Mi Jia Xiao Wu

Chapter 21 The Shadow of First Love

His first love was thus taken away, and it naturally caused him deep hurt. From then on, he no longer dared to engage in deep conversations with pretty girls, fearing they would get hurt.

He went through high school, college, and entered society to find a job, until he met Xiao Yun. He buried his admiration deep in his heart, never uttering a single word of liking for her.

Sometimes he would be flirtatious, even fantasizing about her in private, but he never dared to confess his feelings to Xiao Yun. Even after moving to the provincial city, when Xiao Yun teased him openly several times, he would run away as fast as his legs could carry him.

The hurt from his first love had seeped into his bones.

He wondered how the girl from junior high school was doing. He really wanted to say "I'm sorry" to her in person.

He had never seen that girl again after they parted ways from junior high school. People said a girl changes drastically by eighteen. He wondered if he would recognize her if they met again.

Guo Xuyang drove to the company, and it was already past five o'clock. There were only a few people left in the office. He hurried to find the manager to report his return.

He didn't know how Xiao Yun had requested leave from the manager. Anyway, when the manager saw Guo Xuyang, their expression turned unpleasant, looking at Guo Xuyang unfavorably from every angle.

Fortunately, it was almost time to get off work. Otherwise, Guo Xuyang would have had to endure more torment in front of the manager.

After reporting his return, he felt bored and picked up his phone to call Lin Zixuan.

"Hello! Ms. Lin. This is Guo Xuyang. I've just returned to the company. Should I deliver the keys to you now, or will you pick them up tomorrow?"

"Oh, you're back. I haven't gotten off work yet. I'll pick them up tomorrow then."

"Alright, see you tomorrow."

Guo Xuyang wanted to go back to his dorm to tidy up. In reality, there wasn't much to tidy in the dorm. It was just a place to rest, with a suitcase, some old clothes, leftover fast-food containers, and a few unfinished boxes of instant noodles.

Never mind, he could resign tomorrow after finishing his business. Tidying up would be the same if he did it later.

He decided to go out for a walk. He had been in this city for three months and hadn't really seen much of it. He didn't know when he would return after being busy tomorrow.

This was just a transit point in his life.

Now that he had an industry in the provincial city, he would dedicate himself to it and develop there.

There was truly nothing here to make him linger. He had no friends, and his relationships with colleagues weren't very harmonious. He was just a passerby in this city.

He couldn't help but feel a sense of melancholy. Humans were not much different from duckweed, just drifting with the current, never knowing where they would eventually settle. If he hadn't gained his extraordinary abilities, he might have married and had children in this city and never left.

He walked aimlessly, without driving. He just happened to walk up to a bar.

"Dali Bar?" he muttered. There should be very few people in the bar at this time, right?

He had never been to a bar before. He only knew that the consumption was very high, beyond his means.

There's a first time for everything. Let's take a look. He wasn't short of money anyway.

He strolled in. There weren't many people inside. The resident singer was chatting with someone, and there were a few girls who were likely promoting drinks. He ordered a beer at the bar and sat quietly, enjoying the soft music. It was quite pleasant.

No one bothered him. Perhaps it was still too early. People were sitting in small groups, chatting.

The bar wasn't too large, about two hundred square meters. He didn't know if there was anything more inside. To his right, a band's instruments were laid out, quietly waiting for their owners to arrive.

A tall girl sat aside, flipping through her phone. She was around his age and extremely beautiful. Her skin was fair, her eyes were large, and her sexy lips were painted with fiery lipstick, the same shade as Xiao Yun's. She was wearing hip-hop attire and a baseball cap, her fingernails were purple, and she was chewing bubble gum, blowing large bubbles from time to time. He felt a sense of familiarity, as if he had seen her somewhere before.

Perhaps sensing something, the girl felt someone looking at her. She glanced around and saw Guo Xuyang drinking at the bar. Her gaze passed over him, and she went back to her phone.

Before he finished his beer, people started arriving at the bar one after another. The band members also began to tune their instruments. A man with disheveled long hair started playing the drums, the rhythm powerful, and slowly the atmosphere in the bar heated up. The beautiful girl spontaneously performed a rap, drawing whistles and screams. A plump middle-aged man even handed the girl a glass of beer. The girl accepted it casually but did not drink it.

The girl performed three or four songs consecutively and was preparing to go off stage.

At this moment, a man with dyed yellow hair stepped forward and grabbed the girl's hand, about to lift her. The girl screamed in fear.

The man carried the girl off stage. Whistles erupted everywhere, and no one paid attention to the girl's struggles. Perhaps they were used to it.

The girl slapped the yellow-haired man hard. The man was stunned, then retaliated with a fierce slap, knocking the girl to the ground.

Then another girl ran over, helped the girl up, and asked, "Xiao Lin, Xiao Lin, are you okay?"

"You little bitch, you dare to hit me? You must be tired of living," the yellow-haired man said fiercely. "I gave you some face, didn't I? What's wrong with me hugging you?"

Saying that, he kicked her again. Fortunately, the girl dodged quickly and wasn't hit.

"I'll show you for dodging." The yellow-haired man slapped the girl across the face. Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.

The other girl protected the Lin-named girl tightly, urging her to run.

"You think you can still run?" The yellow-haired man grabbed the other girl by the collar and pushed her to the ground. "You keep blocking me, and I'll kill you."

The two girls were so frightened that they didn't dare to move.

"Brother Jun, calm down, please calm down. It's not worth getting sick over a little girl," the bartender quickly came out, grabbed the yellow-haired man, and shouted at the two girls, "Aren't you going to apologize to Brother Jun quickly?"

"Brother Jun, I'm sorry. It's our fault." The girl who was pushed to the ground quickly stood up and apologized. She tugged at the Lin-named girl's clothes. The Lin-named girl glared at Brother Jun but remained silent.

"I gave you too much face, didn't I?" Brother Jun became even angrier seeing the Lin-named girl's silence. He grabbed her hair and violently threw her to the ground.

The Lin-named girl got up and glared fiercely at Brother Jun, remaining silent.

Guo Xuyang couldn't stand watching anymore. He walked over and pulled the Lin-named girl behind him.

"Who didn't buckle their pants properly, letting you slip out?" Brother Jun said sarcastically as Guo Xuyang pulled the Lin-named girl away.

"Watch your mouth. Death is just a scar on the skull, is it worth insulting someone like this?" Guo Xuyang pointed at the girl. "We're all born of parents; no one is more precious than another. Why should you let him insult you?"

"I'm happy. Got a problem?" Brother Jun was very arrogant.
