flores chuckled, “Please, don’t flatter me. My abilities are mediocre; I have no choice but to rely on various tricks, or else my little life would have ended long ago. Where are you planning to go now?”
“Just wandering around.”
Edward Miller answered, “This Flying Boat is my cultivation place. Wherever there’s excitement, I go take a look; if not, I focus on practicing. It doesn’t affect me either way.”
Carson Flores nodded, “I have some matters to attend to, so we’ll have to part ways for now. Are you going to the martial arts tournament a few years from now?”
Edward Miller nodded, “I will definitely go.”
Carson Flores smiled, “Alright then, we’ll meet at the martial arts tournament. I’ll be going with the Celestial Palace’s team.”
Edward Miller’s face lit up with joy. After all, it was rare for him to meet someone his age that he admired so much, and he already had to say goodbye. He felt a touch of reluctance.
The Immortal Path is long, and true friends are hard to find.
“Alright, it’s a promise!”
“A promise it is!”
Leaving the Bai Wild Mountain Range, Carson Flores departed from the Star Mist Sword Sect’s Flying Boat and headed to Idle Cloud Manor.
Dominick Schneider noticed Carson Flores’s return, his eyes showing a hint of curiosity.
“You’re back, found it?”
Carson Flores nodded, “By luck, yes.”
Dominick Schneider’s face broke into a smile, “Heaven didn’t forsake you, it seems. Such a rare herb, and you managed to find it.”
Carson Flores replied, “Just lucky… How is she?”
“She’s woken up but is resting in bed.”
Carson Flores felt a sense of joy, followed by some apprehension, as he was facing the Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas, the White Cloth Blood Envoy.
“How much Fire Night Dragon Herb do we need?”
“Five stalks should suffice, but for ongoing recovery, it might be best used as an elixir. A total of ten should do.”
Carson Flores handed ten Fire Night Dragon Herb stalks to Dominick Schneider, leaving about half of the expansive patch remaining.
“Alright, I’ll make the medicine, you go see her.”
“Thank you, senior.”
Carson Flores stepped towards the door of the Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas’ room and gently knocked.
“Come in.”
Carson Flores pushed the door open and entered. The Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas was sitting cross-legged on the bed, seemingly in the middle of cultivation practice to heal.
Compared to when Carson Flores left, the Immortal Monarch’s complexion was much rosier, yet still had a sickly pale hue.
The Immortal Monarch’s gaze was stern, resting on Carson Flores with an air of scrutiny.
Carson Flores smiled and said, “Senior Sister, good to see you’re awake, how are you feeling?”
The Immortal Monarch didn’t answer Carson Flores and asked coldly, “I heard from Jordan Roth that you went to find medicine for me?”
Carson Flores nodded, “Yes.”
The Immortal Monarch’s eyes lit up slightly, “You found it?”
Carson Flores nodded, “With some luck, I did.”
The Immortal Monarch’s demeanor slightly relaxed, though her gaze turned a bit complex, “There are many Demonic Beasts in the Bai Wild Mountain Range. Weren’t you afraid of losing your life?”
Carson Flores grinned broadly, his expression frank, “A cultivator’s life is all about defying the odds, risking their life for each step forward. To improve one’s strength, taking some risks is worthwhile.”
The Immortal Monarch asked, “Because of the promise I made?”
Carson Flores nodded, “Indeed. A master like you might have many ways to advance to True Immortal, but for me, it’s very challenging. This bottleneck is tough to break, and who knows how long I’ll be stuck. It could be a lifetime.”
“Now that the opportunity is here, I had to take the chance. Fortunately, luck was on my side, and I found the Fire Night Dragon Herb. The medicine sage said it could ease your injuries, and with proper recuperation, you should fully recover in time.”
The Immortal Monarch was silent for a few seconds, “You’re quite the daredevil.”
Carson Flores laughed, “When opportunity knocks, you have to take a shot.”
The Immortal Monarch asked, “Aren’t you afraid I’ll go back on my word and kill you afterward? After all, if I did, the promise of advancing to True Immortal would no longer exist.”
Carson Flores shook his head, “Senior Sister, you’re not that kind of person.”
Called her Senior Sister again!
The Immortal Monarch felt a peculiar sensation arise within. The man before her seemed utterly passionate and honest, almost naïve, believing whatever others said—but her intuition told her that wasn’t the case.
This guy was adept at reading others, knew how to seize the moment, and dared to take risks when given a chance. He was an experienced soul!
“Once I recover somewhat, I will fulfill it.”
Carson Flores’s face lit up with a smile, “Thank you, Senior Sister, I wish you a speedy recovery.”
The Immortal Monarch gazed at Carson Flores’s smile, that odd emotion resurfacing in her heart.
She could clearly crush him with ease, and yet, he seemed utterly unafraid?
Was it because he was confident she would keep her promise?
Or was there another reason?
