Chapter 1319 Waiter?
“Mr. Chen, I’m downstairs at the Vermillion Bird Building. When will you be free to come down and get the keys?”
As soon as the call connected, Cao Gang’s cheerful voice came through.
Su Yunxi was also startled by the voice. She frowned, finding it somewhat familiar.
She had met Cao Gang once at a banquet before, which was why the voice seemed familiar. However, since they had only met once and she was hearing him over the phone now, she couldn’t quite place it as Cao Gang’s voice.
“Wait for me downstairs. I’ll be right there to get them,” Chen Xuan said with a slight smile.
After hanging up, Chen Xuan glanced at Su Yunxi and said, “Yunxi, the person delivering the keys is here. I’ll go get them, so we don’t have to stay in the lounge tonight.”
“Why don’t you eat breakfast first, or it’ll get cold,” Su Yunxi suggested.
“I’ll eat as I walk.”
Chen Xuan picked up the remaining half cup of soy milk and two dough sticks, then stood up and walked out of the office.
Outside, several employees had already arrived. Seeing Chen Xuan, who was dishevelled, walking out of Su Yunxi’s office with soy milk and dough sticks, they exchanged glances.
Who exactly is this guy?
Ouch!
Suddenly, a figure rushed over and slammed hard into Chen Xuan’s chest.
Chen Xuan remained unmoving, but the person was thrown to the ground, sitting on their backside. Rubbing their rear, they cursed, “Are you blind! Do you know who I am?”
“Oh, Vice President Yu. Watch where you’re going,” Chen Xuan said with a chuckle.
This person was none other than Vice President Yu Hua, who had just gone to the office to deliver soy milk and dough sticks in a show of eagerness.
“It’s actually you…”
Yu Hua’s face changed drastically when he saw Chen Xuan’s face.
“Hmph…”
Yu Hua let out a cold snort and turned to leave without another word.
The onlookers exchanged glances, curious about Chen Xuan’s identity that made Yu Hua so flustered.
“Thanks for the soy milk and dough sticks!”
The faint voice caused Yu Hua to stumble, nearly falling.
Chen Xuan drank his soy milk and ate his dough sticks as he took the elevator downstairs. He finished just in time to discard the trash in the bin, wipe his hands, and walk out of the Vermillion Bird Building.
As he stepped out, he saw a luxury car parked at the entrance of the building.
The person inside seemed to have seen Chen Xuan. The driver quickly jumped out, opened the passenger door, and Cao Gang emerged from the car.
“Mr. Chen!”
Cao Gang said with a beaming, solicitous smile.
“Mr. Cao,” Chen Xuan replied, his expression calm and serene.
“About yesterday’s matter…”
“That’s enough. I know about yesterday. But make sure your Cao family members have some restraint in the future, or don’t blame me for being impolite,” Chen Xuan said with a slightly cold tone.
“Alright… I will definitely teach them a lesson!” Cao Gang vowed earnestly. “I’ll punish them severely when I get back.”
“Did you bring the keys?”
Chen Xuan asked.
This was Chen Xuan’s primary objective. Otherwise, they would have to stay in the lounge tonight, which he didn’t mind, but Old Master Su couldn’t handle it, being advanced in age.
Cao Gang glanced at the driver, who quickly retrieved a delicate box from the trunk.
The box was of moderate size, about the span of two palms, intricately engraved with a relief carving. The carving depicted a glorious palace, exquisitely detailed.
“Mr. Chen, this is the key to the Holy Palace Villa.”
Chen Xuan opened the box. Inside, the key had a futuristic design and required iris recognition to use.
Clearly, the Holy Palace Villa was exceptionally valuable.
“Mr. Chen, please move in first. When you have time, I’ll have someone finalize the transfer procedures and deliver them to you then.”
“Alright, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now.”
Chen Xuan took the keys and turned to leave.
“Wait, Mr. Chen!”
Suddenly, Cao Gang called out to him.
“Is there anything else?” Chen Xuan stopped and turned back to ask.
“Mr. Chen, I’d like to treat you to lunch, and I’ve also prepared a gift for you that I’m sure you’ll like,” Cao Gang said with a smile.
Chen Xuan looked at Cao Gang. He had just finished his brunch and wasn’t hungry, but he didn’t refuse. “Alright.”
“Wonderful!”
Cao Gang was ecstatic. He extended his hand and respectfully said, “Mr. Chen, please get in the car.”
Chen Xuan burped but still stepped into the car.
This was not just a meal, but a display of social etiquette!
After Chen Xuan got into the car, Cao Gang quickly followed suit and told the driver to start driving.
The car slowly set off towards their destination!
“Where are we going?”
Chen Xuan asked.
“River Moon.”
“Oh…”
Chen Xuan nodded lightly.
After all, Huo Guangtai had helped Cao Gang last time, and with such a favour, Cao Gang would naturally think of Huo Guangtai as repayment.
Chen Xuan looked at Cao Gang again, surprised that he knew how to reciprocate kindness.
“By the way, what gift have you prepared for me?”
“Hehehe, you’ll know when we get there.”
Chen Xuan closed his eyes to rest, not saying anything further.
An hour later.
They arrived at River Moon. Huo Guangtai seemed to know Chen Xuan would arrive early and was already waiting at the entrance. He respectfully said, “Mr. Chen, Patriarch Cao, please come in quickly. I’ve prepared a private room for you on the top floor.”
Huo Du, standing beside him, also came to join the celebration, saying with a smile, “It’s truly wonderful that you two could grace us with your presence!”
“Patriarch Huo, you’re too kind,” Chen Xuan replied with a faint smile.
Then, Chen Xuan and Cao Gang entered River Moon.
The last time Chen Xuan came to River Moon, he had been to the top floor, so he was familiar with the way.
Suddenly, Chen Xuan stopped and said, “You guys go ahead. I know where it is. I’ll find you later.”
With that, Chen Xuan darted into the nearby restroom.
Everyone exchanged bewildered glances. Huo Du was especially nervous. Although he knew Chen Xuan was very powerful, the person beside him was Patriarch Cao Gang. Wasn’t this too disrespectful?
Unexpectedly, Cao Gang chuckled and said, “Mr. Chen truly has a genuine personality.”
“Patriarch Cao, perhaps we should go up first,” Huo Guangtai suggested.
Cao Gang was clearly reluctant but nodded nonetheless.
Shortly after they left, Chen Xuan emerged from the restroom, feeling light and refreshed.
He washed his hands in the restroom, dried them, and then walked out.
Suddenly, a female attendant approached. She looked at Chen Xuan, her brows furrowed with displeasure. “Are you the new helper? Why did you come dressed like this?”
This waitress was in her early twenties, wearing light makeup, with delicate features. She looked quite beautiful.
Her posture was upright, and her expression exuded confidence. Judging by her demeanor and commanding tone, she seemed less like a waitress and more like a young lady from a distinguished family.
Although the waitress was beautiful, she had a pained expression, clutching her abdomen with one hand, with large beads of sweat trickling down her forehead.
With just one glance, Chen Xuan realized that this waitress was suffering from severe menstrual cramps.
