Bai Cha had been gone for a while, and as the crowd under the tree finally grew bolder, they began to chatter.
After Bai Cha's display of force, over half of them felt that the matter had nothing to do with them. After all, they had no grudges against Bai Cha; far from hostility, Bai Cha hadn't even spared them a glance.
In fact, those who had instigated trouble were also unpleasant to behold, so the other half felt a sense of awe towards Bai Cha. They hadn't expected Bai Cha to be so decisive in killing without hesitation.
Of course, there was another small portion of people whose fear turned into even more intense disgust and jealousy. If Bai Cha were present, she might have been surprised to see a microcosm of society's three factions already emerging among just over a dozen people.
“Tsk, are you all done? Can you be quiet?” Some people spoke with such venom that Mo Ziye's face began to turn red with anger.
Initially, Mo Ziye had patiently endured and refrained from getting angry while Bai Cha was away. However, these people were truly going too far. What started as complaints and dissatisfaction with Bai Cha had escalated into curses and attacks on her family.
As soon as Mo Ziye spoke, those who were dissatisfied with Bai Cha found a target for their venting. They feared Bai Cha, but not Mo Ziye, and they didn't believe Mo Ziye could do anything to them.
“A little prince of the Guangming faction, a pampered darling. Of course, he’s powerful. How can he compare to us ordinary people?” someone said sarcastically.
“They’re on opposite sides, yet they cling to each other. So demeaning, aren't they ashamed to disgrace their father?” someone immediately chimed in, “Offering a warm face to a cold rear end. Quite thick-skinned.”
“It was Bai Cha who was in the wrong, so why are you sticking up for her? Why did she kill us…”
Several people started speaking in turn. Mo Ziye, inherently upright and fond of Bai Cha, couldn't bear to hear such words. He immediately got into a fight with someone.
These people had been here for four or five days, subsisting only on vegetable leaves and mushrooms. They had long harbored dissatisfaction, and their words grew increasingly unpleasant. One person, intending to say more, felt a tug on his clothes from his companion. However, before he could react, he continued to speak in anger.
“Why did she injure people without reason? Killing must have a reason, right? Just because we said a few more words…” The person was volubly venting his anger when he felt a cool breeze behind him, making him instinctively shrink his neck.
“Scum only needs to quietly disappear from this world. There’s no need for them to die too clearly.” Bai Cha, who had appeared on a branch at some unknown time, was dangling her legs and watching the scene unfold as if it were a show. She looked down at the now silenced crowd and said, “How about that for a reason?”
The crowd was as quiet as mice, not daring to move a muscle. The one fighting with Mo Ziye froze in place, and Mo Ziye landed a punch on his face, sending him rolling several times.
“If you have the guts to talk, have the guts to not follow me and Xiaobai! You can all leave on your own later!” Mo Ziye was clearly enraged. With the righteous education he had received since childhood, he would never have said something like this, advocating for others to leave rather than protecting them.
Not a soul spoke. Some were too intimidated by Bai Cha; they merely indulged in verbal abuse when Bai Cha was absent. For others, Mo Ziye’s words were indeed true. They only spoke out of turn; they wouldn’t dare leave on their own.
Let alone the perilous environment here due to the Green People, they wouldn't even find food if Gu Zitan and Mo Ziye hadn't helped.
“Xiaobai!” Mo Ziye’s mood brightened considerably upon seeing Bai Cha. Like a little monkey, he quickly scrambled up the tree and sat with Bai Cha, excitedly asking, “Did Xiaobai discover something!”
“So excited? Perhaps I found nothing.” Seeing Mo Ziye's starry-eyed foolishness, Bai Cha couldn't help but smile slightly. “If you fall, you might hit someone.”
“No way, when Xiaobai goes out, the harvest will definitely be more than everyone else’s.” Mo Ziye clenched his fist, acting like an adoring fan. “Xiaobai is the strongest!”
Watching Mo Ziye’s energetic demeanor, Bai Cha’s smile deepened. She couldn't resist teasing, “Stronger than your father?”
Mo Ziye: “Uh… each, each has their own merits.”
Seeing Mo Ziye scratching his head in embarrassment, Bai Cha let out a rather pleased hum. She reached for the metal belt around her waist and, with a “snap,” a small, fingernail-sized cube popped out.
Bai Cha held the small cube in her hand and flicked it lightly. The metal cube began to emit a bright light in mid-air, trailing a long tail of dazzling colored light before exploding in the sky, lingering for a long time.
This greatly startled everyone. Didn't this expose their location?
The people under the tree immediately changed their expressions. Gu Zitan was the fastest to react and the first to calm down. In truth, whether Bai Cha did this or not, they were already exposed to those strange creatures. Nevertheless, he was still puzzled by Bai Cha’s actions.
As expected, shortly after the colored light cluster burst, several Green People appeared rustling around them, weapons in hand and looking menacing. They were clearly attracted by the colored light cluster.
These Green People already knew the location of the unwelcome guests. Before they could make a move, such a commotion erupted on this side. In the eyes of these Green People, this was clearly a blatant provocation.
“Xiaobai, there are too many of them.” Mo Ziye was a bit weak-kneed. He was already struggling to fight one Green Person, and at a glance, there were over twenty. He pursed his lips and revealed his last resort: “Xiaobai, the only skill I can use right now is the Golden Path, which is highly compressed energy that can temporarily push back the suppression of power in this space. It should be able to help you.”
