Luo Fei noticed that besides the girl on the sofa, there seemed to be no one else in the KTV, so he called the girl over.

The girl was sleeping soundly, and being suddenly disturbed, she looked at Luo Fei with an unfriendly expression. But when Luo Fei showed his credentials and identified himself, her attitude immediately changed, becoming not only polite but somewhat nervous.

"You don’t need to be nervous; I just have some questions. Just tell me what you know," Luo Fei said, trying to reassure the nervous girl.

"I understand," the girl replied, her accent indicating she was from Sichuan Province.

"Are you the only one here in the KTV now?" Luo Fei asked.

"Yes," the girl nodded.

"Do you know Zhou Zhi? She used to work here at this KTV," Luo Fei continued to ask.

The girl shook her head, "No, I don’t. She had probably already left by the time I got here. I’ve been working at this KTV for less than a year."

"Do you know your boss’s phone number?"

"I have the boss’s phone number."

"Then can you call your boss and ask them to come over to the KTV? We have something to ask them."

"Sure," the girl nodded quickly, then took out her phone and started to make a call.

After finishing the call, the girl told Luo Fei, "Our boss will be here soon. Officer, please wait on the sofa for a bit."

"Alright," Luo Fei nodded and then asked the girl, "Have you been working here for a year?"

"No, I started working here last year after the Spring Festival," the girl replied from the reception area.

"So, while working here, do you know if anything happened before?" Luo Fei casually inquired.

The girl’s expression appeared quite confused, clearly not understanding what Luo Fei meant.

"No worries, go about your business, you don’t need to mind me," Luo Fei said as he walked over to the sofa and sat down.

Meanwhile, the girl began playing on her phone, and Luo Fei waited quietly for the KTV boss.

About twenty minutes later, a well-dressed woman with a pretty face, wearing relaxed, casual clothes, walked in.

"Boss, it’s the police officer looking for you," the receptionist girl immediately informed the woman, and Luo Fei was surprised to find out that the KTV’s boss was a woman.

"Hello officer, I’m the owner of Jinjiang KTV, my name is Jiang Rong. What can I help you with?" the woman asked calmly as she walked over.

Luo Fei stood up and said, "Ms. Jiang, hello, I’m from the Ningjiang Criminal Investigation Team. Here is my ID. I’m here to find out about a few things. I hope Ms. Jiang can help with my inquiry."

Saying this, Luo Fei handed over his ID to Jiang Rong, and after she had a careful look, she returned it to Luo Fei.

"Sure, as long as it’s something I know, I’ll tell you truthfully," Jiang Rong replied politely.

Luo Fei then directly asked, "Ms. Jiang, do you know Zhou Zhi and Yang Cheng?"

Jiang Rong looked slightly puzzled and nodded, "Both of them used to work here. Has something happened to them, officer?"

Luo Fei didn’t answer Jiang Rong’s question but continued, "From what I’ve gathered, Zhou Zhi and Yang Cheng both started working here after getting out of prison. Why did they suddenly resign and leave the KTV? Do you know why, Ms. Jiang?"

Jiang Rong shook her head, "I don’t know. When Zhou Zhi told me she and Yang Cheng wanted to resign, I thought it was a pity and tried to persuade her to stay, but Zhou Zhi was firm, and they eventually left."

Luo Fei frowned, unwilling to give up, and asked again, "Ms. Jiang, please think carefully, is there any reason Zhou Zhi and the others suddenly left? Or is there something they were involved in?"

"Officer, I really don’t know about this. You know how there is a high turnover rate in places like our KTV, so sometimes we don’t pay much attention," Jiang Rong apologized, shaking her head.

"Oh right, I remember that at the time, Zhou Zhi and Sun Qian were the closest at the KTV. Maybe I can call Sun Qian over; she lives in the staff dormitory. You can ask her. Maybe she knows something," Jiang Rong suddenly remembered.

"That’s helpful."

"No problem, it’s police and civilian cooperation."

Jiang Rong then made a call, and after about ten minutes, Sun Qian arrived wearing flannel pajamas and slippers, her hair a bit messy, her eyes still sleepy.

"Sister Rong, what couldn’t be said over the phone? I was with guests singing until after three last night, I’m exhausted," Sun Qian complained, yawning as she approached.

Jiang Rong quickly spoke up, "The officer wants to know some details, please cooperate and tell him everything you know."

Hearing that it was the police looking for her, Sun Qian instantly became alert and finally noticed Luo Fei standing next to her.

"Officer, you’re looking for me?" Sun Qian pointed at herself, suddenly nervous, worried that her previous actions of spending the night with a guest had been exposed.

"Yes, I want to know some details about Zhou Zhi," Luo Fei replied, then asked Sun Qian about the reason for Zhou Zhi’s departure from the KTV.

Hearing that the inquiry was about Zhou Zhi, Sun Qian’s previously tense heart finally relaxed.

Sun Qian then said, "Zhou Zhi leaving was actually because of Xiaoman. At the time in KTV, I, Zhou Zhi, and Xiaoman were the closest, but then Xiaoman disappeared for no reason. We reported it to the police, but there has never been any news of Xiaoman."
