Mr. Xiao Zhao

Chapter 74 The Holy Mother Protagonist's Younger Sister 4

After the four people divided the money, they were reluctant to leave. Although Jun Jiuli's punch had been very intimidating, wealth was still more tempting.

They all signaled Jin Moyu with their eyes. Jin Moyu gritted her teeth and said, "A Li, you should give the money to your second uncle and them too. It's inconvenient for a young girl to carry so much money. They are just temporarily keeping it for us sisters. I am your elder sister, and you can trust me."

"Sister, I'm an adult now. I can make decisions about my own money."

Jin Moyu said disapprovingly, "The elder sister is like a mother. With Mom and Dad gone, you have to listen to me. Besides, I'm doing this for your own good. Why are you being so unreasonable?"

"Slap, slap, slap," several loud slaps echoed in the air, interrupting Jin Moyu's tirade. Everyone was startled and took two steps back. Jin Moyu covered her face, looking utterly disbelieving.

She shuddered, her hair standing on end, as she remembered her recently deceased father. Her legs trembled and then gave out, collapsing her to the ground, too terrified to make a sound.

Looking around, she saw everyone keeping their distance. Jin's second aunt was the first to scream, "Ah, a ghost! There's a ghost!"

Jin's second uncle reacted quickly, covering her mouth. "You idiot, shut up! You're going to get us all killed."

Jin's second aunt, crying and sniffling, nodded repeatedly to show she would be quiet, and Jin's second uncle released her.

"Dad, Mom, what's going on?" The two children playing outside had noticed the commotion and were heading over.

The four adults' hearts leaped into their throats. This was their only precious child. What if something happened to her? They all wanted to leave with the children quickly.

The four of them rushed towards the door together. The doorframe was too narrow for them all to pass through at once. Jin's third aunt and Jin's second aunt, who were in front, tripped on the doorstep. As they stumbled, they instinctively grabbed onto the people next to them.

This caused the two behind them to fall forward due to inertia, pushing the two in front down. Jin's second uncle, reacting quickly, rolled to the side as he was about to fall. Jin's third uncle, however, landed directly on Jin's second aunt, his body landing precisely on her firm, shapely backside.

If Jin's second aunt had landed facing away, it would have surely been a scene straight out of a romance drama. Jin's third uncle was dazed, remaining there for a long time. It wasn't until Jin's second uncle roared in anger that he quickly got off.

The four of them awkwardly took the children home. Jun Jiuli, having watched the spectacle, ignored Jin Moyu, who was still sitting on the ground. She needed to heat some water to wash up and then check the kitchen for food.

Suddenly, Jin Moyu was alone in the main hall and felt an eerie chill. She quickly got up and followed behind Jun Jiuli.

As the sisters ate, Jin Moyu remembered that her sister had bumped her forehead earlier and wanted to show concern.

"A Li, does your forehead still hurt? Wait here, I'll get some soot from the bottom of a pot to put on it for you. Don't worry, it will heal soon, and it definitely won't leave a scar."

"No need, I'll go to the clinic to get it bandaged tomorrow."

"It's not a big deal, why waste money at the clinic? Just listen to me, I'm doing this for your own good."

Shui Wa silently grumbled in her heart. Jun Jiuli's temples throbbed.

Jin Moyu had used this "elder sister always knows best" facade to deceive the original owner. Later, she kept making choices for the original owner, wanting to control her life.

Jun Jiuli slammed down her chopsticks. "I have money, why should I suffer like this? You just worry about yourself. Don't try to make decisions for me about everything, I don't need it."

With that, she got up and returned to her room, giving the saintly Jin Moyu no chance to cry or argue.

Seeing Jun Jiuli leave, Jin Moyu felt her sister was becoming more rebellious, leaving her with a stifled feeling of frustration. She eventually continued eating her rice silently.

The Jin family's grandparents had all passed away. The sisters' only blood relatives were their unreliable uncles' families. Tomorrow was the funeral for the original owner's father, and they would need to invite some strong young men from the neighborhood to help.

Jun Jiuli couldn't stand owing favors. She folded several small paper packets from old newspapers, placing two mao in each.

The next day, without any adults in charge, the family did not host a funeral banquet. After the original owner's father was laid to rest, Jun Jiuli gave the "red envelopes" to those who helped and prepared to pack her belongings, as she was scheduled to go to the countryside the day after tomorrow.

They were all neighbors and were heading home together. Before they reached the Jin family's courtyard, they heard a clamor. The group exchanged glances, knowing something had happened, and prepared to help.

After all, the original owner's father had been well-liked when he was alive. Now, with only two frail daughters left, people were naturally willing to lend a hand where they could.

Upon entering, they saw several strong young men rummaging through the courtyard. Jin Moyu was not in the courtyard; she was with Jin's second aunt and Jin's third aunt, searching in Jun Jiuli's room.

Thinking hard, she revealed all the places her sister might hide money. Those outside the door heard everything clearly and thought Jin Moyu had lost her mind, helping outsiders bully her own sister.

The two families had discussed it all night after returning yesterday. They were still unwilling to let the money fall into Jun Jiuli's hands. They believed that the situation yesterday was due to weak yang energy.

Therefore, Jin's second aunt and Jin's third aunt had summoned their brothers and nephews overnight. After Jun Jiuli and others had arranged for Jin Dawang's coffin to be carried out, they brought their people in to look for the money.

Upon seeing this, Jun Jiuli immediately rushed into the house, grabbed a pillow, and began searching, then started crying.

"Second Aunt, Third Aunt, your families are so heartless! You want to take all of my father's survivor benefits. What will we sisters eat in the future?" she sobbed, choking back tears.

"You, you, you're talking nonsense! We didn't find your money at all," Jin's second aunt stammered, finding the girl eerily different from before.

"Would a thief admit to stealing money? My money was in the pillow. Your families took my sister's share, and now you're coming to snatch my share too. You're trying to drive us sisters to death! Wuwuwu~"

"A Li, don't cry. Why are you speaking so harshly? Your second aunt and I know that you sisters are going to the countryside. We specifically came to help you pack your things, fearing you wouldn't get everything ready. You can't slander us like this. Don't you make us elders disheartened?"

"Yes, yes, it's just as your third aunt said. Ask your eldest sister if you don't believe me."

Jin Moyu, standing by, nodded quickly, corroborating her aunts' words. "That's right, A Li. We're all family. Why do you always assume the worst of people?"

Shui Wa: "The female lead is such a burden."
