Chapter 135 - 135 Iron Fist

Li Ang shook his head, lifted the lamp post, and pointed it at Lu Gui on the second floor. "Throughout my life, I, King Han, have never had to explain my actions to anyone."

Before he finished speaking, Li Ang had already hurled the lamp post like a javelin. The jagged, broken iron tip of the post tore through the air like a blade, speeding towards Lu Gui.

Terrified, Lu Maodian and Lu Maocai had no time to react before Lu Gui grasped the Wooden Long Stick with both hands and slammed it hard onto the floor.

A Gale, driven by Mana, erupted from the Wooden Long Stick and shot outwards, colliding head-on with the flying lamp post. It barely altered the metal post's trajectory, sending it smashing into the wall behind the three men.

CLANG!

The tip of the lamp post, like a spearhead, embedded itself deep into the concrete wall, its end still vibrating and buzzing loudly.

The spray of dislodged stone hit Lu Gui's back, nearly causing the old man to stumble.

Before he could straighten up, Li Ang bent his knees slightly and leaped. Hooking his palm around the stair railing, he flipped onto the second floor.

His feet pushed off the wall in quick succession. Swift as a hare and diving falcon, he was already in front of Lu Gui. "Take my Iron Fist!" he bellowed, smashing a punch towards Lu Gui's face.

Though old and frail, Lu Gui barely managed to wave his Wooden Long Stick just before the fist struck his head, summoning a Gale to block it.

Li Ang stopped short, retracted his fist to dodge the blade-like wind, then reached into his backpack. POP! POP! He pulled out a silenced handgun and shot Lu Gui twice in the knees.

Lu Gui felt a sharp pain in his knees and collapsed, howling miserably.

Li Ang didn't approach. Instead, he stood his ground and fired two more shots into Lu Gui's shoulders.

Only after crippling all four limbs did he nonchalantly pull the lamp post from the wall and swat the Wooden Long Stick from Lu Gui's grasp.

Collapsed on the ground, Lu Gui struggled to lift his head. He glared venomously at Li Ang. "Didn't you say you'd use your fists? Why did you shoot?"

"You don't get it, do you? This gun's name *is* Iron Fist."

Li Ang chuckled, waving the silenced handgun. "Hesitation means defeat. My fist technique is invincible!"

"You..." Lu Gui's face turned a deep red. "Shameless!"

"Still cursing? Is your mouth coated in honey?"

Li Ang rebuked him sternly, "You can still speak now. You might as well say a bit more while you have the chance."

Evidently, Li Ang's threat was effective. Lu Gui obediently shut his mouth, though his eyes still burned with bitter resentment.

Li Ang wasted no more words with him. He held the lamp post, its broken metal tip hovering and swaying above Lu Gui, as if searching for where to strike first.

"Wait a minute!"

Lu Gui's eldest son, Lu Maodian, cried out. Once he had Li Ang's attention, he stammered, "You... you're the one the Information Broker sent, aren't you?"

Li Ang narrowed his eyes but didn't respond.

His silence greatly boosted Lu Maodian's confidence. He exhaled in relief and said quickly, "Yes, it has to be you! You're 'one of those people'."

Seeing Li Ang's silent but attentive demeanor, Lu Maodian continued, "I'm your employer, remember? Five hundred thousand to hire you to deal with the supernatural event here. If you're not satisfied with the compensation, I can increase it. One million. How about that?"

Li Ang tilted his head in thought. Then, he loosened his grip on the lamp post slightly, letting its sharp iron tip pierce Lu Gui's back. Lu Gui howled in agony.

"Two million!" Lu Maodian said hastily. "It's in the safe upstairs! If you want more, I can get you another three million in liquid funds within a week!"

Wow, truly the boss of a construction company, so quick to offer a fortune.

"I think you've misunderstood something."

Li Ang shook his head and stated calmly, "I am a killer with professional integrity. I said I would resolve the supernatural event, and so I must."

Veins throbbed on Lu Maodian's forehead, and his lips trembled. He fought back his anger and said, as politely as he could, "...Then, could you please go after that Monster? Why are you attacking us?!"

Li Ang grinned. "Didn't I tell you? The pigs in this village are too fat."

Right after he returned to the village from digging up the graves, Lu Maocai and the others had failed in their attempt to kidnap Wei Linglan, carrying Shi Kangjian back instead.

During that period, the rain shrouding Dusheng Village had begun to subside, and Cat's Eye's Spiritual Sense detection function reactivated.

Throughout the entire village, the Energy fluctuations were strongest in two places.

One was Village Chief Lu Gui's house, where the Altar Array was located. The other was in the pigsties of certain farmhouses.

Li Ang casually ripped a lamp post from the roadside. He entered a pigsty that clearly hadn't been cleaned in ages, used the post to drive away the fattened pigs, and then dug into a deep, thick pile of muck in the corner.

In that pile of muck, he found numerous small bone fragments and a lot of hair, some still attached to scalps.

Long, black hair.

The most up-to-date version is on *.

Now, Li Ang slowly shifted his gaze to the first floor.

With the Altar Array destroyed, the rain over Dusheng Village gradually weakened and then stopped. At some point, a disheveled, ghostly figure had appeared outside the villa's broken main door, crawling on all fours.

It—or rather, she—wore a muddy, tattered, pale-yellow dress. Her face was obscured by a mess of hair matted with leaves and dust, making her features unrecognizable. Yet, from her snow-white skin and the figure visible beneath the ruined dress, one could surmise she had been a serene and graceful young woman in life.

"KEKEKEKE..."

Her limbs twisted like a spider's, she crouched outside the door, her gaze fixed with utmost venom on the villagers inside the villa.

"Good evening."

Li Ang whistled, greeting the creature outside. He showed no intention of attacking or defending.

The Monster also seemed to realize that Li Ang was the one who had shattered Dusheng Village's barrier for her. She remained prostrate on the ground, motionless, as if awaiting Li Ang's verdict.

The villagers cowered in a corner, watching as Li Ang grabbed Lu Gui by the scruff of his neck, like a dog, and lifted the once-respected village chief into the air.

Li Ang vaulted down to the first floor and walked directly to a small room at the back of the living room.

He scanned the room. Its floor was entirely wooden. It was furnished with several automatic mahjong tables, air conditioning, fans, sofas, and lounge chairs—all the comforts of home.
