Chapter 544
“Did you already receive your compensation?” Anton asked Felicity Orwells after the tour of the manor was done.
It was Ronia who answered.
“Yes. Ms. Orwells has already been compensated. It came from the furnishing and decoration budget that you have provided.
“Well, I’m very happy with the job that you’ve done, Ms. Orwells. As a bonus, please receive this health potion. This potion will heal any wounds rapidly. You can apply it to any wounds or drink it.” Anton then gave Felicity Orwells one of his minor health potions.
Ms. Orwells looked excited while looking at the minor health potion that Anton gave her. He had to admit that the bottle alone looked pretty enough to be called a jewel.
“Thank you very much. If you need me for anymore furnishing and decoration services, please don’t hesitate to call on me,” Felicity Orwells said.
“I may take you up on that. My father formed a mercenary group, and more than likely, we will be purchasing a headquarters for the group,” Anton said.
After that, they all went to the dining room to eat the lunch that Ms. Noria prepared. According to Mr. Jenkins, in a typical noble house, dining was a quiet affair. That unspoken rule wasn’t followed anymore, the butler admitted, but Anton’s dining table was noisy, and no one was following any dining etiquette. It was understandable because no one in the group was a noble. Even Anton himself only held the baron title for a year, so he hadn’t truly learn the behavior of a noble since he was the son of a farmer before that.
“Anton, we still have 1000 gold coins left in the budget that you gave us for furnishing the manor,” Ronia told him while they were eating.
“Just hold onto it and use it for emergencies. Like if something was broken and needed to be repaired,” Anton told Ronia.
“Anton, one of the gardeners, proposed to open a flower shop for you. After you left for the dungeon, the garden bloomed on the second day of your absence. Like any garden that produces abundant flowers, it needed to be trimmed to keep it healthy. The problem was that the flowers were very prolific and produced a huge number of flowers. Not only that, according to the gardeners, the flowers that came from the garden wilted extremely slowly. The gardener who proposed the plan said that it was such a waste to just throw the flowers away. He said that not only can he sell the flowers, but he can partner with perfumers to produce the fragrances that come from your flowers. They’re truly magical,” Mr. Jenkins said.
Anton was surprised at the effect of the mana water on the flowers, but he shouldn’t have been. The mana water was one of the best things that came from having the Diablo II system.
“That’s a good idea! I’ll allow it. How much budget does the gardener need to purchase a flower store?” Anton asked Raymond.
“I recommend that you give him 5000 gold coins so he could choose to purchase the store in one of the most well-known markets nearby that catered to perfumes, jewelry, and flowers,” The butler said.
Anton retrieved 5000 gold coins from his inventory. When he had withdrawn his gold coins from his Adventurer Guild bank card, he emptied it. Now his balance in the card was zero, and he had a total of 45,400 coins in his inventory, while the treasure room had 400,000 gold coins.
He gave the coins to Mr. Jenkins, and the butler assured Anton that every purchase would be written down. Anton said he expected that it would be. Even though he didn’t care too much about coins, he still didn’t want to be treated as a fool and would really take action if people deceived him.
“Ronia, I noticed that the lighting in the manor seemed lacking still. Can you purchase more items that I can enchant with light to be distributed in the manor so the place will be well lit? Hey, Ronia, I noticed that your name is very similar to Ms. Noria’s last name.”
Anton's additional comment to his request for items about Ronia’s name made everyone laugh.
“I will go ahead and purchase more of them this afternoon,” Ronia replied.
“Please purchase around 100 of them since I will not be making only light enchanted items. It would be nice if you could purchase more.”
Anton then gave Ronia 1000 gold coins. Since Anton had time inside the dungeon when he was delving the upper floors, like the 30th floor of the Corridors of Amuneta, he could take a few hours creating enchanted items.
Thankfully, Ormunda was so huge that it wouldn’t be a problem for Ronia to acquire hundreds of aesthetically pleasing sculptures that Anton could use for making his enchanted items.
After lunch, Anton returned to his bedroom to write a letter to his sister informing him that their father would arrive in two weeks. While he was composing the letter, Anton did not stop casting his Blizzard spell, which was converted into mana rain, into the gardens. He liked looking at the flowers, and if they bloomed for the whole year, then that would truly be magical.
Anton could see people in the gardens trimming the flowers and noticed that they were not bothered by the rain. He knew that they shouldn’t be because bathing in mana water was a huge benefit for them.
After he was done composing the letter to his sister, he called the butler and told him to send the letter to the academy. Anton didn’t write any letters to his father because he knew that Anders would probably be on the road most of the time until he arrived in Ormunda.
Anton then spent the rest of the afternoon reading his web novel, appreciating the flowers in the garden, and drinking tea and eating snacks that Ms. Noria had provided. Before the sun had set, Mr. Jenkins informed him that Ronia had returned and brought all the things that she had purchased to his workspace.
The butler also brought three letters to Anton, which surprised him. He was amused, though, when he learned that the letters were from Laloniah and her two elven friends, Mierin and Selanor. The three letters were full of pleasant and flowery words, but basically, they were just asking when the next movie viewing would be.
After he read their letters, he wrote one to Laloniah, telling her to tell her friends that his father and his sister would be coming home in two weeks and that there would be a movie showing then. He wrote that he would inform her of the exact date and time for the movie showing.
He gave the letter to Mr. Jenkins to be sent to Elianah. He wanted to make sure that Elianah was aware that her sister and her friends were writing letters to him. Anton knew that if the girls were a little older, he would be annoyed with them, but they were just girls being girls, excited at the prospect of watching films, which was something new to them. The girls were also very pretty, and when Anna returned from school, he would introduce them to her, and maybe they would become friends.
If Anton was being honest, he couldn’t wait for everyone to arrive because it would make the whole manor lively. Not that it wasn’t lively now, since the manor did have a lot of people, but relatives were different from employees. Being from Earth and from a place that was not used to servants, Anton was still hesitant to call the people that he hired servants. Instead, he kept calling them his employees.
