Eight Difficulties

Chapter 1776: An Utter Humiliation!

Chapter 1776: Chapter 1776: An Utter Humiliation!

Carson Flores executed the Ground Shrinking Technique and ran at lightning speed!

When he hovered in mid-air to escape the battle tactics, he first caught sight of Maggie Fitzgerald standing beside the Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas, which nearly scared him into turning around and fleeing.

However, if he ran now, the Heavenly Tribulation wouldn’t be completed, resulting in a failed Tribulation Crossing. Although he wouldn’t be harmed, any future attempts at advancement would be practically impossible.

Carson gritted his teeth, turned his back to Maggie and the others, and began his Tribulation Lightning, hoping to muddle through. Yet, in the midst of it, a strike of lightning hit him directly, causing his body to lose balance and his face involuntarily turned towards Maggie.

"Once you complete the advancement, run quickly."

At that anxious moment, the calm voice of the Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas suddenly resonated in Carson’s mind.

Carson’s heart settled!

The Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas is a good person!

It seems she intends to keep her promise thoroughly and let him complete his advancement.

For Carson, that’s more than enough!

He’s run for his life from under the watch of a Heavenly Immortal before, and now, having reached the Initial Stage of True Immortality, he can execute the Ground Shrinking Technique even faster, crossing greater distances!

Time to risk it all!

Lawson Goodwin and Maggie Fitzgerald, like twin rainbows piercing the sun, chased after Carson. Although they kept close, they always fell just a bit short of intercepting him completely.

Carson fled for tens of thousands of miles until he saw a vast and misty lake.

He casually tossed the Palace of Seven Beauties into the lake bottom, then continued forward, escaping hundreds of miles until he dived straight into the lake.

Carson immediately took out the Token and opened the Teleportation Gate.

The Death Imprint concealed all his life energy, and the dense lake water masked the Spiritual Energy fluctuations of the Teleportation Gate.

Maggie and Lawson roared in, suspended in mid-air.

"His presence has vanished!"

Maggie scanned the surroundings with her eyes: "He’s definitely hiding at the lake bottom. Search. Even if you have to rake the ground three feet deep, drag him out. You go ahead!"

The two exchanged a simple dialogue and then split up, their Divine Senses sweeping swiftly forward along the lake like invisible waves.

Carson’s location was behind an underwater mountain, with the Teleportation Gate sticking to the mountain. As long as the person wasn’t directly above this spot, the Divine Sense scanning would undoubtedly be obstructed by the mountain.

Carson wasn’t hoping to remain undiscovered forever; he only needed ten seconds.

The ten seconds passed quickly, and Carson flickered through the Light Gate, instantly entering the Palace of Seven Beauties.

The Light Gate disappeared.

Up in the air, Maggie sensed something and flashed over to the mountain cliff, her Divine Sense scanning the area again.

There was nothing beneath the water, no trace whatsoever.

Maggie frowned, expanding her Divine Sense to search the surrounding area quickly.

Maggie and Lawson thoroughly searched a radius of hundreds of miles without any results.

In a fit of rage, Maggie and Lawson unleashed indiscriminate attacks on this area.

The results were the same.

Lawson looked grim: "It seems he’s used some means to escape, maybe a magical treasure like a Great Displacement Command..."

Maggie was filled with fury, unable to release it. Two Heavenly Immortals pursuing one newly advanced True Immortal, yet he slipped away effortlessly!

It was a complete disgrace!

"Let’s go back!"

Maggie and Lawson returned to the Myriad Snakes Valley with dark expressions, only to find the Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas and the mountain master leisurely drinking tea.

The mountain master turned and smiled: "Where’s the person? Killed?"

Maggie clenched her teeth, her eyes glaring at the Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas: "Ran away, Four Seas, are you happy now?"

The Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas’ tone was calm: "Two Heavenly Immortals chasing one newly advanced True Immortal, and yet he got away. Were you holding back?"

Maggie nearly vomited blood at the Immortal Monarch of the Four Sea’s words!

"If it weren’t for your insistence on letting him complete his advancement, striking him while he was resisting the Heavenly Tribulation, how could he have run? Even if he escaped, cutting off his Tribulation Crossing would have halted his future path. Now he’s advanced, and safely escaped again!"

The Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas responded calmly: "He once saved my life; I had to repay the favor and keep my word. Beyond that, I didn’t stop you from going after him, but not catching a newly advanced True Immortal is on you, isn’t it?"

Maggie felt stifled by the Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas’ words; it was nothing less than a slap in the face!

Maggie gritted her teeth, her gaze landing on the mountain master: "He came here, he will likely leak your information to the Celestial Palace. You might have trouble soon."

The mountain master chuckled: "No big deal, worst case, I’ll change locations. If I want to leave, no one can keep me here. Besides, that kid seems smart enough; he promised not to disclose this place and likely won’t."

Maggie sneered: "You trust the words of an enemy!"

The mountain master laughed: "Fellow Daoist Maggie, is there anything else you came for?"

Maggie naturally understood the mountain master was subtly asking her to leave, glaring angrily at both of them: "That guy is not someone easy to deal with. You’ll regret today’s actions!"
