Chapter 937 Two Old Men

Facing the man before him, Lu Fan felt a touch of awkwardness. He didn't recognize this person, but from the tone, it was clear he was also from the Kyushu Eighteen Sects.

"Xu Fei, are you done causing trouble?" Sister Zhao glared. "What happened today is no small matter. Whether he lives or not is still unknown. You should know Grandpa Chen's temper!"

"Of course, I know!" Xu Fei chuckled. "But didn't Grandpa Han say it? He's vouching for this marriage. With Grandpa Han here, he won't be in any danger!"

"Indeed!" Old Man Han nodded. "Since I've guaranteed it, there will be no trouble!"

Sister Zhao appeared somewhat helpless, not saying much more, but her worry was evident. Old Man Han had always been unreliable. If this matter went awry, Lu Fan would likely be in grave danger.

As they were conversing, a group of uninvited guests arrived outside the courtyard. It was Chen Xian'er and a host of Chen family experts.

"Old Man Chen, you've arrived at just the right time. I have something I need to discuss with you!" Old Man Han said with a smile.

"There's no need to discuss. I will absolutely not agree!" Old Man Chen stated coldly. "You should know that Xian'er is my precious granddaughter. Only a select few are worthy of her."

"I certainly know!" Old Man Han nodded repeatedly. "But my grandson is no ordinary person. I actually think they are quite well-matched!"

Old Man Chen was unconvinced. He glanced at Lu Fan, and seemed to dismiss him entirely, as if Lu Fan were merely an ordinary individual in his eyes.

"What is so extraordinary about him?" Old Man Chen asked coldly. "He seems very ordinary to me. How can he be compared to my Xian'er?"

"Some things are not easy to explain. I'll tell you when we have time!" Old Man Han smiled. "Could it be that I would harm Xian'er?"

Old Man Chen was puzzled. He couldn't fathom what couldn't be said, that Old Man Han had made it all so mysterious.

"Congratulations, Sister Xian'er, on your upcoming wedding!" Xu Fei chimed in with a smile, but his tone carried a certain implication.

At these words, Chen Xian'er's expression instantly darkened. "Xu Fei, are you looking for a beating? Believe it or not, I'll go tell Grandpa Xu to teach you a good lesson!"

"No, no! I was just joking. Don't take it to heart!" Xu Fei quickly explained. He already had a poor reputation within the Kyushu Eighteen Sects. If he were to have another complaint lodged against him, his grandfather would surely beat him to death.

"Old Man Chen, may I speak with you privately?" Old Man Han chuckled, leading Old Man Chen into the house as if they had some secrets to share.

Witnessing this scene, Sister Zhao grew somewhat suspicious. Lu Fan wasn't particularly close to Old Man Han, but Old Man Han's actions were quite surprising. After all, under normal circumstances, Old Man Han wouldn't be so invested in Lu Fan's affairs.

"Could it be that this kid is Old Man Han's illegitimate grandson?" Xu Fei asserted confidently, as if it were all true.

"Don't you dare spout nonsense!" Sister Zhao glared. "If Grandpa Han finds out, who knows how he'll punish you!"

"I'm telling the truth!" Xu Fei stated with a serious expression, as if it were all fact.

Lu Fan stood by, a look of despair in his eyes. His own life was no longer within his control, a profound sorrow for him.

"Even if he is Grandpa Han's illegitimate grandson, he shouldn't be doing something like this!" Chen Xian'er remarked. "I've never seen someone like him. If it weren't for Grandpa Han, I would have dealt with him long ago!"

"Don't be too impulsive in your actions. I actually think this brother here is quite good," Xu Fei said with a smile. "Facing such a significant matter, yet he appears unfazed."

"Don't speak sarcastically here!" Chen Xian'er said coldly. "This matter doesn't concern you. Why are you here?"

"I'm here to join in the fun!" Xu Fei smiled. "What? Am I not even allowed to join the fun?"

"Of course, you can!" Chen Xian'er cast him a sideways glance. "But don't interfere with me."

After speaking, Chen Xian'er shot Lu Fan a fierce glare, then waited for her grandfather to emerge. She knew very well that Old Man Chen doted on her and would never allow her to be wronged. No matter what Old Man Han said today, Lu Fan wouldn't survive
