Regarding Tang Li’s question, Song Pinxuan was also unsure.
This was because there had not yet been a single conscious living person with an implanted invasive brain-computer interface for him to conduct such an experiment on.
However, theoretically speaking, invasive brain-computer interfaces could certainly be used with mechanical exoskeletons and combat mechs, and they did not require mental power.
After brain-computer interaction experiments, it was indeed found to be the case.
These 30 women who had invasive brain-computer interfaces implanted could, like Tang Li, receive sensations, see images, and hear sounds transmitted from the brain-computer interaction experimental machine. Furthermore, they felt no fatigue, regardless of how long they used it.
This was good news for Song Pinxuan, as some of the interactive brain-computer devices he had developed would finally have a place to be used.
However, such invasive brain-computer interfaces were still too dangerous.
These women who had invasive brain-computer interfaces implanted discovered that after connecting their respective brain-computer interfaces via cables, they could read each other’s memories.
Although they would forget after disconnecting, only vaguely remembering some things.
But until the protective mechanisms matured, such brain-computer interfaces were destined not to be popularized.
Not only would they not be popularized, but they also had to be kept secret, not to be known by the public. Otherwise, even in this apocalyptic era, it could cause panic.
It might even cause people to be suspicious of non-invasive brain-computer interfaces, which could not alter memories.
Despite this, Song Pinxuan still decided to begin researching devices with brain-computer interaction functions.
“Miss Tang, our research institute has a project on quantum communication technology. It’s a project that was nearly overcome 30 years from now; with just one or two more months, at most three months, it can be concluded.”
“Once the quantum communication technology is successfully developed, it will not only allow for long-distance communication without magnetic storm interference, restoring communication between various regions, but it will also enable the remote control of brain-computer devices that you mentioned earlier.”
“At that time, people like you with brain-computer interaction capabilities could even control brain-computer interface devices thousands of miles away while wearing a brain-computer interface helmet at home!”
Song Pinxuan said this to Tang Li.
Tang Li hadn’t expected that even in the apocalypse, technology from 30 years in the future could develop to such an extent, and she looked forward to it.
However, this meant that the Holy Light organization had to be dealt with quickly.
Otherwise, if Song Pinxuan’s technologies fell into their hands, it would be a disaster.
After all, no matter what, they possessed the technology for invasive brain-computer interfaces.
Tang Li also really wanted to obtain their longevity potion.
It wasn’t that she herself wanted… alright, she did want to extend her lifespan.
But for her, what was more important was that by obtaining these longevity potions, she could replicate them infinitely!
In that case, those who had given up their principles to obtain the longevity potion would not necessarily have to get it from the R-country people, because she could also provide it.
However, how could she obtain the longevity potion and how could she deal with this Holy Light organization?
These people were hidden in the shadows, making it difficult to capture them all at once.
Tang Li had also thought of a method, but it was too risky, and the R-country people might see through it, so she hadn’t used it.
But if, after the great earthquake, she still had no clue about eradicating the Holy Light organization, she would have to use that risky method.
…
The next day, Tang Li left the shelter early and found an abandoned warehouse to replicate the first batch of supplies needed for the “Apocalypse Mall” from her spatial storage.
Soon, Tang Guo, Lin Xi, and the disguised Lu Wan, along with the other 30 women, arrived here, took this batch of goods, and headed to the F City outpost.
Tang Li designated Lu Wan and the other 30 women to be employees of the “Apocalypse Mall” from then on, managed by Tang Guo, and to assist Tang Guo in managing the “Apocalypse Mall.”
She also selected 4 people from these 30 women to take turns operating the combat mechs.
For the next three months, Tang Guo was also stationed at the F City outpost. Only when restocking or delivering discarded items would she, along with a person wearing a combat mech, retrieve the supplies replicated by Tang Li and leave behind discarded items that could be used to expand the space.
Besides replicating supplies and collecting discarded items, Tang Li accompanied the “United Task Force” on missions to eliminate criminal gangs. She had nothing else to do.
During these three months, the “Apocalypse Mall” in F City also gradually developed and expanded…
--- Volume 2 Summary ---
The pacing in this volume wasn't well-managed, with no significant conflicts in the first 70 chapters.
Furthermore, the book’s originally designed 12 stages of natural disasters have only reached the 4th stage, which is indeed quite dragging.
I will learn from these lessons and will never repeat them in my next book.
Starting from the next volume, this book will be concluded. The Holy Light organization will likely be dealt with before the underground city is built, followed by a major plot point, after which the book will end with the capture of an underground city.
The third life that I promised to readers who enjoy submission stories will not be published as a separate book. It will be written as an extra at the end of this book and will not be too long.
If there is an opportunity in the future, I will write a dedicated submission story.
I am currently conceptualizing the next two books. The overall plot has been finalized, and I have started writing the beginnings and setting the outlines.
One is a post-apocalyptic lone wolf story that I previously promised to readers who enjoy female protagonists acting alone.
I’ve recently read some books in this genre, where the ending only states that the female protagonist is better off than in her previous life. However, the author doesn’t specify how her future life will turn out, but I feel it won’t be too good.
After much thought on a solution, I finally came up with the concept of “book transmigration.”
The protagonist isn’t reborn but transmigrates into a novel world of a natural disaster apocalypse. After successfully surviving and fulfilling certain conditions, she returns to her original world.
This way, even if she’s a lone wolf, she doesn’t have to fear a bad ending.
Moreover, by transmigrating into a natural disaster apocalypse novel, in addition to the crisis of the natural disaster apocalypse, other crises can be added to make the plot more exciting. I am currently designing this.
The other book is about bidirectional transmigration between two worlds, one apocalyptic and one modern.
However, unlike the male-oriented books that already exist in this genre, which involve trading supplies between modern and apocalyptic worlds, this one features a protagonist from the modern world. My designed protagonist comes from the apocalyptic world, and I am also designing the plot to be as exciting as possible.
Thank you to all my readers for your continued support!
Your support has brought me one step closer to realizing my dream of a writing career.
No matter how many books I write in the future, I will never forget this book, nor will I forget you who supported this book and enjoyed reading it!
