Chapter 1 The First Magazine Cover Shoot
The first magazine cover shoot was done, and Rong Doudou continued to shoot for three more magazines. She spent the entire afternoon, shooting for several consecutive hours.
She could practically be called a workaholic.
However, Du Ruoxin also put in a lot of effort, fearing her daughter would get tired or irritable, and constantly thought of new ways to entertain her.
Rong Doudou found it all very novel and was having a blast, showing no signs of fatigue.
This perfectly exemplified the saying – a child's energy – one minute of charging, twenty-four hours of battery life.
But Du Ruoxin could barely take it, feeling like she was on the verge of a miscarriage from exhaustion…
Fortunately, it was only a near miss!
The baby was still sleeping soundly and healthily in her womb, but her back was sore and a little swollen.
Seeing the woman's pale face, Cristiano was already heartbroken. He made a move to hug her, but Du Ruoxin, sensing it a second beforehand, refused, "Don't hug me, it'll jolt me."
Pregnant women were most susceptible to jolting; a little too much jostling could directly cause the baby to be lost.
Cristiano dared not hug her forcefully and stood there, extremely anxious and helpless.
"What should I do?"
"What should I do now?"
Should he carry an obstetrician with him everywhere?
If a doctor could offer advice at this moment, he would know what to do.
Cristiano looked at the bodyguard beside him.
The bodyguard's back crawled with unease, and his face was filled with horror.
As an unmarried man, how would he know what to do when a pregnant woman had a sore and swollen back?
Don't look at him!
Give him a way to survive!
Du Ruoxin was displeased by her elder brother's tendency to lash out at innocent bystanders, and quickly said, "What are you looking at others for?"
"I'll take two minutes to recover, I can walk myself."
Du Ruoxin leaned on Caroline and said, "Let's go."
The bodyguard cast a grateful glance at his young lady – she had truly saved his life!
Cristiano: "..."
He wanted to tell Caroline to leave so he could help Du Ruoxin. But the words didn't leave his lips before the little trickster Rong Doudou tugged at his trousers, "Uncle, I'm so tired, let's ride a horse."
The person who was full of life just a moment ago had her battery completely drained as soon as the photoshoot ended.
The speed of her mood change was astonishing.
Cristiano hesitated, and Rong Doudou kept calling him "Uncle, Uncle, Uncle" with such a spoiled and playful demeanor that he couldn't refuse.
He crouched down, "Get on."
With the bodyguard's help, Rong Doudou successfully sat on her uncle's shoulders, kicked her little legs, "Giddy up, giddy up—"
"Uncle, charge!"
"Like a rocket, whoosh—"
Cristiano didn't hesitate; he acted on every command from Rong Doudou, running at full speed.
In the blink of an eye, the uncle and niece disappeared from sight.
Caroline: "—"
She had never seen this side of the man before.
It was simply—
Blinding her eyes!颠覆了她的认知!
Was this still the cold-blooded, heartless, inscrutable, and murderous lord she knew?
But then, Caroline shook her head in disappointment, because she knew that for a man with such severe dissociative tendencies like Cristiano, all his tenderness and good temper were given to Du Ruoxin.
Only Du Ruoxin could turn him into a normal man, a man with flesh and blood, an approachable and normal man.
Now, Rong Doudou was added to the list.
Perhaps feeling a pang of envy, Caroline blurted out without thinking, "I wonder if Clara is expecting a son or a daughter?"
"Will Mr. Rothschild be this good to 'him' too?"
