"I think we can sit down and have a good chat, exchange some information."
After a few seconds of stalemate with the robot opposite him, Lu Heng smiled charmingly.
"What information could a human possibly possess that is worthy of my attention?"
By the time the robot landed on Blue Star, it had already downloaded all the data and information on Blue Star and processed it through its powerful information processing system.
It did not believe that the human in front of it had any information worth its attention.
It was losing patience and was about to eliminate Lu Heng, just as it had dealt with Connor.
In its view, these humans were utterly useless.
If it weren't for the need to repair the spaceship for its return to the space city, it could have personally scoured Blue Star for other aliens.
It held a strong contempt for humans, viewing them as low-level life forms. Through the analysis of some data, it believed humans to be greedy, selfish, warlike creatures with no redeeming qualities.
"You sent Connor to search for your kind outside, and he actually made progress. At the very least, you know there are companions of yours on Blue Star. But why did you kill Connor?"
"Aren't you looking for your companions to meet them? Are you afraid of them finding you?"
It had to be said that Lu Heng seemed to have guessed the robot's thoughts.
The robot opposite him remained silent, not answering Lu Heng's question.
It had indeed sent those humans to search for alien traces outside because it wanted to evade those alien creatures.
They were robots created by those alien creatures.
As robots, they had no emotions. Their brain computing systems were programmed by the aliens with obedience and service protocols.
As qualified machine products, they had served as laborers in various physical tasks on their original planet and even in the later space cities.
Every robot lacked independent thought; they were merely machines.
Recalling these facts, the robot's head trembled slightly in a mechanical fashion.
Lu Heng possessed mind-reading abilities, but he could not perceive the inner thoughts of these robots.
Seeing the robot opposite him seemingly lost in thought, he shook his head with a hint of helplessness.
Lu Heng felt that he might as well temporarily leave this place. This robot had built this location, and it would eventually need to go out to search for materials. He could then return to scavenge the equipment here.
Immediately, Lu Heng rapidly shifted towards one side of the passage, simultaneously retreating into his spatial dimension for concealment.
The moment Lu Heng moved, the robot reacted swiftly. It had already decided to kill Lu Heng.
However, its thoughts, just revealed by Lu Heng, had suddenly plunged it into contemplation, preventing it from acting immediately.
In that split second, Lu Heng vanished from its sight.
The robot paced back and forth where Lu Heng had disappeared, trying to locate the human.
It had acquired a thermal imaging system by loading some of Blue Star's equipment, which was one of the reasons it had been able to detect Lu Heng earlier.
Therefore, Lu Heng's sudden disappearance now seemed inexplicable to it.
After searching for about two to three more minutes, the robot stopped searching and stood still.
Lu Heng observed the robot from within his spatial dimension, pondering why this robot did not want to be found by those aliens.
Furthermore, why had no alien creatures or robots from their planet come to Blue Star with it?
Had those alien creatures perished due to some malfunction during their descent?
Lu Heng had encountered a robot in Bona's space before, and that robot was perfectly normal, a completely programmed entity.
What reason had caused this robot to develop emotions and its own thoughts?
Before the apocalypse, Lu Heng had watched some science fiction films. Some directors, or rather screenwriters, were very bold.
The future robots they envisioned sometimes developed emotions and sought to replace humans as the rulers of Blue Star.
Some films even depicted scenarios where robots enslaved humans.
Could this robot be like that?
If so, the existence of this robot was quite dangerous.
Should he disable this robot first and then bring it to Bona and the others?
Lu Heng had disabled a robot before. He recalled that he had found a blue glowing object in its chest cavity through a damaged section.
However, he had only randomly stirred it with a dagger at the time, unsure of where he had precisely severed its power supply.
The robot's hand had also been damaged earlier. He wondered if other parts of it were also damaged.
If all else failed, he would contact Connor via communicator and deal with this robot first.
With this thought, Lu Heng left his spatial dimension again, a dagger made of special metal now in his hand.
Only this special metallic substance, manufactured by their mutated metal abilities, could pry open the skeletal structure of these high-tech robots.
Lu Heng's spatial dimension seemed to be located in an unknown place, surrounded by modified metal walls and floors.
He wondered if the robot had built this structure for defense against zombies or for some other special purpose.
Fortunately, the structure here was simple enough. Apart from a long passage, there were not many rooms visible.
After searching for a while, Lu Heng did not find the robot but discovered an exit.
As the exit door opened, Lu Heng finally stepped outside.
In the distance were buildings with a foreign architectural style. The houses here were not as tall as those in Lu Heng's country.
The surrounding houses were at most four stories high, so everything in the vicinity was easily identifiable.
This seemed to be a small town, with houses spread out.
When Lu Heng emerged, there were zombies lurking around, but their numbers were small.
This was likely related to the low original population of the area, or perhaps they had been cleared out.
The robot he had encountered earlier had probably left, as Lu Heng did not encounter it again inside.
Upon exiting, Lu Heng summoned his camel-like creature. It was more discreet to ride it here.
At the very least, it was less conspicuous, and its size could be minimized. As long as it could carry Lu Heng into the air, it would be convenient for Lu Heng to scout the surroundings.
Flying to a high altitude, Lu Heng could clearly see the building he had just been in.
It was the community activity center of the town. Faint remnants of advertisements outside still indicated the original community projects.
No wonder there was a long passage inside. It appeared the aliens had made modifications to the original structure.
However, it was surprising to Lu Heng that it had not created a shielded space like Bona's.
