Eight Difficulties

Chapter 1779: If You Want to Crossdress, That’s Not Impossible!

Chapter 1779: Chapter 1779: If You Want to Crossdress, That’s Not Impossible!

Carson Flores’ eyes lit up.

Previously, he had obtained the Formless Demon Technique in the Barbaric Wilderness Realm. Unfortunately, this cultivation technique could only be used below the level of an Immortal. Once one reached that level, the physical enhancements rendered the technique ineffective in altering appearances freely.

He had been attracting more enemies and killing more people, and the Heavenly Alliance knew him; more and more people were familiar with his appearance. Thus, going out was risky, as he could be easily targeted.

The Celestial Palace was in the open, while the Heavenly Alliance operated in the shadows, which was a disadvantage. If he had a magical treasure to change his appearance, it would be much safer.

"This is a good thing, can it change appearances at will?"

Alfred Weaver shook his head: "This formation merely conceals, creating a visual illusion rather than truly changing your appearance. The Thousand Illusions Medallion has three preset identities you can choose from."

Carson Flores realized it and asked curiously, "Could there be an option for a female countenance?"

Alfred Weaver laughed: "What are you thinking? Julian Roth crafted the Thousand Illusions Medallion with a distinction between males and females. Of course, if you cross-dress, you can use the female medallion."

Carson Flores laughed: "So, you mean it comes with three preset male identities?"

Alfred Weaver nodded: "Yes, they’re a young man, a middle-aged man, and an old man. However, you need to be mindful not to have physical contact with anyone; otherwise, it becomes obvious that what they see and what they feel are different, and your cover will be blown."

Carson Flores nodded to show he understood. With the name "Thousand Illusions Medallion," the emphasis was surely on the "illusion." Clearly, the formation in the medallion was an Illusion Array.

Carson Flores picked up the Thousand Illusions Medallion and sent his Divine Sense inward, quickly understanding how to use it.

The medallion contained three preset appearances: a young man of about twenty-seven or twenty-eight, a middle-aged man of around forty, and an elderly man with silver hair. All were very ordinary-looking, the type you couldn’t pick out in a crowd.

The purpose of using the Thousand Illusions Medallion was to conceal one’s appearance and avoid drawing attention. Therefore, the more ordinary the appearance, the better—ideally forgettable at a glance.

Carson Flores infused Spiritual Energy into the medallion, directing it towards the young man’s formation. The medallion emitted a faint white light, enveloping him.

When the light completely dissipated, Carson Flores appeared entirely different in Alfred Weaver’s eyes, transformed into a common young man in his late twenties.

Alfred Weaver casually conjured a Water Mirror: "Look at yourself. Do you still recognize yourself?"

Carson Flores looked at himself in the Water Mirror, moved his limbs, grinned, and laughed in surprise: "It’s truly amazing. I’ve changed my appearance, and yet it completely matches my actions as if it’s one with me!"

Alfred Weaver replied: "Naturally, if it weren’t realistic, how could it fool others? Not even a Heavenly Immortal can see through this Thousand Illusions Medallion."

Carson Flores laughed: "This is great. It’s far more useful to me than a powerful magical treasure."

After a moment, Carson Flores asked: "I’ve previously practiced cultivation techniques to conceal my strength, but they’re not advanced. Powerful Immortals can still roughly discern my strength. Does the Celestial Palace have any cultivation techniques to hide one’s aura and strength, so advanced that not even Heavenly Immortals can tell?"

Alfred Weaver answered without hesitation: "Of course, there are. Do you intend to use them with the Thousand Illusions Medallion?"

Carson Flores nodded: "In special situations, the disguise must be convincing. I’m planning to visit Dragon Spirit Continent soon; it might come in handy."

Alfred Weaver understood Carson Flores’ aim: "Are you going to seek the Soul Separation Technique?"

Carson Flores nodded: "When I first arrived in the Immortal Domains, I asked the Sect Master of White Crane Immortal Sect. He told me that the Dragon Clan and Human Race have been at war on Dragon Spirit Continent for thousands of years. Traveling alone would be precarious unless one possesses True Immortal strength."

"Now that I’m a True Immortal, I plan to take a look. The Soul Separation Technique is a secret of the Spirit-Separation Sect and won’t be easy to obtain. A little more preparation is always wise."

Alfred Weaver frowned: "The Spirit-Separation Sect is very secretive. I’ve previously sent people to investigate. All I know is that they’re somewhere in the Golden Cloud Desert on Dragon Spirit Continent, but nobody knows the exact location."

"How about I send two Heavenly Immortals with you? Once you find the Spirit-Separation Sect, you can make a deal with them under the Celestial Palace’s auspices?"

Carson Flores hesitated slightly and declined: "No need. I’m used to going solo. Besides, I have the identity of an Immortal Palace Envoy. If it helps, I certainly won’t be shy about using it."

Alfred Weaver, concerned, said: "But Dragon Spirit Continent has been war-torn for years. I’m worried about your safety alone..."

Carson Flores laughed: "What are you worried about? I’ve been chased by Heavenly Immortals numerous times and always come out unscathed. Besides, I’m quite unremarkable; no Heavenly Immortal would bother chasing me just for fun."

Seeing Carson Flores’ determination, Alfred Weaver ultimately gave in but still uneasily advised: "Alright, first find out where the Spirit-Separation Sect is. If you need help, send me a message. Additionally, if you encounter danger among the Dragon Clan, you can seek out Black Dragon King James Stone..."
