Chapter 11 The Dam Breaks

Tang Li also watched the drama with great interest.

This kind of thing could only be seen in the early stages of the apocalypse. In the later stages, one wouldn't even be able to witness it.

After this incident, it would likely be more difficult for anyone else to borrow food and blankets in the future.

But none of this concerned Tang Li.

Soon, it was Tang Li's turn to collect her supplies.

The supplies had already been portioned out.

Six packs of instant noodles, three packs of bread, three sausage sticks, and three bags of biscuits were packed into one bag, and ten bottles of mineral water into another, just enough for her to carry with two hands.

Tang Li presented her QR code to be scanned, and then collected her supplies.

When asked if she wanted to exchange any of her stored fresh ingredients for ready-to-eat meals or other supplies, Tang Li decisively refused.

She was not short of supplies, nor did she want to spend more time queuing.

Moreover, she knew that the food she had at home, as long as it could be preserved, would become more valuable the later it got.

So, after collecting her supplies, she went home.

By this time, it was already very late.

After going out, Tang Li felt sticky all over, covered in sweat.

Without continuing her combat skill training, she put away her laptop, power bank, and other items in the living room back into her space.

The two basins of ice in the living room had completely melted into water, which Tang Li also put back into her space.

Then, she filled her bedroom with basins and bottles of ice cubes, stacking them in a pyramid shape, and used a fan to blow at these ice cubes.

Closing her bedroom door, Tang Li first went to the bathroom to take a shower and changed into her pajamas.

When she returned to the bedroom, it was already quite cool inside.

The bedroom was pitch black.

Tang Li did not turn on the light and walked directly to the bedroom window.

At this time, the rain in City A had lessened considerably.

Standing by the window, she could see lights on on the third floor of every building and every unit, with people moving about in the corridors.

On the water surface below, many assault boats were shuttling back and forth, transporting supplies in the rain.

Even though the natural disaster was merciless, there were still people who braved the dangers, escorting the affected masses and delivering essential living supplies.

This was in the high-rise buildings of City A's urban area.

Tang Li knew that in the towns and villages outside the city, in the bungalows below the high-rise buildings, there were countless more disaster victims being escorted by rescue teams to safe zones.

And although the typhoon had moved away from City A, it had not dissipated.

It would continue westward, passing through many rivers and lakes.

The massive amount of water it carried would cause the rate of flood discharge from dams to far exceed the rate of rainfall.

Even though the authorities had long since taken measures, releasing and draining major reservoirs in advance at the risk of the previous high temperatures, the sudden heavy rain had still overwhelmed many dams.

Tonight, many embankments would breach, releasing a torrent of water.

And City A was located downstream of these embankments!

Tang Li slowly drew the curtains, isolating herself from everything outside.

When she woke up tomorrow morning, the floodwaters would have risen again, submerging the fifth floor.

Tonight was destined to be sleepless for many, and destined to be the eternal sleep for many!

But Tang Li did nothing.

The current torrential rain was merely the beginning of the apocalypse.

In the future, there would be more natural disasters, occurring one after another.

Even if she could remind people once, what about afterwards?

Would she have to remind people every time there was a natural disaster?

Having been reborn, Tang Li was not here to be a savior.

Tang Li was very clear about her own capabilities. She knew she could not be a savior, nor did she want to be!

She was just a young girl, without such lofty ideals.

In the face of natural disasters, it was enough for her to save herself, let alone worry about others!

In this life, Tang Li had only one goal – to survive!

To live like a human being!

Apart from that, she had no other thoughts.

Whether she was called selfish or cold-blooded, she accepted it all.

Tang Li groped her way to the bedside and turned on the desk lamp.

Looking at the silent room, listening to the sound of the wind and rain beating against the window, Tang Li felt a sense of peace in her heart.

She wondered how long this peaceful life would last.

It was strange.

When Tang Li had first been reborn, she still felt some fear of the apocalypse she had already experienced.

But once she truly entered the apocalypse, she no longer felt afraid.

She slept soundly. When Tang Li opened her eyes again, it was already dawn.
