The first light of dawn

Chapter 505 Everyone Has The Right To Lose Their Temper

Jiang Yukuo's eyes had already caught the speeding car. Instead of moving, he stood his ground, his starry eyes filled with murderous intent, staring at the approaching vehicle. The speed clearly indicated an intent to kill him.

Mu Jiuchen, seeing his son standing still, felt a surge of terror. He rushed towards his son with all his might.

However, at the critical moment, Jiang Yukuo's small body leaped up and landed on the car's hood.

"Screech..." The driver, never having witnessed such a scene, slammed on the brakes. The car spun twice before coming to a halt, by which time Jiang Yukuo had already jumped off.

As the car stopped spinning, a smell of burnt rubber filled the street.

Mu Jiuchen was stunned. His son possessed such an ability!

Furious, Jiang Yukuo ran over, yanked open the car door, pulled the driver out, and clenched his fist, savagely pounding the driver's face.

It had to be said, in the art of striking, father and son were remarkably similar.

"Ahhh..." the driver cried out in pain.

"Stop hitting me, it hurts, it hurts so much!"

Jiang Yukuo's small, iron fists rained down like a deluge, beating the driver to the point of not recognizing his own mother, before Jiang Yukuo finally ceased his enraged assault.

Looking at the driver, he demanded, "Speak! Who sent you to kill me? If you don't, I'll kill you right now."

The driver had never anticipated such terrifying malevolence from a child. The pain was so intense that tears streamed uncontrollably from his eyes.

"I... I don't know, I was just paid to do it," the driver stammered, unable to even open his eyes.

If he had known this child was so terrifying, he would never have driven straight at him!

"Fine! If you don't tell the truth, I'll beat you to death right now!" Jiang Yukuo raised his small fist, about to strike without hesitation, but Mu Jiuchen blocked him.

"Ku Bao, leave it to Dad to handle, okay?" Mu Jiuchen looked at his son's reddened, anxious face with heartache.

The killing intent in his eyes was chilling!

"Let me go." Jiang Yukuo's anger hadn't subsided, and he still didn't want to acknowledge his errant father.

"Ku Bao, be good. I'll make him wish he were dead." Mu Jiuchen's anger burned like a flame. How could he possibly let go of someone who tried to harm his son?

Only then did Jiang Yukuo release the driver.

Mu Jiuchen called Xiao Fan to come and handle the situation.

Then, he took his son aside to wait.

Jiang Yukuo lowered his head, silent, his handsome face clouded with gloom.

Mu Jiuchen's dark gaze rested on him for a moment before he explained, "The woman you saw earlier, I saved her from some thugs a few days ago. I suspect she's intentionally approaching me. Like today, she seems to know my whereabouts perfectly."

Jiang Yukuo's handsome brows furrowed sharply. He looked at his father and asked, "You're not lying to me?"

Mu Jiuchen ruffled his son's hair, a hint of helplessness in his expression. "Silly boy, would Dad lie to you?"

Jiang Yukuo immediately turned his head away, muttering, "Who knows if you're lying to me?"

"If you don't believe me, you can ask Xiao Fan." Mu Jiuchen didn't explain further.

Ku Bao was very intelligent; once he calmed down, he would figure it out himself.

Jiang Yukuo also realized that the woman's imitation of his mother's demeanor was obvious in its intent. Coupled with the car accident he had just experienced, connecting these events, it wasn't hard to guess that it was either his father's enemy or his mother's foe.

Upon realizing this, Jiang Yukuo felt much better.

Xiao Fan arrived quickly and took the driver away.

Mu Jiuchen took his son's small hand. "Let's go, Dad will take you to buy bicycles and then pick up Yunyun."

Jiang Yukuo looked at his father awkwardly. Having spoken so harshly earlier, he felt embarrassed to get into the car now.

But in that moment, his heart had ached. How could his father embrace another woman? That embrace belonged only to his mother.

Mu Jiuchen seemed to sense his son's discomfort. He crouched down, pinched Jiang Yukuo's small face, and said, "Ku Bao, everyone has the right to lose their temper, and so do you. What happened earlier is in the past. Don't say things like that again. Dad wants no one but your mother in this life."

"Really!" Jiang Yukuo still harbored some doubt.

"You'll know in the future." Mu Jiuchen slowly stood up, his tall figure casting a shadow over his son's small frame.

In the sunlight, the father and son, their backs to the light, exuded the same imposing aura.

Mu Jiuchen led him back into the car and sent a message to Xiao Fan.

He told Xiao Fan about encountering Wen Nuan at the hospital, stating that it was impossible for this woman to appear by his side so coincidentally.

After giving his instructions, he drove back to pick up his daughter to go buy bicycles.

Wen Nuan had witnessed the entire ordeal. She felt a pang of unease. Jiang Yukuo was too formidable, having dodged the car so effectively. She wondered if Mu Jiuchen would suspect anything.

Three hours later, Jiang Yukuo and Jiang Siyun received the bicycles they had chosen at the specialty store.

As soon as the car arrived, Mu Jiuchen installed them for the brother and sister. The siblings mounted their bikes, wobbling precariously as they learned to ride in the yard.

Mu Jiuchen held his daughter's bicycle, teaching her how to ride.

"Look ahead, don't look at the front wheel, and pedal with force."

The brother and sister followed his instructions, feeling that they were riding much more steadily than before.

"Heh heh..." Jiang Siyun couldn't help but giggle with delight. "Dad, this bicycle is lighter than my friend's, but I don't feel much from my feet."

Mu Jiuchen smiled. "Use the brakes, I'll adjust it for you."

Jiang Siyun stopped, and Mu Jiuchen adjusted the gears, letting his daughter try again.

This time, Jiang Siyun felt much better when she rode.

About an hour later, the brother and sister were riding with practiced ease.

Mu Jiuchen stayed in the yard, accompanying them. He made sure to set aside time each day to spend with his children. Watching their innocent smiles filled him with happiness.

In the afternoon, Jiang Siyun went to bathe and change, putting on a luxurious princess dress that she rarely wore.

Then, she went downstairs to wait for her uncle to pick her up.

Jiang Siyun was tall, her height already far exceeding that of her peers.

Dressed in the princess gown, she was so beautiful that one couldn't take their eyes off her.

Mu Jiuchen pursed his lips as he looked at his daughter. The banquet they were attending tonight was a regular affair. Lu Jinyue had been invited by a friend, and during their conversation, he discovered they were going to the same place as Yunyun. Lu Jinyue had initially intended to decline, but upon hearing that Yunyun would be there, he decided to attend.

Jiang Yukuo noticed his father's displeased expression and then looked at the cheerful Yunyun, muttering, "Could it be that they're going to see that big pig's foot, Xiao Zeye?"

Mu Jiuchen instantly captured the important information. His children couldn't be treated as ordinary children; their minds were quite mature.

"Who?" He seemed to have heard this name before; it sounded familiar.

"Xiao Zeye! The boy who broke my hand in a match last time. He's about 13 years old this year, the campus heartthrob at our school, and a top talent, skilled in both academics and martial arts."

Jiang Yukuo looked at his sister thoughtfully.

Without his notice, had his sister's relationship with Xiao Zeye grown closer?

"When we go to the martial arts hall, Xiao Zeye often brings delicious food for Yunyun," Jiang Yukuo added.

Mu Jiuchen lowered his gaze and asked him, "Did he not bring any for you guys?"

"He did, but we didn't like it. Everything he brought was what Yunyun likes to eat."

Mu Jiuchen: "..." Truly a big pig's foot.
