Chapter 188: Chapter 188 Si Mingjing’s Heart Flutters, Mo Ye You Win!
Mo Yinhe returned from outside. As soon as he pushed open the door to the suite, he saw Si Mingjing curled up on the living room couch, her hands cradling her lower abdomen and her brows tightly furrowed, looking as if she were ill.
Mo Yinhe strode over and placed his hand on her forehead. She didn’t have a fever.
He asked softly, "What’s wrong? Does your stomach hurt?"
"It’s nothing."
Si Mingjing turned over, facing the back of the couch.
Not long after Ye Siyuan left, she felt a dull ache in her lower abdomen, coming in waves, like the sea crashing against her belly—sometimes intense, sometimes mild.
As a medical student, she obviously knew what this was about. But when it actually happened to her, Si Mingjing realized how hard it was to be a woman.
Mo Yinhe’s concern made him flustered, and he gently turned her body towards him. "Mingjing, what’s really wrong? Are you sick?"
Si Mingjing felt the pain growing more intense. If this continued, she really couldn’t bear it.
So she said to Mo Yinhe, "Is there a pharmacy here? I need painkillers."
There certainly wasn’t a traditional Chinese pharmacy on this island. Si Mingjing wanted a couple of Western painkillers; she had heard they could be lifesavers.
But Mo Yinhe said, "There’s no pharmacy on the island. Where does it hurt?"
"Never mind then," Si Mingjing said, resigned.
It seemed she would just have to endure it herself.
Si Mingjing bit her lip, her face gradually turning ashen.
Mo Yinhe was genuinely frightened. He shouted for Fengjue to go call the military doctor. He knew the principle that doctors shouldn’t treat themselves.
Si Mingjing gripped Mo Yinhe’s arm tightly, whispering, "Don’t call. I’m fine, I’m not sick."
After all, it was her first time. Si Mingjing felt too embarrassed to say what was wrong; she suddenly felt incredibly bashful.
"If there’s nothing wrong, why is your face so pale?"
Mo Yinhe felt very distressed seeing her pale face. He called for Fengjue twice before Fengjue finally came in from outside.
Si Mingjing didn’t want more people to know, so she grew anxious.
"It’s nothing, really nothing. Don’t call the military doctor. Even if he comes, it won’t help."
"How can the military doctor be of no help? Don’t underestimate my military doctor! Fengjue, go call the military doctor over, quickly!"
At that moment, Ye Siyuan entered from outside. Hearing the commotion, he also stopped Fengjue.
Seeing his older brother anxious and agitated, Ye Siyuan quickly walked over and whispered something into Mo Yinhe’s ear.
Mo Yinhe paused for a moment, then looked down at Si Mingjing.
Si Mingjing felt mortified under his gaze, wishing she could find a crack in the ground to crawl into. Annoyed, she picked up a cushion from the couch to cover her face. Just let her smash her head with the pillow and die! Her, Si Mingjing’s, illustrious reputation was about to be ruined today!
Of course, Mo Yinhe didn’t laugh at her. He leaned down, one hand supporting her back and the other under her knees, and simply lifted her into his arms.
"Fengjue, prepare the plane. Head to the nearest city."
He knew her constitution; when this pain struck, it was heart-wrenching, making the world spin, and often accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea... Without painkillers, it would be incredibly hard for her to bear. He could send someone to buy painkillers, but the round trip would take time. Every extra minute wasted was another minute she would have to suffer.
Therefore, Mo Yinhe decided to take her to the nearest city to buy painkillers.
"I’m fine, really. I just need to bear it for a while, and it’ll pass."
Si Mingjing tried to push Mo Yinhe away but failed. She looked for an excuse, saying, "Actually, it’s not that painful. I’ve heard that taking painkillers isn’t good for your health, and you could become dependent on the medication."
Mo Yinhe snapped at her, "What are you, some kind of traditionalist with outdated ideas? Who told you not to take medicine? Or do you think just drinking more hot water will make the pain go away?"
