150: 150.
Low-profile and restrained 150: 150.
Low-profile and restrained “Number 0’s” speed was so fast that everyone only saw a blur before the white man who had spouted profanity was grabbed by the neck and lifted up.
The man’s face was filled with terror, but his reaction was quick as he immediately drew a tactical knife from his waist and slashed at “Number 0’s” forearm, aiming for the radial artery.
But the blade passed futilely, not even cutting through the suit.
The next second, his eyeballs bulged, his tongue stuck out, and his legs kicked out straight… then, with a “snap,” his head was twisted to the side, and he was dead.
“Number 0’s” power was enough to twist the head off directly, but Lu Li was a low-key person, so he had the Puppet hold back a bit.
Even so, the room instantly fell silent!
Aurora was left staring, dumbfounded, while the 10 mercenaries wearing the same outdoor clothes paused for a few seconds before collectively drawing their guns and yelling at “Number 0”:
“Bastard!
You killed Ryan!”
“You’re dead meat!
Bullet-Proof Suit or not, I’ll blow your brains out!”
The room was filled with the noises of guns being cocked, safeties being released, and bullets being chambered; the situation was escalating rapidly.
It was at this moment that Lady Maria’s voice came from the second floor:
“Cease fire!
Our enemy is the drug lord!”
The lady was descending the stairs with a group of people.
There were four soldiers in camouflage, tall and straight, from the Marine Corps.
There was also a bald black man wearing khaki outdoor clothes, staring unfriendly at Lu Li, the leader of the group from Summer Company.
The Marines sneered at this moment:
“Joey, you’re not going to start a firefight in front of our employer, are you?”
“Summer Company’s mercenaries are getting more ‘professional’ by the day.”
The bald black man named Joey held up a hand, and his subordinates grudgingly holstered their weapons.
Joey glanced at Lu Li and the two Puppet bodyguards in their suits and leather shoes and said in a grave tone,
“It was just verbal provocation, no need to pay with a life.”
Lu Li replied calmly, “Adults must pay the price for their actions, including their words.”
“Very well,” Joey said coldly.
“Once the mission is completed, I will look to resolve this matter on behalf of Summer Company.”
“That’s not out of the question…” Lu Li pondered, “but I despise trouble, and I’d prefer to just kill you all right here.”
As soon as these words fell, the people from Summer Company suddenly felt a chill over their entire body!
Even Aurora and the Marines felt it and couldn’t help but change their complexion:
“This kid… how many has he killed!”
The suppression of this “killing intent,” a type of Life Magnetism, was not unfamiliar to military personnel accustomed to life and death.
Lu Li couldn’t remember how many he had killed, but he knew that the Kunlun Mirror currently held 300 Divine Souls.
When he exhibited hostility, it was enough to send shivers down one’s spine,
especially because he could twist the heads off these people with just a glance.
Even if they resisted, standard firearms couldn’t penetrate the Hive Shield, which was comparable to steel.
In the two or three seconds that Lu Li was considering this, the people from Summer Company were sweating profusely, and even Joey’s hand crept towards his gun.
Luckily, Teresa saw that things were amiss and hurriedly said, “Mr.
Lu Li, please quell your anger.”
As she spoke, she also looked pleadingly at Jessica.
Jessica, being naturally kind-hearted, said, persuaded by her good friend’s face:
“Lu Li, we are guests, and guests shouldn’t cause trouble for the host.”
“Guests shouldn’t cause trouble for the host…”
Lu Li smiled and gave a nod to Lady Maria: “I apologize, I was rude.”
At that moment, the tension in the room dissipated, and everyone let out a sigh of relief.
Maria’s smile remained intact as she said, “There’s a rally tonight at 8 o’clock, and I’ll be counting on you then.”
“Rest assured, I will ensure your safety.”
“Thank you, I have full confidence in that!”
Lady Maria was very satisfied.
Summer Security Company was an internationally renowned private military contractor, staffed exclusively with elite soldiers with extensive combat experience.
Yet, they were effortlessly overpowered by Lu Li, which proved her judgment correct—this was precisely the missing piece of the puzzle she needed!
~~~~~~~~~~~
A storm, stirred up by provocative words, quickly subsided.
The people from Summer Company hurried to the rally site to survey the area, looking somewhat disheveled.
Meanwhile, Aurora approached with a rugged sergeant and introduced him:
“This is First Lieutenant Reyes from the Marine Corps.”
First Lieutenant Reyes extended his hand to Lu Li and said with a smile,
“Hello, fierce young man.
I came specifically to thank you for giving those vampires a good thrashing.”
Aurora explained: “The private armed services provided by Summer Company come with many political strings attached.”
Lu Li nodded, understanding that there’s no such thing as a free lunch, which was only fair.
First Lieutenant Reyes went on to say:
“Be careful of the vampires’ retaliation.
They are not soldiers, but a bunch of cowards who dare only wear ‘outdoor clothes.'”
Not wearing camouflage but outdoor clothes meant they could claim to be civilians if their operations failed, which naturally disgusted real soldiers.
After reminding Lu Li, the lieutenant hurried back to Lady Maria’s side.
Lady Maria obviously trusted the Marine Corps more and always had them close for protection.
Aurora checked the time on her phone and said:
“We should set off too.
Speaking of which, you didn’t bring any equipment?
And what about your positioning…”
Lu Li cut her off: “Give me a pistol with a suppressor, the quieter the better.
I will act as a free agent, eliminating those with malicious intent in advance.”
Aurora hurriedly said: “The rally site is in the city center square, with tens of thousands of attendees!
Shooting into the crowd will cause a huge disturbance!”
Lu Li assured her firmly, “Trust me, I can do it.
When the time comes, you just need to quietly remove the bodies.”
Aurora opened her mouth as if to speak but, thinking of this man’s miraculous…
or rather, terrifying capabilities, ultimately said nothing more.
She turned to leave and not long after, brought him a P226 nine-millimeter handgun with a suppressor.
Lu Li pulled back the slide to check it, then tucked it into his waistband.
Using this thing was just to avoid drawing attention.
After all, there were still things that needed explaining when it came to gun skills…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The rally began at 8 pm, and Lu Li arrived on time with the convoy at 7:45.
The venue was already packed with tens of thousands of supporters, waving banners and cheering enthusiastically for Lady Maria’s arrival.
The professionals from Summer Company did have their merits, having set up control over the area in advance.
Amidst the tumultuous cheers, the lady ascended the stage, with four Marines following closely behind her.
[Thank you!
I am deeply grateful for your presence!
Sorry to keep you waiting!]
The speech began, with people below the stage periodically waving their arms and shouting.
The chaos of the scene was the perfect opportunity for an assassination.
Standing next to the stage, earphone in place, Lu Li’s Spirit spread like a web, casting every detail sharply into his mind.
“Ah, there’s more than one assassin.”
Under the influence of the Spirit, three Big men mingled in the fervent crowd, reaching into their jackets…
