Chapter 87: Devastating Fight

Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Devastating Fight

Another gigantic figure had joined the fight, right before the massive snake reached Cassias.

Their hearts grew heavy as they witnessed the battleground in front of them. On the grassy land just beside the road, two figures tangled with each other.

The tiger roared. Its black stripes and golden fur added a touch of majesty as the forest king tried to bite the snake’s body. The snake slithered away, swinging its tail at the tiger’s head.

One mutated animal — the snake, and they already couldn’t handle it. What about another one — the tiger? Thankfully, they seemed to have a feud with each other and didn’t target them.

Or maybe not yet, waiting for the fight to have its winner...

"Don’t just sit there if you want to live." Cassias’ words snapped at them, knocking on the car’s window.

The men inside recovered their senses in an instant, realizing the perilous situation they were in. They opened the car door.

"Mr. Virethorn..." the driver said in a breathless voice. His eyes followed the two tangling figures briefly, then he looked back to the cold-faced Cassias, whose mood seemed to have gone worse.

"I am sorry for what I did. I realized that I had been rash. In the moment of panic, I..." he trailed off. In the end, he repeated, "It’s my fault."

Cassias’ eyebrows knitted together. "You can’t start the car?"

The driver scratched the back of his head. "Yes, should we try again to see if it can work or not?"

"But..." he took a deep breath and uttered what he worried the most, "Will the voice attract the two beasts?"

"No." Cassias shook his head. "This car can’t work anymore."

The driver fell silent.

At this moment, Darren had gotten out of the car and walked over to them, his face grim. The driver pursed his lips, staring at his superior as if waiting for any words of rebuke.

"There’s a problem with the car?" Darren asked Cassias. Since he found out that Cassias had mental power ability, he guessed he must have used his power to scan the car to detect any problems.

"The car doesn’t work anymore. The engine threw a rod," Cassias explained, seeing Darren’s frown deepen.

They were in an urgent situation.

"There are six people with only three cars left. The arrangement is like this: three people should go in Cassias’ car. Two in my car, and the last person should go to the second car." Darren told them, showing off his leadership skills under the pressure.

"Hurry up! Divide yourself and get out of the car while those beasts are still occupied," he somberly ordered these people.

They hurriedly got out of the car as though ghosts were chasing them.

Cassias led the three people to his car. To be able to accommodate more people, they had to fold the folding bed, forcing Meira and Isryn to get out first.

Meira pursed her lips, scooting closer to Isryn in fright. After they were done, they hurriedly climbed back into the car.

Meanwhile, on the beasts’ side, the situation was getting dire. They seemed to be evenly matched. Blood coated their respective fur and scales.

The snake coiled around the tiger’s body. The tiger struggled, roaring as it bit whatever part of the snake was presented to its mouth. As a result, the snake hissed in pain, loosening its grip, which made its opponent take this chance to jump away.

Darren started to drive away after he saw everything was settled. The other cars followed, driving very quickly.

However... Darren almost didn’t brake in time. His blood boiled, and his eyes filled with trepidation, gasping for breath.

In front of the car, there was a gigantic snake. Its body part was torn all over. Once the gleaming scales had turned into mangled flesh riddled with wounds.

"This is the territory of the tiger..." Zerra muttered, wide-eyed.

The second car hit Darren’s car, almost sending the car jerking forward and hitting the python if not for Darren hurriedly erecting an earth shield. The car hit the earth shield, stopping in time.

Luckily, the cars didn’t break down like the other one, merely filled with scratching marks. They could still use the car.

The snake lifted its head, glancing briefly at them coldly before the tiger entangled with it again. The tiger was relentless, and most likely Zerra’s conjecture was right. It was tiger territory. The snake accidentally did something to anger it.

The tiger would throw the snake and chase after it a few times. However, the snake was also tenacious, still alive despite what the tiger had done, though it also showed obvious signs of weakening.

Darren pulled back the car, intending to avoid their battlefield but still intent on crossing the road.

All of a sudden, the snake’s eyes glinted coldly, followed by the tiger’s roar. They were once again shocked by what had happened in front of them.

The snake was pretending to be weak and now swallowing the tiger!

Darren hit the pedal gas; knowing that once the tiger was inside the snake’s belly, it would be their turn.

He just didn’t expect that the swallowing process was too fast. In a few seconds, the tiger was completely inside its belly without a chance to fight back.

Now, the snake slithered to their cars, bringing its heavy body that still had a massive bump on it. Their hearts lurched into their stomachs.

Cassias got out of the car. His voice rang loudly in their ears. "Fight it. It’s weak now after a fight with the tiger. Anyone who has offensive abilities should band together against it."

Zerra’s eyes flickered, and she saw some hesitation in people’s eyes.

Nyra was the first to get out after Cassias. Really deserving of the female lead. Seeing her like this, Darren also had no choice but to follow.

The snake hissed as if finding the human’s actions a joke, slithering toward Nyra. Until it belatedly realized there was a ball of fire heading its way.

Too late to dodge, the ball of fire scorched its scales. The snake writhed painfully.

Everyone had already got out of their cars at this moment. Cassias took out his longsword, channeling the power of lightning to strike the snake.

The struggling snake’s tail hit the closest member, and a huge gash formed on the person’s arm. Zerra jumped out of the car, helping the wounded person while also using her pitchfork to stab its tail.

Each of them had their own role. After Zerra helped the person to stand up, she brought him to the car, letting Isryn heal them.

She was as nimble as a fox, helping anyone who could not fight anymore. Sometimes, she would stab the snake and run away.

With so many people attacking it, the snake was in a rage. It picked the closest target, Darren, and coiled itself around him.

While the snake was occupied, Cassias took this chance to gather the power in his hand and chopped some part of its tail.

"Thanks... Cassias," gasped Darren, putting up another earth wall when its head came crashing toward him again.

The huge bump of the tiger was still there, and at this moment, it twitched. A shocking scene occurred. Just as the snake slithered to find another target, a powerful force burst open.

The tiger, just as tenacious, tore open the snake’s body. The snake flailed, hissing loudly. Cassias chopped down again, injuring it deeper.

"Move away!" He ordered, chopping a few more times, sucking in a deep breath with each swing. Then, he stepped away, watching as the snake was on its death throes after he chopped its body in half.

Zerra, who had just jumped out of the car, raised her eyebrows. She was about to take a step to her right when she noticed a figure dragging itself toward her.

The tiger.

It was wet all over because of the snake’s digestive stomach juices.

Just as she thought that it was about to bite her, it handed her something over.
