Chapter 839 The Fated One

Lu Fan glanced at the seven mountain peaks and headed towards the eastern one.

These seven peaks pierced the clouds, and none of them seemed ordinary. This meant he didn't have to overthink his choice.

Inside the mountain gate, Liuli saw that no one dared to challenge the sword formation and smiled, "Since no one dares to attempt it, this last spot will have to be forfeited!"

"We have come with sincere hearts to seek divination, can there be no flexibility?"

Several men spoke, their brows furrowed. They had tried earlier and found the sword formation very difficult to pass, which was why they hesitated.

"Shenji Mountain has its rules!"

Liuli waved her hand and signaled for the mountain protection array to be closed. Those not qualified to enter Shenji Mountain naturally could not.

The men were displeased but helpless. These were the rules of Shenji Mountain, and they dared not defy them.

At the summit of Jiulong Peak, Shen Ye flew over, accompanied by a few attendants.

"You need not follow!"

Shen Ye said, "I wish to converse with the Daoist."

"Princess, rest assured!"

Several guards cupped their fists. "We will wait here and ensure no one disturbs you!"

Shen Ye nodded slightly and then ascended the peak. She was no longer young, and her visit to Shenji Mountain this time was for the sake of her marital destiny.

At the summit of Jiulong Mountain stood a thatched hut. Beside the hut, an old man was watering flowers, exuding an air of leisurely grace.

"Daoist Jiulong, I have returned!"

Shen Ye smiled. "This is my third visit to Jiulong Peak. Last time, you said I would meet my destined one this time. Where might they be?"

"Princess, do not be anxious!"

Daoist Jiulong chuckled. "As the saying goes, destiny cannot be forced. Princess, why not play a game of chess with me and wait here for a moment?"

Shen Ye nodded slightly and sat down. She had waited for so many days; a few more hours would not matter.

Within Jiulong Peak, Lu Fan's figure soared upwards. After a while, he reached the summit. As he was about to proceed, he was stopped by several people. "The Princess is inside. Unauthorized individuals are not permitted to enter."

Lu Fan frowned. "I am here to seek divination, and the Princess is also here for divination. Why am I not allowed in?"

"Presumptuous! How dare you compare yourself to the Princess."

The lead guard stared coldly at Lu Fan. If this were not Shenji Mountain, Lu Fan would likely be in danger today.

Lu Fan was quite displeased. He hadn't expected seeking divination to cause such unpleasantness.

Just then, another figure arrived from behind. "What is the meaning of this? All visitors to Shenji Mountain are esteemed guests. Why are you blocking the way?"

"The Princess is conversing with the Daoist inside," the lead guard said, cupping his fists. "We ask everyone to wait here."

"Shenji Mountain does not have such rules."

Liuli spoke, "If my master were to know, you would likely be punished today."

The guards frowned but dared not say more. The person before them was the senior disciple of Shenji Mountain, holding considerable status, someone they could not afford to offend.

"You, come with me!"

Liuli glanced at Lu Fan and then strode towards the thatched hut on the peak. Her demeanor was calm, and the guards beside her dared not obstruct them.

Lu Fan did not hesitate and quickly followed. Having someone to clear the path was indeed quite beneficial.

Upon reaching the summit, Liuli saw Daoist Jiulong and Shen Ye playing chess, seemingly evenly matched.

"The Princess is young, yet her chess skills are remarkably refined."

Daoist Jiulong smiled. "This old man admits defeat."

Shen Ye smiled and was about to speak when she noticed Lu Fan beside her, her brow furrowing slightly.

"If my guess is correct, young brother, you are also here to seek divination?"

Daoist Jiulong smiled. "Please, come and sit here."

"Thank you, Senior!"

Lu Fan cupped his fists and then approached the thatched hut. He appeared quite humble. The old man before him possessed a powerful aura, likely not an ordinary person.

Yet, he spoke so courteously, which was worthy of respect.

"I have already calculated the divination you sought, young brother!"

Daoist Jiulong produced a piece of paper. "This is the answer you requested."

Lu Fan was somewhat astonished. Before he could even speak, Daoist Jiulong had already calculated it for him. If he truly possessed such abilities, it was indeed awe-inspiring.

Opening the slip of paper, Lu Fan saw the three large characters "San Jiao Yu" and felt even more perplexed. "Senior, have you misunderstood? I am not going there."

"Tongtian Academy is located in San Jiao Yu!"

Daoist Jiulong stated directly, "Where the three great dynasties converge is San Jiao Yu, and Tongtian Academy is also there!"

"So that's how it is!"

Lu Fan cupped his fists slightly, his heart filled with excitement. Shenji Mountain truly lived up to its reputation; it had calculated his need before he even voiced it, a feat of divine craftsmanship.

"Thank you for your reminder, Senior. What shall I offer as a reward?" Lu Fan asked again.

"Your arrival at Jiulong Peak signifies that you and I have a connection. What need is there for a reward?"

Daoist Jiulong smiled. "Consider it a good deed!"

"In that case, thank you very much!"

Lu Fan stood up slightly and then turned to leave. He now knew the answer, and his journey had been worthwhile.

After Lu Fan turned and left, Shen Ye frowned. "Daoist, you wouldn't happen to mean that my destined one is him, would you?"

"Indeed!"

Daoist Jiulong nodded. "You and he do have an unresolved connection!"

"Based on him?"

Shen Ye frowned. "I am the dignified Princess Taiyan; how can he be worthy of me? Has the Daoist miscalculated?"

"This old man's calculations are never wrong," Daoist Jiulong shook his head. "If the Princess does not believe me, I have nothing more to say."

"Since the Daoist has said so, I understand."

Shen Ye nodded slightly and then rose to leave. In her eyes, her destined one would surely be a peerless hero who could dominate a region.

But she never imagined it would be the person from just now. If that were truly the case, she would rather remain unmarried for life than compromise herself.

After Shen Ye departed, Daoist Jiulong sighed. "The world knows my divine calculations are peerless, yet if they are not to their liking, they still refuse to believe."

"Master, there is no need for that."

Liuli quickly said, "The Princess did not outright say she didn't believe you just now, so why must you be so concerned?"

"To reveal heavenly secrets is to hasten one's demise."

Daoist Jiulong waved his hand. "Although the Princess did not explicitly state it, I could see the murderous intent in her eyes."

"Then, doesn't that mean the person from just now is in danger?" Liuli said hurriedly.

"If the Princess does not fancy him, she will find a way to destroy him."

Daoist Jiulong stated directly. "I should not have revealed this matter. If it leads to his death, it would be a grave sin."

"Master, do not worry, I will go and warn him immediately!"

Liuli spoke and then left the thatched hut, not daring to disobey her master's command.

"Princess, should we return now?"

The lead guard spoke. "His Majesty does not know we have come out this time. If he is to blame us, we fear we cannot bear the consequences!"
