Chapter 277 Synchronized Movements

As Liu Peng's foot stepped onto the stairs, ready to go upstairs for clothes, he immediately retreated. He looked up at the second floor, his mind conjuring the woman's face.

It was strange, no matter how he tried, he couldn't recall the woman's appearance.

The only thing he remembered was that she was wearing Zhao Yan's new clothes.

He dared not go to the second floor, nor did he dare to fetch clothes for a bath alone.

He was afraid.

The greatest fear stemmed from imagination and the unknown, and he was experiencing both.

Recalling something, he looked behind him, his gaze fixed on Zhao Yan.

Seeing Zhao Yan chatting with He Jing, he took a few steps back, came to Zhao Yan's side, and said, "Sister Zhao, could you accompany me upstairs? I'm scared."

Zhao Yan looked at Liu Peng, seeing his pale face, and nodded without refusal, "Okay."

With Zhao Yan's agreement, Liu Peng breathed a sigh of relief and followed her upstairs.

Liu Peng chose his clothes and then, feeling a bit embarrassed, said, "Sister Zhao, could you stay with me..."

Seeing Zhao Yan's curious look, Liu Peng quickly explained, "Not to bathe with me, just to stay within a meter. You can wait for me at the door, okay, Sister Zhao?"

"I'm really scared."

Zhao Yan asked, "What's wrong? What happened?"

Liu Peng recounted the story of seeing the female ghost.

Zhao Yan comforted him, "You don't need to be so scared. Since the female ghost has gone to a new burial ground, it means she has accepted it. If she has accepted it, she won't do anything to you."

Liu Peng said, "It was the first time I saw her, I was really scared."

Zhao Yan replied, "Yes, people with normal yang energy wouldn't see her. But the feng shui of this house is different, causing your yin energy to be heavy, which is why you see spirits."

"Alright, you go wash. I'll wait for you at the door."

Liu Peng gratefully thanked Zhao Yan and walked into the bathroom. As soon as he entered, he immediately opened the door, confirming Zhao Yan was standing at the entrance. He breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Sister Zhao, please don't leave. I'll be quick, three minutes at most."

"Don't worry, I won't," Zhao Yan replied.

Liu Peng closed the door, and the sound of the shower began.

After about ten seconds, the shower sound stopped.

Liu Peng's voice came from the bathroom, "Sister Zhao, are you still there?"

Zhao Yan said, "Yes."

"Okay, thank you, Sister Zhao."

After thirty seconds: "Sister Zhao, are you there?"

"Yes."

A few seconds later: "Zhao..."

Before he could finish, Zhao Yan responded, "Here!"

"Sister Zhao, why don't you sing me a song? I'll feel more at ease listening inside."

Zhao Yan: "..."

Although feeling a bit helpless, Zhao Yan began to sing. She didn't listen to music much and after thinking for a while, she recalled a song the old man used to sing to lull her to sleep.

"Two tigers, two tigers, run fast, one has no ears..."

After the song finished, Liu Peng was done showering and thanked Zhao Yan, "Thank you, Sister Zhao."

Zhao Yan waved her hand, "It's nothing, no need to thank me."

"Don't overthink it, it's nothing."

Seeing Liu Peng was still scared, Zhao Yan pointed outside, "The rain has lessened now. I'll go take a look. You should be reassured now, right?"

"And I'll ask her name, so we can erect a tombstone tomorrow morning."

Liu Peng opened his mouth but couldn't utter a word.

Zhao Yan walked out of the room and to the courtyard entrance, looking down the main road.

She saw a female ghost.

Just as Liu Peng had said, the female ghost was wearing the clothes she had given to the remains.

Zhao Yan walked over and reached the roadside.

Seeing Zhao Yan descend the steps, the female ghost floated over and thanked her, "Thank you, Celestial Master, for dressing me and moving my grave, so I wouldn't suffer in the cold rain."

Zhao Yan hummed softly, "You're not a bad ghost. They didn't dig up your grave intentionally."

"They said they would get you a good coffin and erect a tombstone, and burn some incense money for you. Your days will be better in the future."

The female ghost thanked her, "Thank you, Master. Actually, I don't blame them. My burial site has been there for a long time, and it's normal that no one recognized it."

Recalling something, and fearing Zhao Yan's blame, she quickly explained, "The reason that man had malevolent energy on his forehead was because he dug up the grave, causing the yin energy from inside to splash onto his face. It wasn't caused by me."

"Yes, I understand. If you were a malevolent ghost, he wouldn't be so full of life."

Zhao Yan took out a pen and paper, "Tell me your name, so when we erect the tombstone tomorrow, we can write your name on it."

The female ghost repeatedly thanked her, "My name is Zhou Ziran, born in 1921, died in 1953."

"Why haven't you reincarnated yet?"

The female ghost said seriously, "I'm waiting for someone."

Zhao Yan heard this and didn't ask further.

She wrote the female ghost's name on the paper.

"What is Little Zhao muttering to herself, talking to the air?" He Jing asked.

Zhang Lei shook his head, "I can't hear clearly. It sounds like she's chatting with someone."

Liu Peng blinked. Only he saw Zhao Yan talking to the female ghost.

The female ghost turned around and waved at him friendly.

Seeing this, Liu Peng froze. He raised his hand and waved back at the female ghost, forcing a smile.

Zhao Yan returned with the notebook and saw four people standing at the door, all looking at her.

Zhao Yan said, "Teacher Zhang, the remains today were named Zhou Ziran, born in 1921 and passed away in 1942."

Recalling the events of the day, they knew this young woman was extraordinary.

If anyone else had said this, they wouldn't have believed it, but after experiencing today's events, they were very convinced of Zhao Yan.

"Okay, I'll have someone erect a tombstone tomorrow. It will be a bit of trouble for you, Little Zhao," Zhang Lei said.

Zhao Yan replied, "You're welcome, Teacher Zhang."

After that, she walked towards Liu Peng and said, "Zhou Ziran asked me to apologize for scaring you."

"She didn't mean to scare you. She just subconsciously turned her head when she heard someone call her."

Liu Peng quickly shook his head like a rattle, "I don't blame her!"

At this point, Liu Peng whispered, "Sister Zhao, could you give me something of yours? Anything at all, I'll feel more at ease holding it."

Zhao Yan took a talisman from her pocket, "Here, take this."

"Okay, thank you, Sister Zhao."

Around ten o'clock, Zhao Yan returned to her room to sleep.

In the opposite room, He Jing and Zhang Lei said speechlessly, "Pengpeng, what are you doing? Why are you sleeping horizontally!"

"Sister Zhao said sleeping like this is good for the body."

He Jing and Zhang Lei said in unison, "Huh? Good for the body?"

Mu Jun returned after showering and looked at the beds in surprise, "Teacher He, Teacher Zhang, why are you all sleeping horizontally!"
