Chapter 833: An End To It All [Bonus Chapter to Massive Golden Tickets Support]
“My Truth never changes.”
He said, just as his right leg moved and he slammed it before him, both hands folding into fists.
Fallen Apex Energy danced around his fist, the six shards around his head starting to spin faster.
Calm, yet callous, he spoke:
“Anyone who wields killing intent towards me, right or wrong, will die by my hands.” He uttered like a Divine decree.
“Let me warn you, Old Man.”
“If you wish for revenge, then only one of us will walk out alive.”
After that, the void around him quivered as two grimoires appeared, hovering by his shoulders, with one surrounded by Frost energy and the other by Void energy.
But that wasn’t all.
Tiny motes of golden lights suddenly shifted out of the Void, coming to surround Ryuk, and when all of this was completed,
His already insane aura burst through its previous hold, rippling so madly that the world around him lost all of its color, with Ryuk possessing only the color of white.
Time around him seemed to come to a halt, with everything paused in place, but the Grand Elder knew well.
This was an illusion that occurs when a being’s power wave is so powerful that even time itself struggles to hold its primordial restraint upon them.
A power level that was coming to touch upon the boundaries of the heavenly!
But it did not deter him.
His grip on the sword tightened as he prepared to strike, but suddenly his hand began to shake uncontrollably.
His eyes widened to their max a moment later as he sighted something:
Behind Ryuk, there was an entity.
An entity of dark, who hid behind Ryuk’s figure, holding a curved scythe to the side.
BAAAADUUUUMP
BAAADUUUUUMP
BAAADUUUUUMP
Grand Elder Shota had sweat unconsciously dripped down his temples, his eyes remaining locked onto that phantom hiding behind Ryuk.
All of a sudden, the phantom moved its cloaked face, and all Elder Shota saw was a grin.
A grin that revealed a crimson maw, where he could almost hear the various painful cries of souls.
A single word rang in his mind.
“Death!”
Just after it occurred to him, the dark phantom faded away as if it never existed, leaving only Ryuk, who remained where he was, obviously waiting for him to make the first move that would start the death battle.
“He is my Death,”
The vision that was just revealed to him was a unique art of his that activates before any battle.
It has a single purpose: to reveal whether he would live or die in a fight.
If he did not see the death entity, then no matter what, he would not die in that battle.
And in all of his life battles, only twice had he seen the death entity, both opponents of which, even without seeing the death entity, he already knew he had zero chance of surviving deep in his soul.
But, Ryuk?
Ryuk would make the third.
How could he possibly just retreat?
The young man had eliminated all Clan Elders except those being punished or on a mission.
4 Apocrypha stage beings and 6 Exignis stage beings!
A power level that solidified their clan as one of the three most powerful Fallen Families in Ammamora.
And now, their remains lay just a couple of eters away, and he was supposed to back off and let that slide as the clan’s Grand Elder?
His hand gripping his sword handle tightened, but all of a sudden, Ryuk watched as the Old Man rose upright from his slashing position.
He raised his sword into the air, and golden lightning crackled once more before it came down and swallowed the sword in Grand Elder Shota’s hands.
‘The Clan Elders who are already dead are already dead. Fighting with him will only cement my death too.’
‘Even if I succeed in killing him in retaliation, the power of the clan will diminish significantly if I die.’
‘The hundreds of thousands of clan members, and all the resources, will be quickly absorbed by the other families, with many of the clan members killed to ensure loyalty.’
‘If I fight him and die, which I will, the clan loses not just the Elders but everything.’
It occurred to him, and he exhaled deeply, quelling the burning rage of revenge he felt flaming in his heart before saying:
“You Win.”
Without saying any more words, he turned his back and walked towards the place where the remains of the Elders were.
Raising his palm, a draining force appeared, a total of 10 orbs appeared in his hands, each of them sucking at a remnant of the blood, until all the blood was completely sucked into each of the balls.
Then, he gave one last look at Morgaine before he turned his back and walked off.
‘If we only we never tried to even that girl in, perhaps such a calamity would have never fallen on us.’
‘Or perhaps, it is simply the fate of the Dominare Family to really fall out of its hierarchy, and in trying to avoid this absolute fate, we got ourselves even closer to it faster.’
As his back completely disappeared, Grand Elder Shota’s final words reached him.
“Take care of your beloved, Morgaine… for the sake of all of those that have been sacrificed due to her existence.” He said, continuing,
“Take good care of her, and maybe the karma of that will reduce the harsh punishment that has now been ordained for you.”
When he completely disappeared from view, Ryuk deactivated all of his activated techniques while returning his grimoires to his library.
The time naturally resumed after, and color returned to him once more.
‘I thought he would have fought. Who would have thought he would have chosen to retreat,’ Ryuk mused silently to himself, but then shrugged it off, turning to look at the unconscious Morgaine.
He stepped closer to her, crouching when he reached her side.
At this point, the notification panel flashed.
[You dealt great pain, not just physical but also mental, to the consciousness that was possessing her.]
[This will no doubt greatly lessen the power which she had over Morgaine’s own consciousness.]
[I’m sure, once her eyes open up, it will be the real Morgaine that will appear in the Consciousness seat.]
Ryuk hummed under his breath before he picked up Morgaine’s body, and flew into the distance.
In the end, he had completed his True Mission.
[Congratulations on Completing the Quest: Bring an end to all of Chosen Facade Surrounding Morgaine, once and for all!]
