Chapter 30 My Back Aches

"Mom, what does this black cat you're talking about look like?" Jiang Wen said, her voice trembling.

"It's all black, missing one ear, and has white fur around its right eye," her mother described.

"Ah!" Jiang Wen exclaimed.

It was the one she had tormented to death; the missing ear had been cut off by her scissors.

"That damned woman, she must have done something to me, damn it, damn it!" Jiang Wen gritted her teeth, filled with resentment.

Jiang's mother was startled by Jiang Wen's expression. Her usually obedient and cute daughter's eyes looked so terrifying.

The car arrived at the hospital entrance. Jiang's mother quickly helped Jiang Wen. Before they even entered the hospital, she called out several times for a doctor.

A doctor took Jiang Wen in on a stretcher.

"Doctor, my daughter was hit by a bookshelf. Not only is her head injured, but you must examine her waist carefully," her mother said anxiously.

They took her to the emergency room. When the doctor pulled up Jiang Wen's back clothes, he was startled.

Jiang Wen's back was covered in black paw prints of cats, large and small.

After a series of examinations, the doctor was very surprised: "Are you sure your daughter's back was hit by a bookshelf?"

Jiang's mother nodded: "Yes, it was the bookshelf, and I was the one who moved it aside."

"Then it's strange. The bookshelf injured your daughter's forehead. Her head has been bandaged and is not seriously hurt."

"But her back is not injured," the doctor said.

Jiang's mother's voice rose several decibels: "Impossible! My daughter has been saying her back hurts all the way here."

"Then we'll keep her for observation and arrange for hospitalization," the doctor said.

Jiang Wen felt her back getting heavier and heavier. At first, she could still stand up with some effort, but now she found she couldn't even stand for a moment.

"Mom, my back really hurts," Jiang Wen cried, and could only lie down on the bed.

As soon as she lay down, she felt a sharp pain in her back.

It felt like something had clawed her fiercely.

"Mom, Mom!" Jiang Wen shivered and tightly grabbed her mother's hand.

"What's wrong, Wenwen?" her mother asked nervously.

"My back, quickly look at my back," Jiang Wen said.

Jiang's mother pulled up Jiang Wen's back clothes and shook her head: "Wenwen, there's nothing on your back."

"Hold the mirror up to my back, I want to see! My back hurts so much!" Jiang Wen said fearfully.

Jiang's mother held the mirror up, reflecting her back.

Jiang Wen looked back into the mirror and instantly saw many cats standing on her back, with many of their claws digging into her back.

"Ah! Mom!" Jiang Wen cried, "There are cats on my back, so many cats!"

She wildly waved her hands, swatting at her back, trying to drive the cats away.

No matter what she did, the cats' claws dug deeper, and the pain made her cry out in agony.

"Wenwen, what's wrong? There's nothing on your back." Jiang's mother panicked and immediately shouted, "Doctor, doctor!"

"Wuwuwu, it's real, quickly ask the teacher at your class for Wu Jiaxin's phone number, call her and tell that woman I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I'll never dare again!" Jiang Wen cried.

Jiang's mother took out her phone, called Jiang Wen's homeroom teacher, and got Wu Jiaxin's phone number.

Zhao Yan was playing "Honor of Kings" with Wu Jiaxin at a shop.

As a "Penta Kill" announcement sounded, Zhao Yan was having a thrilling time in a Bronze III match.

"Penta Kill! Penta Kill! Haha, I got a Penta Kill!"

"Stay calm, don't rush, post a moment and be happy."

She won the MVP award.

Having just learned the game, it was at least much easier to play than "Yang Le Yang".

Just as Zhao Yan was about to play another game with Wu Jiaxin, Wu Jiaxin saw a strange incoming call: "Sister Zhao, there's a call, I'll answer it first."

Zhao Yan nodded: "Go ahead."

Looking at Arthur, Zhao Yan wondered if she should spend money to buy Diao Chan. Arthur didn't suit her.

Seeing the price, she decided against it. It was enough for her to eat several bowls of lamb noodles. She'd buy it with gold coins later, not waste money.

"I understand, I'll inform them," Wu Jiaxin said after a few words, and immediately handed the phone to Zhao Yan.

"Sister Zhao, it's Jiang Wen's mother calling. She said her daughter has been hospitalized."

Zhao Yan put down her phone and said, "I'm not a doctor, why are they looking for me!"

Saying that, she still answered the call.

As soon as she connected, Jiang's mother's sharp voice came through.

"Did you do this to my daughter? How can your heart be so wicked? Look at how you've tormented my good daughter. What else could a young girl do but this kind of harmful thing! You deserve to be struck by lightning!"

Zhao Yan chuckled: "Rebound."

Then she hung up the phone.

"Sister Zhao, her mother was so rude to you, why didn't you scold her back?" Wu Jiaxin said indignantly.

She knew very well that Jiang Wen had brought this upon herself. Why should she be cursed at?

Zhao Yan shrugged: "If a dog bites you, would you bite it back?"

Wu Jiaxin thought for a moment and said, "Sister Zhao is right."

She clicked on the call log and blocked the number.

At the hospital, Jiang Wen was crying because of her mother's words.

"Mom, what are you doing! I told you to call her and say I was sorry, why did you curse at her? Now she's even less likely to help me!"

"My back hurts so much, stop scratching, please." Jiang Wen begged, crying.

Jiang's mother looked at Jiang Wen writhing in pain on the bed and said anxiously, "Then I'll call her again."

When she called again, she found the number was unavailable.

Jiang's mother said, "It's not connecting."

"It's not allowed in the hospital, I'll die of pain. Mom, quickly take me to find her. She must be the one doing this to me," Jiang Wen said, trembling all over from the pain, her voice extremely weak.

"Okay, Mom will ask around again." Jiang's mother made several calls, asking Jiang Wen's classmates and teachers. Finally, a classmate told her where Wu Jiaxin was.

She quickly had Jiang Wen sit in a wheelchair, pushed her into the car. Jiang Wen dared not open her eyes, as every time she did, she saw the vengeful spirits of many cats.

She felt like her back had been torn to shreds by cats.

Following the navigation, they arrived at the shop. Jiang's mother got out of the car with Jiang Wen, prepared a wheelchair, and had her sit in it.

Zhao Yan heard the car stop. She thought a customer had arrived, but then she saw a middle-aged woman pushing Jiang Wen over and immediately understood what was happening.

"Quick, quick, turn off the lights and go to sleep." Zhao Yan patted Wu Jiaxin's back, quickly turned off the lights, and scurried upstairs.

As soon as they got upstairs, Wu Jiaxin said, "Sister Zhao, the shop's main door isn't closed."

"The shop is so poor, even a thief would cry and leave," Zhao Yan said, shaking her head.

Besides, there were still things guarding the shop.

"This is it, Wenwen." Jiang's mother pushed Jiang Wen's wheelchair. Jiang Wen kept urging, "Mom, hurry up."