Dragon Knights generally possessed their own ultimate attacks, but the suppression in this space was truly formidable. Apart from ancestral dragons like the Holy Magic Dragon, other dragons remained hidden within their masters' bodies, not daring to come out, let alone unleash a full-powered attack. Only Mo Ziye, Michael, or Lucifer could achieve this here.
Mo Ziye, despite his fear, was trying his best to convince himself to remain calm. The scene was somewhat amusing to Bai Cha. She ruffled Mo Ziye’s hair and smiled, saying, “Stay put.”
Gu Zitan, under the tree, was bewildered. He estimated the combat power of these Green People. He could probably hold his own against five or six. Unlike Mo Ziye, he didn't have Michael's help, but as a world-class expert, he was still considerably stronger than Mo Ziye.
Everyone watched in horror as the green heads, one by one, drew nearer. The heads swarmed, and their green muscles, devoid of protective skin, were exposed, appearing particularly glaring. They opened their mouths as if to roar, but the sounds they produced were dry, like sandpaper rubbing.
As they gradually approached, as if commanded by a silent gun salute, this group of green savages charged forward, almost skimming the ground, like arrows loosed from a bowstring. They glared fiercely at these perfect "humans," as if to pour all their accumulated silence and the anger of their failed evolution into their weapons.
“Wuwuwu—”
A clear and resonant flute melody pierced the air, causing the heads of the people under the tree to buzz, yet paradoxically, it was not unpleasant. Despite being a clear flute melody, it sounded like the roar of war drums, igniting a fervor within them.
The flute's melody enveloped them, and the footsteps of the Green People came to an abrupt halt. It was as if an invisible giant hand had slapped them from above, their chests and faces making intimate contact with the ground.
“Geggege…” One of the Green People, seemingly the leader of the group, endured the cracking of his bones in this moment of crisis. He abruptly lifted his head and let out a roar towards the sky.
This sound was far more grating than a cat scratching a blackboard, a hoarse sound that sent shivers down everyone’s spines. Yet, the Green People who were pinned to the ground instantly seemed to gain renewed vigor. They leaped up, heading straight for the red-robed man playing the flute in mid-air.
As the Green People lunged forward, Su Qing remained composed. His footwork shifted, and he instantly moved three meters diagonally downwards. Watching the group of Green People collide with each other, the flute melody changed. A sweep of pale blue notes froze these Green People, who were roaring at him, in mid-air.
A flash of blood streaked through the air, and crystalline blood splattered into countless tiny droplets, piercing through the mouths of these Green People and ending their lives. Bai Cha then jumped down from the tree with Mo Ziye and nodded with satisfaction at Su Qing.
“Great progress.” Bai Cha was in a good mood, and Su Qing also breathed a sigh of relief.
The people here were unable to use dragon power. However, this restriction had a very limited effect on people from the Shadow faction. They were all genetically modified individuals, and most of them had obtained supernatural powers through gene augmentation surgery at a cost. Here, they possessed a significant advantage.
Bai Cha had already received news from Su Qing about this area earlier. Unfortunately, Su Qing was separated from his partner, Li Rong. Otherwise, their combination would be sufficient to sweep through the Green People tribes.
After all, before the prophecy descended, Bai Cha's ranked sacrifices were first Meng Qinghuan, followed by the duo Su Qing and Li Rong. Xiang Nan came later, as the focus of a warrior and a strategist was quite different.
“It seems like only the two of us are here. I wonder how the others are doing.” Su Qing casually sat on the ground, fiddling with the jade flute in his hand. He couldn't emulate the elegant demeanor of Li Rong or Lucifer. He was accustomed to a free and easy life and always did whatever was most comfortable.
Used to Bai Cha's aloofness, Su Qing was not nervous and casually asked, “Have you found a way?”
“Yes.” Bai Cha also sat down, her expression calm. “There's a problem. Someone is interfering.”
“Some…one, interfering?” Su Qing asked in surprise, accurately grasping the key point.
Their conversation was not kept secret from the others. Hearing this, Mo Ziye and Gu Zitan also gathered around, looking puzzled.
“Yes, I sensed the aura of the Zhi family.” Bai Cha nodded, as if not noticing Mo Ziye’s incredulous expression. She touched the communicator on her ear and said nonchalantly, “I found the World Crystal. There’s a space rift nearby, very well hidden. It looks like it’s a product of technology.”
“Wait, wait a minute! How could it be the Zhi family? Why would Zhi Yue do this? Wasn't she also teleported randomly?” Mo Ziye interjected hurriedly. “What benefit would this bring her…”
Mo Ziye’s small face turned red. Clearly, the Guangming faction held a very important position in his heart. He found it incredibly difficult to believe that people from the Guangming faction would be described with such a sarcastic and derogatory term as "interfering."
“I said the Zhi family, not Zhi Yue,” Bai Cha glanced at Mo Ziye, shrugged, and continued, “It’s probably something they researched from the data I brought out last time. Actually, this crystal is useless, but people are just like that; even if I say so, they won't believe it and will use all means to cut off this so-called 'money route.'”
To put it bluntly, Bai Cha herself was acting under orders. The World Tree had instructed them to retrieve the World Crystal, but it hadn't specified what to do with it or how to use it. Even if these items were in their possession, they were temporarily useless, serving no other purpose besides decoration.
However, some people just refused to believe it and felt that everything Bai Cha had was valuable and had to be snatched away. Regarding this, Bai Cha expressed her incomprehension.
