Chapter 558
“Don’t worry too much, Normandy. There are so many rooms in the manor that it’s right for you to occupy one of them. Besides, you’ve been taking care of Luna and Alfred, and they’re my siblings,” Anton said straightforwardly.
Anton was a little surprised at Selena’s siblings’ reactions. Luna cried into her handkerchief, and Alfred suddenly hugged him, and the kid was crying as well.
“Don’t cry, Alfred, Luna. Do you want to rest in your rooms?” Anton asked.
Alfred brushed his face with his arms.
“Thank you for accepting us, Anton.”
“You’re welcome. I’m also planning to hold a memorial for your sister and all the friends that we’ve lost on the ship. Is that okay?” Anton said.
The memorial that he suddenly talked about was an idea that came to Anton while he was thinking about his friends while he was inside the dungeon. He thought that it would be best if they had some sort of closure.
“I would like that as well,” Luna said while still teary-eyed.
“We don’t want to rest yet. Even though our rooms are beautiful, I want to check out this magical mansion! The rooms are cold, even though it’s summer! And there’s magic water coming out of a sculpture in the bathroom! The lights are all magical lights!” Alfred said loudly.
“I would like to see the gardens after this. We can smell the flower wherever we are in the manor,” Luna said.
“Then let’s go to one of the salons overlooking the garden. We can smell the flowers there, and I’ll sing you some songs,” Anton told them, and they all walked to one of the salons that was overlooking the garden.
When they arrived there, Anton saw that there was no one in the garden, so he cast his Blizzard spell, which transformed into Mana Rain, and the sweet smell of the flowers intensified. He then asked Mary to bring them a pot of hot tea.
Anton retrieved his guitar from his inventory and once they were all settled, started singing songs that he had sung the day before. He wasn’t in the mood for belting, and the mellow songs that he sang were relaxing. He sang Rainbow Connection by Kermit the Frog, Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchel, the theme from the anime Mushishi, sung by Ally Kerr, which was the Sore Feet Song, and the song The Wind by Cat Stevens which was the song that was used as a theme in a movie he had seen recently which was Gifted starred by Chris Evans.
After he sang the songs, Anton almost laughed out loud when he saw everyone’s reactions. They were the same, which was open-mouthed astonishment. Even Mary, who quietly arrived and served everyone tea, had the same reaction. Their reaction stroked Anton’s ego. After that, everyone clapped.
“Are you a bard?!” Alfred asked.
The question made Anton laugh.
“No. I’m a mage, but I love singing. I don’t know what Father told you about the films, but I have a window to another dimension, and the movies and the songs that I just sang came from there,” Anton told them.
“The smell of the flowers and your beautiful songs calmed my mind,” Luna said quietly.
“I almost want to sleep,” Alfred added. Normandy and Iris also nodded.
“You know what, I will go ahead and purchase a magic item recorder and record the songs so that you can listen to them anytime you want,” Anton told the kids.
“It would be wonderful to listen to them before sleeping,” Luna said, and Anton smiled at the girl.
After that, Anton told everyone that they should rest in their rooms for the rest of the afternoon, and then someone would call them when dinner time arrived. After dinner, they would then watch a movie.
Alfred jumped excitedly when the boy heard that they would finally watch a movie. According to the kid, he couldn’t wait to watch one since Anders had been talking about them during their journey from New Drennor.
Everyone then left the salon to go to their room to rest. When the sun had set, Mr. Jenkins knocked on his door to inform him that everyone was already in the dining room, so he followed Raymond there.
When he arrived there, the only one who wasn’t there yet was his father, Supreme Munetta. Anton wondered if Raymond timed calling everyone based on their importance and was a little impressed that the butler somehow managed it. After a minute, his father arrived, led by Ronia, then Supreme Munetta, led by Ms. Noria.
There were a lot of people seated at the table, but Anton noticed that not all of the new arrivals were there. It was understandable because even though the table was huge, it would not fit all of them. When Anton discreetly asked Raymond where the others were, the butler informed him that they were in the second dining room.
Anton didn’t even know that there was a second dining room, but he just shrugged. Without further ado, Anders told everyone to start eating, so they did.
“Anton, Anna told me that we’re going to watch a movie after dinner. I would have preferred to talk to you about the manor’s business instead of watching a movie.”
“Father, we can talk about them tomorrow. I promised Anna that we’ll watch a movie tonight,” Anton said to his father.
Anders just sighed and continued eating. After everyone was done eating, they all went to the cinema room.
