False Court
Chapter 15 Waiting
Su Mo replied nonchalantly.
"Uh~ Isn't this just a misunderstanding because we didn't know each other before? We call this 'no discord, no concord,' it's not a matter of life and death. Besides, if I die now, I'll be even more sorry to them."
Lan Xi tried her best to explain.
"Then I need to be even more careful of you. You're living for their sake. It's just that you're so quiet now because you can't beat me. When you have a chance, then I'll be in even more danger."
Su Mo analyzed logically.
"Ah! Can you even chat? How can every sentence you say be so infuriating?"
Lan Xi was exasperated; she had never been so speechless.
Then, in a fit of anger, she kicked the door next to her, and it opened.
Su Mo was also stunned; the door wasn't closed tightly.
Suddenly, Su Mo's eyes narrowed. He noticed traces of footprints in the dust on the ground and immediately became alert.
Because the room faced the sun, it wasn't as dark as the shaded corridor, so he noticed it immediately.
Lan Xi, who was full of anger, was just about to speak.
Su Mo raised his hand to signal her to be quiet, then he walked into the room and carefully examined every corner.
But the entire room was empty, with nothing inside.
"No one's here."
Lan Xi said, puzzled, seeing how cautious Su Mo was.
Su Mo ignored Lan Xi and carefully looked at the marks on the ground. Judging from the traces, the person had entered this room, but the traces of movement disappeared in the center.
So Su Mo pulled Lan Xi to a specific spot in the middle of the room and had her hold the riot baton properly, in a ready stance.
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing, just stay in this position and don't move, you'll find out later."
Su Mo replied casually.
Lan Xi had no choice but to listen to Su Mo.
Ten minutes later, twenty minutes later.
Just as Lan Xi was holding the riot baton, her arm was getting numb.
Suddenly, a figure began to appear.
Lan Xi was startled and instinctively swung the baton down.
"Ouch!"
A young man wearing a bulletproof vest, holding a shotgun, with sneaky eyes and a rat-like face, wailed in pain.
He glared and raised the shotgun at Lan Xi.
"Looking for death."
He was also speechless. He had just logged in and immediately got hit on the head, causing his head to bleed.
However, at this moment, a hand pressed down on his shoulder from behind.
The young man was slightly stunned and subconsciously turned his head.
He saw a fist smashing hard into his face, and he immediately felt dizzy.
He didn't know how long it had been before the young man slowly woke up. He was terrified to find himself tied up, and everything on his body had been stripped clean.
Soon he saw the culprits, Su Mo and Lan Xi, standing in front of him.
"Who are you?"
The young man asked, looking puzzled.
"You don't need to know who we are, tell us who you are first?"
Su Mo asked coldly.
"Big brother, let's talk nicely. My name is Sun Duoxiang, and I'm a member of the Wuji Guild."
Sun Duoxiang quickly introduced himself.
"Never heard of it."
"It's normal that big brother hasn't heard of it. Someone as awesome as you must be from a bigger guild. Don't make things difficult for a small fry like me. You're so handsome, dashing, and invincible, why don't you just let me go..."
Sun Duoxiang desperately tried to flatter Su Mo.
Lan Xi, who was beside him, looked at him with disdain.
But then an unexpected scene occurred. Su Mo directly raised the shotgun and aimed it at Sun Duoxiang's head, looking like he was about to kill him.
Sun Duoxiang was so frightened that his face turned pale, and he shouted in fear.
"Big brother, no! What did I say wrong? You can tell me, you can scold me. But don't be impulsive, being impulsive is the devil!"
Lan Xi was also confused by Su Mo's actions, and she looked at him in disbelief.
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing, just killing him! Didn't you tell me that people who are all smiles and flattery on the surface are more likely to stab you in the back? If that's the case, why keep him around?"
Su Mo replied naturally.
Lan Xi's mouth was agape.
Sun Duoxiang's face turned green. What kind of strange logic was this? At this moment, he saw Su Mo about to pull the trigger, and he trembled with fear, quickly saying.
"Big brother, don't kill me, I'm useful!"
"What use are you?"
"I have important information!"
Sun Duoxiang quickly said his biggest bargaining chip to persuade him.
But as soon as he said this, Su Mo's murderous intent was revealed, and he replied.
"You have important information?"
Sun Duoxiang shuddered and quickly replied, "I really didn't lie to you, I just logged off to get information from the guild."
"In that case, I can't keep you even more."
Su Mo said with certainty.
"Damn! Why?"
Sun Duoxiang was dumbfounded. What was going on? Having information meant he was even more likely to be killed.
"This person next to me also said she had important information, but she was just trying to trick me. Do you think I'd fall for the same trick twice?"
Su Mo replied coldly.
The corner of Lan Xi's mouth twitched, and she wondered if Su Mo was deliberately mocking her.
But the most devastated was Sun Duoxiang, who almost fainted.
"It's none of my business that she lied to you! What I'm saying is true, I didn't lie to you!"
Su Mo looked at Sun Duoxiang, who was covered in tears and snot, pondered for a moment, and then said.
"Alright, I'll give you one chance, but if the information you provide isn't valuable, I won't give you a second chance to speak."
Sun Duoxiang shook his head desperately and swore with tears in his eyes.
"Definitely not."
"Speak."
"I just got the latest information from the guild. There's a safe zone in the city we're in. All the survivors in the city are gathering in that safe zone. As long as you get there, you'll be safe."
"Where is it?"
Lan Xi asked subconsciously.
"I can't say the exact coordinates, but at ten o'clock tonight, players will set off a signal (like a fire or a loud noise) to indicate the specific location. Then we can team up and go to that area together."
Sun Duoxiang said confidently.
After listening, Su Mo replied expressionlessly, "Do you think I'd believe you? There's no such thing as a completely safe zone in this world. If we go to that so-called safe zone, we'll just get robbed or killed by other players."
"Big brother, listen to me. Wandering around outside, no matter how awesome you are, definitely won't end well. After all, one can't fight against many, so you can only go to the safe zone and band together. And big brother, you probably don't have a guild, right? It doesn't matter, you can join our guild when you get to the safe zone, I can look after you."
Sun Duoxiang invited slyly. He knew that Su Mo didn't have a guild when he heard what he said, otherwise he wouldn't be so wary of the safe zone. In this day and age, there were rewards for recruiting people into the guild, especially for recruiting high-quality people like him, the rewards were extremely generous.
