Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Travelling Again!
It’s been two days since Alex met his old friend Satyansh and they talked about Satyansh’s girlfriend over the drinks.
In the morning.
Alex had just finished making his breakfast when his phone started ringing abruptly.
When Alex finally picked up the call, the caller ID displayed Satyansh.
Alex was surprised that his friend was calling with such urgency, as he has 5 missed called on his phone when he was making the breakfast.
Alex heard Satyansh’s disorderly breath the moment the call went through.
His voice was shaking with excitement, as if his emotions were overflowing.
It was restless, unstable, almost desperate sounding.
"Brother Alex, You finally pick up the phone, where are you I need you!" Satyansh exclaimed straight away.
"I thought over your idea that you have given me. I’ve made up my mind already this time I want to do it! Help me this time one time!"
Alex knit his brow in suspicion.
"What’s the matter? Yesterday you clearly declined, you said you need time to think about it. What happened today?
"Cool down first, Satyansh. Speak plainly and what has happened to you?"
Satyansh’s words spilled out quickly, almost tripping over one another but he still continued.
"It’s like this, Alex.
Today, I caught Vicky, that bastard and another girl strolling, he was with her around the shopping complex together as if nothing happened."
He breathed in deeply and went on, voice laced with anger. "Prior to this, I saw Vicky’s social media posts online.
He kept whining about how he ’couldn’t forget Sophie.’ But look at him now!"
"Clearly, he was toying with Sophie earlier."
"He just turned right around and began dating some new girl after her, acting like nothing was wrong.
Do you know how angry this makes me? He lied to Sophie the entire time!"
Alex arched an eyebrow. "Huh?"
He couldn’t help but think that this was odd.
"So you’ve made up your mind now? You really are determined to take care of Vicky this time?"
"Yes!"
Satyansh’s voice was adamant about it, even bordering on being cruel.
"Thanks Man!, thank you very much.
That man had the audacity to play games with Sophie’s heart.
She’s been pining over him for so long, and he goes and treats her like this?"
"Alex, I considered it the whole night yesterday.
Your suggestion is the best for the current situation . Use money to test Vicky resolve, find out if he is really sincere with being Sophie or not!"
Alex slowly nodded, a tiny smile forming on his lips. Since his friend was so stubborn, he couldn’t possibly sit out of the situation.
In addition, he found the entire thing... thrilling to say the least.
Throwing money on people....ahh I can’t help but imagine it.
"Fine then," Alex replied calmly. "Keep Sophie under constant surveillance. When the next time she meets up with Vicky, or even just sees him, let me know right away. I will take it from there."
"Great!" Satyansh replied thickly, his voice brimming with relief and rage at the same time. "Brother Alex, this time I will leave everything to you. Let us reveal Vicky for what he actually is!"
Alex leaned back in his chair after hanging up.
He smiled to himself.
This scheme was not just for the sake of assisting Satyansh in his situation, it was also a welcome opportunity to attempt something exciting.
After hanging up the phone, Alex completed his breakfast and set out for his next adventure in Ancient World.
He first worn his Security uniform.
Check the time travel time stored in it and the provisions for the warehouse, only making sure it is full then he thought in his mind to travel.
Travel.
With a blinding light, a black vortex opened behind him and sucked him, anchoring him to the Ancient world timeline at the warehouse where he left last time.
——————
Ironhold City.
A burst of white light illuminated the warehouse suddenly as Alex reemerged, emerging from the time portal with unwavering assurance.
This time he traveled into the other world again, having two tasks in mind to accomplish this time.
The first one was to help Lady Evelyn find the secret den of the bandits in the Mangshan Mountains.
The second one was to replenish the warehouse with goods, which would be traded later for wealth.
This time he has brought so many things that, it might not be a lie to say that he can let the people of famine ridden Ironhold eat their fills one time.
This time he has brought many things such as:
One thousand packages of mineral water.
One hundred bags of rice.
One hundred bags of corn.
.....
One hundred kilograms of meat.
And many more....each weighing one hundred kilograms each.
While his security uniform’s system was only capable of transferring a hundred-square-meter load at a time, even that was sufficient to fill the warehouse full to the brim with goods.
The empty building was now brimming with supplies, every corner full of crates and sacks of provisions.
Alex looked at the system interface on his suit and grumbled, "Because the system has not been upgraded yet, I can only stay here for eight hours with a full battery."
I have to make every second count. The bandits’ lair has to be located today.
He looked down at the little black case in his hand.
Within lay the specially designed Ninja UAV drone, a high-tech drone he had set aside for surveillance before travelling.
Taking it outside, Alex unrolled a tattered map which Lord Hartwell had given him previously at his last time travel.
The map presented the general outline of the Mangshan Mountains.
To modern people eyes, map was very crude and not complete lacking many details in terrain and vegetations.
But a crude map was sufficient for Alex.
With it, Alex could atleast tell the general direction of the Mangshan range in relation to Ironhold, and that was sufficient for him to locate the bandits hideout.
