Chapter 137 The White Young Man

Guo Xuyang was, of course, unaware of these matters.

He was releasing his senses, focusing his gaze, and observing the gold deposit he had discovered.

"Collect," he murmured.

He gathered all the gold from the deposit.

The massive depletion caused the ground to sink, forming a large crater.

This startled those who were excavating the gold deposit, making them think an earthquake had occurred.

Li Xinglong and his group were among them.

His wife, Huang Lifang, and his sister, Li Liping, were supervised while cooking for these miners. The rest of the men had all gone down the mine to dig for gold.

The immense disturbance caused everyone to halt their work and look outside, unsure of what had happened.

"Get back to work quickly," a supervisor-like figure shouted loudly.

They had been working for several days here without finding a single grain of gold, which was making him anxious.

He was counting on this job to make a living.

If he failed to complete the task assigned by the boss, not only would he not get paid, but he might not even have food.

While these people were stirred up, Guo Xuyang and his companions had already left.

Lv Liang and Iliana did not feel the tremor, as they were still tens of kilometers away.

It was late at night when they finally arrived in Johannesburg.

They had to find a place to stay first and then proceed to the diamond mine next to the wildlife park the following day.

"To celebrate the successful diamond exploration, we're drinking until we drop tonight," Lv Liang said.

"How about we go to a bar? I know a very good one around here," Iliana suggested.

Guo Xuyang remained noncommittal; anywhere was fine. Since they were out now, checking out a local bar wouldn't be bad.

The trio arrived at a place called the Jazz Restaurant and Bar. It was luxuriously decorated and spacious.

"What can I get for you gentlemen?" a waiter approached them.

Lv Liang took the menu, glanced at it, and handed it to Iliana. "Bring us two bottles of red wine to start, a fruit salad, and some grilled meat. Let this lady order the rest."

"We'll have a beef dish, a fish dish, and a pasta dish for the three of us, thank you!" Iliana said.

This restaurant and bar served meals per person, somewhat like a set menu.

When the food arrived, Guo Xuyang discovered that all the dishes were very exquisite, with only the pasta being a more generous portion.

The grilled meat that Lv Liang ordered was cooked on-site, carved, and then served onto each person's plate.

The food was delicious, and the wine was excellent. There was also a live singer performing at the front. The three of them ate and chatted, creating a very pleasant atmosphere.

"Hi, Iliana, long time no see," a young white man came over to greet them.

"Hi, William, I'm having dinner with some friends," Iliana replied, standing up. "Aren't you heading back yet?"

"Not yet. But I will soon. Won't you introduce me to your friends?"

"This is Lv Liang, my partner. And this is Guo Xuyang, Lv Liang's brother," Iliana introduced them. "And this is William, my friend."

"Hello." Lv Liang extended his hand for a handshake.

Guo Xuyang nodded in acknowledgment.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. May I join you for dinner?" William said in a rather familiar manner.

"You're most welcome," Lv Liang replied.

Guo Xuyang glanced at Iliana. He couldn't quite figure out Iliana's relationship with William, but he wasn't particularly fond of William.

Iliana might have sensed Guo Xuyang's gaze. She said, "William, we're almost finished eating. How about next time?"

William was visibly taken aback. He looked at Guo Xuyang, his eyes carrying a hint of scrutiny.

"Alright. My apologies for the interruption. Goodbye!"

He then turned and left.

"What's going on?" Lv Liang asked, a little slow on the uptake.

"It's nothing, let's eat. We should head back after this," Iliana said.

Lv Liang looked at Iliana, then at Guo Xuyang, and said nothing further.

"I'm done," Guo Xuyang said, putting down his cutlery. "I'm going to step outside for a bit and wait for you there."

As Guo Xuyang spoke, he walked out. He had a feeling that this William was not simple.

He couldn't quite articulate the feeling he had.

He left the bar but didn't see William anywhere.

So, he released his senses completely, then focused his gaze into the distance.

Inside a black car, William was on the phone.

"Iliana is having dinner with Lv Liang and them. Yes, that Guo Xuyang seems quite vigilant. Yes, understood."

"Hello, why did you leave without eating?" Guo Xuyang knocked on the glass.

Guo Xuyang's words startled William. He had no idea how Guo Xuyang had found him.

"Oh, I had something urgent to attend to, so I can't eat," William said, about to start the car.

Guo Xuyang reached out and pulled out the key.

"Want to chat for a bit?"

"We're not familiar with each other, so there's nothing to chat about. Please give me back my key."

"What's your relationship with Iliana?"

"Friends. Wasn't that introduced earlier?"

"Have we met before?"

"No."

"Are you sure we haven't met?"

"No. This is the first time I've met you all."

"Is that so? I don't really like hearing lies."

"I'm sorry, I don't know why you're saying that?"

"There's a reason why I'm saying this. Do you know Hera?"

"Who is Hera? I don't know her."

William's eyes flickered noticeably. He didn't know if Guo Xuyang had truly found something out or was bluffing.

"When did you meet Iliana?"

"We've known each other for several years. Is there a problem?"

"When did you meet Lv Liang?"

"It's been a few years, right? Why are you asking?"

"Does Lv Liang know you?"

"Probably not. What do you mean?"

"Lv Liang doesn't know you?"

"Why would Lv Liang know me?"

"Then how did you meet Lv Liang?"

"I never said I knew Lv Liang."

"Heh. I think you're being a bit dishonest."

By now, William was utterly confused by Guo Xuyang. He didn't know where he had made a mistake that Guo Xuyang had caught him out on.

"Let me ask you again, how did you meet Iliana?"

"She's my friend."

"I know she's your friend. I'm asking how you met Iliana?"

"I'm friends with her husband."

"Oh, really?"

"Are you sure you're friends with her husband."

"Yes."

"Then why does she say she doesn't have a boyfriend?"

"That's impossible. I even attended her wedding! She must be lying to you."

"How did you meet her husband?"

"We grew up together since we were kids."

"You are her husband. Aren't you?"

"How is that possible? What are you talking about?"

"Then how did you know she was eating here?"

"I didn't know. Isn't this a coincidence?"

"Do you think I'd believe that?"

"There's nothing I can do if you don't believe me."