This man, why is he being so aggressive?
Si Mingjing was in too much pain to speak.
Mo Yinhe held her tightly, domineering yet tender, and in less than three minutes, they were on his private jet.
Mo Yinhe’s private jet was incredibly fast, easily more than ten times faster than commercial airliners, and it didn’t require a large tarmac. The operational requirements for takeoff and landing were minimal. His private jet was designed to spaceship-grade specifications and resembled a flying saucer. It landed directly in the nearest mainland city.
The journey took a mere fifteen minutes.
But during those fifteen minutes, Si Mingjing experienced waves of excruciating pain.
At first, she thought she could endure it, because what she had felt were merely waves, sometimes gentle, sometimes intense... But now, it felt as if her body was being battered by a tsunami!
The pain was so intense her vision blackened. Beads of cold sweat formed on her forehead. She also felt an urgent need for the toilet and had locked herself in the private jet’s restroom, unwilling to come out.
She had never been in such a wretched state in her entire life. She was someone who cared deeply about her dignity; ordinarily, she would never want anyone to see her in such a sorry state. But right now, she couldn’t spare a thought for such things...
Sitting on the toilet in the restroom, she yelled outside, "Mo Yinhe, have you bought the medicine?"
Mo Yinhe’s flying saucer had landed directly on the rooftop of a building in the nearest city. GPS showed that there was a pharmacy on the first floor of this building. He had already called the pharmacy to make sure they had the brand of painkillers he needed.
Mo Yinhe went to buy them himself. By the time Si Mingjing was shouting from the restroom, Mo Yinhe had already bought the painkillers and brought them back.
"I’ve got them, Darling. Open the door."
Si Mingjing walked out of the restroom, her legs weak.
Mo Yinhe picked her up and carried her to a recliner.
Afraid the water for taking her pills would be too hot and burn her mouth, Mo Yinhe had poured a cup of hot water when the saucer departed, leaving it aside to cool. By now, the temperature was just right, perfect for taking medicine.
Mo Yinhe held her in his arms, letting her lean on him. With one hand holding the warm water, he coaxed her to take the pills, "This brand of painkillers works fast. I promise you won’t feel pain five minutes after taking it. Be good, take a sip of water and swallow the pill. Careful not to burn your mouth."
"Yeah, I hope it works that fast."
Si Mingjing took the medicine and tried to get up from Mo Yinhe’s embrace.
Mo Yinhe wouldn’t let her. He took the blanket Fengjue handed over, covered her with it, and began to rub her stomach.
There are several acupoints near the navel which, when massaged during menstrual cramps, can alleviate pain. Mo Yinhe rubbed them accurately, his palm gentle yet forceful.
Si Mingjing couldn’t help but wonder, had he done this for Bai Jiusi many times before? Was that how he’d become so skilled?
Suddenly feeling jealous, she said, "You sure know a lot."
Mo Yinhe paused, then softly kissed her hair. "Mingjing, why do I smell a hint of jealousy?"
Si Mingjing’s heart skipped a beat. Mo Yinhe was suggesting she was jealous? He was overthinking things, wasn’t he?
With her stomach aching and her mood low, she mumbled, "That might be because I haven’t washed my hair in a few days."
Mo Yinhe was amused by her response. Seeing her pale little face, his heart ached for her. It really is tough being a woman, he thought, silently praying for the medicine to take effect quickly.
Si Mingjing took her own pulse. "I have a deficiency of kidney yang, and cold is congealing in my womb. It must be because I ate too much seafood today. I knew I shouldn’t have eaten seafood."
Si Mingjing spoke with conviction, yet her voice was faint. Even though Mo Yinhe was holding her and rubbing her stomach, and she felt it was rather improper, she lacked the strength to push him away. In fact, she found herself somewhat cherishing the contact.
Her mind wandered. If this man and Bai Jiusi had truly broken up for good, perhaps... perhaps considering a relationship with him wouldn’t be out of the question.
