Mi Jia Xiao Wu

Chapter 2 Joy Turns to Sorrow

Guo Xuyang reached out to stop her and asked, "Hey beautiful, where are you going?"

"Going on a date? Want to come?" Xiao Yun teased.

"Tch, why would I go? To be a third wheel?" Guo Xuyang said dejectedly.

"What's wrong, can't bear to part with me?" Xiao Yun suddenly became interested and joked.

"Forget it. I'd love to, but would you actually come with me?" Guo Xuyang replied uninterestedly.

"Let's go, I'll treat you to a meal. Thanks for saving the day."

"Could you be a little more sincere? If I hadn't stopped you, you wouldn't have even thought of me, would you?"

"Are you coming or not? If you are, hurry up, look at the time. I'm telling you, my friends are all tall and leggy. You miss this village, and there won't be another shop like it."

"I'm going, why wouldn't I? Good food, good drinks, and beautiful scenery to feast my eyes on, why wouldn't I go?" Guo Xuyang made up his mind. He had nothing else to do back at his place anyway, just scrolling on his phone. It wouldn't be bad to see her nightlife with the goddess.

"Are you taking anything else? If not, let's go," Xiao Yun said as she started walking out.

"I need to change my clothes. I can't meet beautiful women in these work clothes, can I? It would lower your status."

"Then I'll wait for you in the parking lot. Hurry up. Call me when you get there."

Guo Xuyang ran to the locker room, changed out of his work clothes, and put on his own. He had bought this outfit three months ago when looking for a job. Although it was late autumn, it was still presentable.

Sigh, time to buy new clothes again. Guo Xuyang flicked his collar and smoothed his hair.

A rather handsome young man, he complimented himself as he looked in the mirror.

When he arrived at the parking lot, he saw a car's headlights flash. It was a red Mini, with a sleek body and a vibrant color, truly fitting for a tall, leggy beauty.

Didn't expect her to be a little rich girl, Guo Xuyang mused inwardly. Indeed, the commission from selling two large villas in a month could buy two small cars.

Alas, comparing oneself to others leads to death, and comparing goods makes one want to throw them away. Who told him his parents didn't give him a face that could rely on nature?

"What are you doing? Come up quickly," Xiao Yun urged. "There's a lot of traffic at this time, we need to hurry, or we don't know when we'll get stuck in traffic."

As soon as Guo Xuyang got into the car, before he could even fasten his seatbelt, Xiao Yun accelerated.

"Sis, slow down a bit. I'm a scaredy-cat, and I'm the only child at home." Guo Xuyang grabbed the handle on the door in fear.

"Shut your crow's mouth. When I was driving, you were still peeing and making mud," Xiao Yun rebuked.

However, before she could finish, she couldn't help but blush. Well, that slipped out. Her carefully cultivated image of a lady instantly collapsed.

In reality, Xiao Yun wasn't much older than Guo Xuyang. She had only been at the sales office for half a year, but due to her excellent personal conditions and the fact that she served major clients, her performance had been rapid.

There was no conversation on the way. Xiao Yun drove like the wind. Why the rush? It was her best friend's birthday today. If it weren't for that lecherous manager delaying her, she would have left long ago. If she hadn't asked for leave from the manager, she wouldn't have let this mischievous boy Guo Xuyang witness an indecent scene.

It's hard to believe that selling houses doesn't involve any tricks, but she really didn't have any of that. These bosses were all introduced by her best friend. Her best friend's father was a very successful businessman in the provincial capital, with a wide business network. As her best friend, and an official in the provincial housing management department, she had a little power and thus channeled all the deals to her.

In return for favors, she wouldn't be rushing to her best friend's birthday. Without her best friend's help, let alone her current performance, even having meals would be a problem.

Thinking of this, Xiao Yun couldn't help but press harder on the accelerator, pushing the speed to one hundred and twenty. It would take another half an hour to reach the provincial capital, and she should be able to make it.

At this moment, a Volvo next to them overtook her, honking its horn several times.

If you want to overtake, be my guest, fly over my head if you can, Xiao Yun thought mischievously.

It wasn't that she didn't want to let them, but there was a large truck ahead and to the right that was also driving very fast, and she didn't dare let them. If the large truck braked suddenly, her car would be crushed underneath, leading to destruction and death.

Thus, a strange scene unfolded on the highway, with three cars fiercely chasing each other.

It was fast and slow at the same time. Finally, for some reason, the large truck slowed down.

Xiao Yun was also about to exit the highway, so she signaled her intention to exit. Before she reached the highway exit, the Volvo behind her rammed into her. She instinctively swerved sharply, avoiding a head-on collision with the Volvo, but her rear bumper was hit, causing her car to lurch forward and head straight for the highway exit.

Seeing that she was about to hit the guardrail, she slammed on the brakes and then turned the steering wheel. The immense force still caused the car to flip several times before coming to a stop.

Xiao Yun was held tightly by her seatbelt, her face pale. Guo Xuyang's head hit the car window hard, and he immediately passed out.

Xiao Yun tremblingly climbed out of the car door and desperately pulled Guo Xuyang out. "Yangzi, Yangzi, don't scare me. Yangzi, Yangzi..."

She cried and tried to pull Guo Xuyang out, but the seatbelt was stuck tight, and no matter how much she pulled, it wouldn't budge.

At this moment, the toll station staff rushed over to help, unbuckled the seatbelt, and pulled Guo Xuyang out.

Guo Xuyang's head was bleeding profusely, the blood soaking through his clothes.

Xiao Yun, with trembling hands, called her best friend, saying she had been hit by someone at the highway exit, but she was fine. Her colleague who came with her was unconscious. She wouldn't be able to make it tonight.

The police, ambulance, and traffic police arrived in a short while. Guo Xuyang was helped onto the ambulance by several people.

Her best friend arrived shortly after.

"What happened? Xiao Yun," her best friend asked.

"This car hit me," Xiao Yun pointed at the Volvo. She explained the situation of the traffic jam on the road.

At this moment, a young man got out of the Volvo and walked up to her best friend, calling out "Sister."

Her best friend slapped the young man. "Chen Qiang, if you want to die, don't drag others down with you. Are you still a child?"

Xiao Yun was stunned.

She hadn't expected such a coincidence. This young man was her best friend Chen Hailing's younger brother, Chen Qiang. She only knew that her best friend had a younger brother who worked in engineering in the same city, but she had never met him. She didn't expect to meet him under such circumstances.

This matter could be serious, treated as attempted murder; or it could be minor, just a traffic accident.

At this point, the traffic police came to inquire about the situation. Xiao Yun did not mention the traffic jam on the road, only saying that she was hit by the vehicle behind her while preparing to exit the highway, causing the car to lose control and overturn.

Her best friend gave her a grateful look. She was trying to minimize the damage.

Chen Qiang also said that he didn't control his speed while exiting the highway and accidentally hit the other car.

The traffic police and the insurance company surveyed the scene, focusing their photography on the rear of the car for evidence. After an hour of work, they had both parties sign and then towed both cars away.
