Chapter 1 The Spoils of War

The remaining dungeons were uneventful. Lynn materialized his home and returned to the treehouse to shower, needing to wash off the experience of being wrapped in Luca Jin's tongue.

After his shower, Lynn headed to the tavern to ask his aunt about the spoils she'd obtained from the sacred dragon, Luca Jin’s, black spheres.

Entering the monster space, he walked towards the tavern. As he approached, he saw his aunt and the monster girl, Xiao Na, sorting through items, with several black spheres obtained from Luca Jin nearby.

Lynn eagerly approached, his eyes shining as he looked at the sorted items.

He saw piles of herbs, equipment, weapons, and magic books neatly arranged.

Their quality had also been carefully categorized.

Looking at the piles on the ground, Lynn smiled. He hadn't expected Luca Jin to have such a wealth of possessions.

Seeing three or four unopened spheres and the ongoing inventory, Lynn used Gold Brilliance, preparing to create some gold coins to eat.

Hundreds of gold coins poured out, and after a few dozen more, the remaining coins dropped to the ground with a clatter.

Looking at the coins on the ground, Lynn decided he didn't need them all. He picked up a coin and popped it into his mouth. Mmm, chocolate flavor, very rich, not bad.

Hearing the clatter of gold coins, Hililia looked over and saw Lynn eating them. Watching him stuff coin after coin into his mouth, his expression suggested he was enjoying it.

Hililia stared in disbelief at Lynn, who was happily eating gold coins. What was going on? Had he been possessed by a metallic dragon?

Snapping out of her daze, Hililia frowned and walked towards Lynn, who was still munching on coins.

Seeing his aunt Hililia approaching, Lynn calmly popped another gold coin into his mouth and blinked at her.

Hililia watched him eating the coins and couldn't help but say, "Have you been possessed by a metallic dragon? Why are you eating gold coins?"

"And enjoying it so much?"

Swallowing the gold coin in his mouth, Lynn replied, "Aunt, look at this gold coin. Is there anything different about it?"

Hililia picked one up and examined it. "It's just an ordinary gold coin. What's different?"

Lynn held the coin up to his eye and said, "This isn't an ordinary gold coin. It's an edible gold coin, and it tastes pretty good."

"Aunt, you should try one."

Hililia skeptically took the smallest coin from Lynn's hand and put it in her mouth. At first, it was as hard as a regular coin, but after chewing for a while, hmm? It tasted a bit like strawberry, and the texture was different too. It was actually pretty good.

Hililia picked up a few more coins and examined them. Then she asked, "Where did you get these coins? And how many are there?"

Lynn, with several coins in his mouth, couldn't speak. He silently used Gold Brilliance, and coins immediately poured from his hand, falling to the ground in a torrent.

Xiao Bai, who had appeared unnoticed, caught some of the coins and tried one. After chewing for a moment, her eyes lit up, and she immediately started catching the coins and stuffing them into her Hero's space.

Hililia watched in surprise as the coins kept pouring from his hand, observing for a moment.

Hililia looked at Lynn and said, "These gold coins are more than just tasty. Eating them, I think they can also restore energy, like magical power."

Lynn stopped using Gold Brilliance and said, "Restore energy? Why don't I feel anything after eating so many?"

Hililia rolled her eyes at Lynn and said, "You haven't changed classes yet, so you don't have any energy in your body. That's why the coins don't work for you."

Lynn: "Oh, I see."

Seeing that no more gold coins were falling, Xiao Bai turned her attention to the coins on the ground and started picking them up. She quickly gathered them all.

Xiao Bai picked up a coin as big as her palm, came to Lynn’s feet, and tugged at him. He picked her up, and she saw Lynn put his hand, full of gold coins, in front of her.

Xiao Bai looked at the big coin in her hand, then at the coins in Lynn's hand, and resolutely put the big coin away, happily taking the coins from Lynn's hand and started eating them.

Hililia looked at the monster girls sorting through the items and asked Lynn, "Where did you get these black spheres? Some of them are full of good stuff, but most of them are trash, just shiny things. It feels like a dragon's hoard."

"However, most of the items are pretty good. The magic in some of the magic books is quite powerful, and we found three or four seventh and eighth-tier weapons and equipment, as well as some rare materials and dragonbreath grass."

"So, did you find a dragon's lair?"

Lynn smiled and replied, "Not really. I just ran into that sacred dragon from the beast tide, the one called Luca Jin. I traded him for the gold coins that came out of my Gold Brilliance."

"Hehe, it seems like I made a profit. If I hadn't almost run out of Gold Brilliance, I would have gotten the other half of his black spheres."

"I didn't expect to find so many good things. It's a shame."

Hililia replied, "That dragon? Hmm, I didn't expect to meet him again. What a coincidence."

Seeing that the monster girls had almost finished sorting everything, Hililia told Lynn to get lost, then opened the remaining black spheres, and another pile of items appeared in the same spot.

Looking at his busy aunt, Lynn smiled sheepishly and held Xiao Bai, becoming a gold-coin-eating spectator.

Time passed, and finally, as evening approached, the items from the black spheres were completely sorted. There were more than they had expected.

Next time he met Luca Jin, he would buy everything in its lair.

As night fell, Lynn carried Xiao Bai towards the tavern and went to the bar to ask the monster girl, Xiao Na, to make him a drink.

The monster girl, Xiao Na, slowly prepared a drink for Lynn, then stared at him with resentful eyes.

Lynn took the glass and took a sip, then saw Xiao Na staring at him resentfully.

Putting down his glass, Lynn looked at the monster girl, Xiao Na, and asked, "Uh, what's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Hearing Lynn's words, the monster girl, Xiao Na, came back to her senses and said softly, "Ah, Master Lynn, there were so many items you brought today that we were a little overwhelmed sorting them."

"So, I wasn't really staring at you, Master Lynn."

Lynn rolled his eyes. You're lying through your teeth.
