Chapter 255 The Performance

Li Wei hadn't expected that not long after the call ended, Weng Zhongming would call her, and the first thing he said was about divorce.

Li Wei almost thought she had misheard, asking several times before she was sure.

She was both angry and shocked, "On what grounds? You found a mistress and want to legitimize her? I'm telling you, no way."

Weng Zhongming was already too angry to say more, stating with certainty, "This divorce is set. Nothing you say will change it."

Li Wei completely lost it, smashing her phone to the ground and shouting, "Did I not check the almanac before leaving the house today? These people, one after another, are all coming to provoke me."

Quan Jiu, standing not far away, approached Li Wei with elegant steps, picked up the phone from the ground, and asked with a smile, "Are you alright?"

Li Wei looked up, and her brows immediately furrowed.

She snatched the phone from Quan Jiu's hand and said with disgust, "Get lost, don't stand in front of me and offend my eyes."

Quan Jiu smiled lightly and shook her head with a hint of regret, "At your age, after a divorce, what will you have left? You can't go back to the Li family, the Weng family doesn't want you, and your relationship with your mother isn't good either... But since you're willing to spend over six hundred million to buy a plastic necklace, I suppose my worries are unnecessary, right?"

Li Wei's face darkened, and she questioned, "Was this your doing?"

Quan Jiu looked at her blankly, "What could I possibly do? I just wanted to thank you. Thanks to you, I learned how expensive this necklace is. I thought it was a necklace worth a few hundred yuan, but I didn't expect it to be six hundred million."

She gently touched the necklace around her neck, her eyes openly provocative.

Li Wei's face turned red with anger. Just seeing the necklace made her heart ache with vexation.

"Scram," she roared in exasperation.

Quan Jiu giggled, "Don't be so upset. Money is just an external possession. Spending six hundred million to recognize someone's true nature isn't a loss, is it?"

After saying that, she swayed away, leaving Li Wei raging and frustrated behind her.

"Feeling better?" Chu Rong asked gently, walking a step behind Quan Jiu.

Quan Jiu's expression relaxed, her face now placid, and her tone carried a hint of coolness, "Let's talk about it later."

"What do you want to eat for lunch?"

Quan Jiu didn't answer. Her gaze scanned the venue like radar, and soon she found her target in the lounge area—Weng Yin.

She turned back, looking at Chu Rong with a half-smile, "Since you're so eager to fulfill your husbandly duties, I'll indulge you now. Carry me to the lounge area. I'm tired."

Chu Rong's eyebrows twitched slightly, and the corners of his lips curved upwards. He turned and crouched down slightly.

Quan Jiu kept telling herself, this is just using him, just using him, before lightly settling onto Chu Rong's back.

However, no matter how much she tried to convince herself, she still felt awkward, her body stiff. She propped her elbows on Chu Rong's back, keeping them from touching closely.

Chu Rong's eyes held a hint of playful amusement, "You don't look like you're in the throes of passion like this."

Quan Jiu's expression froze. After a pause, she decided to go all out, relaxing her body and slumping lazily onto Chu Rong's back.

Chu Rong shrugged his shoulders and carried Quan Jiu to the lounge area, stopping directly opposite Weng Yin.

Weng Yin, having nothing else to do, was browsing the fashion week news. Suddenly, she saw a video from the fan signing event. The title was quite sensational. Curious, she clicked on it and was shocked to see Yun Shu's dress falling off in front of everyone.

Weng Yin's scalp tingled. The level of embarrassment was frightening even through the screen, let alone for the person involved.

She let out a gloating snort and casually liked the video.

"Arong, I'm so thirsty," Quan Jiu mumbled, pouting aggrievedly.

Weng Yin looked up, and her face instantly fell.

It was that bitch, and what's more, this bitch was being carried by Chu Rong.

A burning fire of jealousy consumed Weng Yin, making her wish she could rush up and tear that bitch's face apart.

But what made her feel even worse, like a thousand ants gnawing at her heart, was seeing the man she desperately wanted to marry doting on the woman she hated the most.

Chu Rong's eyes were filled with tenderness as he stroked Quan Jiu's soft hair and asked gently, "What do you want to drink?"

Quan Jiu narrowed her eyes slightly, a silent warning, but her words were playful, "I want yogurt."

Chu Rong seemed to ignore Quan Jiu's warning, his hand not moving away. He became even more tender, "Okay, I'll go buy it for you. What else do you want to eat?"

Quan Jiu suppressed her feelings for a moment, then changed her mind, "I want yogurt with fruit."

"Alright."

Chu Rong bent down and gently lifted Quan Jiu's leg.

Quan Jiu's body visibly stiffened, her eyes signaling: Don't push it too far.

Chu Rong acted as if he didn't see it, removed her high-heeled shoe, massaged her instep, and asked, "Does it hurt?"

His movements were very gentle, and the warmth of his palm was soothing. Quan Jiu's slightly sore feet suddenly felt no longer sore.

Her face flushed slightly, and she subtly pulled her feet away, then said playfully, "Hurry up and go. I want mango, peach, and strawberry flavored oatmeal yogurt with fruit."

Chu Rong's smile deepened, and only then did he stand up and leave.

After he left, Quan Jiu's charming expression dropped. She looked down her nose at Weng Yin, her finger lightly brushing over the sparkling necklace on her neck, "Envious?"

Weng Yin gritted her teeth, "Bitch, envious? I find you disgusting."

Quan Jiu's smile widened, "He bought this necklace specifically for me. Besides this one, I have four others. We're living together now, and he cooks three meals for me every day, changing the dishes.

Honestly, it took a lot of effort to win over such a good man. He doesn't mind that I have two children. Heh, oh well, who can help it if he likes me?"

Weng Yin's face contorted with anger, "Bitch, keep pretending. When Chu Rong arrives, I'll expose your true colors."

Quan Jiu giggled, her body shaking with laughter, "Go ahead and say it. See if he believes you or me. Actually, you really want such a good man too, don't you? But what can you do? His eyes are only for me, his heart only holds me. He dotes on me so much, he's afraid I'll get tired even walking, staying with me twenty-four hours a day. This clingy CEO is becoming a bit of a bother for me now."

"Shut up, you bitch. I'll rip your foul mouth apart." Weng Yin couldn't stand it and wanted to destroy the disgusting face in front of her immediately.

But before she could approach, a tall figure blocked her path.

Chu Rong looked at her coldly, his voice sharp as a knife, "Get lost."

Weng Yin was startled. Suppressing her unwillingness, she said furiously, "She's just a bitch. She's deliberately trying to trap you. She was just boasting that you serve her all the time."

"She's telling the truth," Chu Rong opened the fruit cup and scooped a spoonful to feed Quan Jiu, "I couldn't ask for more."

"You... you're crazy. What's so good about this woman?" Weng Yin's eyes welled up with tears of hatred.

Chu Rong gently wiped the yogurt from the corner of Quan Jiu's mouth, smiling tenderly, "She's good in every way."

Then his gaze shifted, the tenderness disappearing, replaced by a chilling coldness, "Get lost. Don't make me say it a third time."
