As Dao Ge and over a dozen of his men arrived in a flurry just as Zheng You Long departed.
“Brother!”
Dao Ge greeted Lin Feng respectfully.
“Lock this guy up and use any means necessary to interrogate him. Also, find out everything about him!”
Lin Feng stared coldly at Zhang Wenguang, who lay unconscious in a pool of blood, and gave his orders.
Upon hearing Lin Feng, Dao Ge followed his gaze. When he recognized Zhang Wenguang, his eyeballs nearly popped out of their sockets.
“B-Brother, no need to investigate. He’s Zhang Wenguang, the Land’s Little Tyrant!”
Dao Ge stammered in shock.
“Zhang Wenguang? Who is he?”
“Brother, he’s a trusted confidant of Master Lei Hu, one of Master Hu’s top enforcers. How could you have done this to him?”
Dao Ge wiped the fine sweat from his forehead, thinking Lin Feng was too ruthless to have cut out Zhang Wenguang’s kidney. Wasn't this essentially declaring war on Lei Hu?
“So what if he’s Lei Hu’s man? Anyone who dares to touch my goddess, I don’t care who they are!”
Although surprised, Lin Feng’s attitude remained unchanged. He then reconsidered, “Since he’s Lei Hu’s man, don’t lock him up. Stuff him into a sack and send him to Lei Hu!”
“Ah!? I, I understand!”
Dao Ge was terrified but dared not disobey Lin Feng. He could only instruct some of his men to comply.
“Brother, what about these two kidneys? Should we preserve them?”
Dao Ge looked at the fresh kidneys on the ground. If preserved now, they could still be salvaged.
“Throw them away and feed them to the dogs!”
Lin Feng said unequivocally, taking Feng Jingwen’s small hand and turning to leave.
“Get in the car, I’ll drive you home!”
Lin Feng opened the passenger door of the sports car. After Feng Jingwen got in, he drove towards her small apartment.
On the way back, Feng Jingwen gradually emerged from her previous shock. Still shaken, she said, “Lin Feng, are you sure it’ll be okay to send Zhang Wenguang to Lei Hu?”
“He’s Lei Hu’s man, and I don’t want you to offend Lei Hu!”
Feng Jingwen gazed at Lin Feng with concern. In Qingcheng, the name Lei Hu was infamous, known to virtually everyone!
“Jingwen, never mind Lei Hu. Even if a Mafia boss from abroad dared to touch you, I wouldn’t let him off!”
“Don’t worry, I’ll handle everything!”
Lin Feng’s attitude was resolute. Scum like Zhang Wenguang deserved to pay a heavy price!
If Lei Hu dared to complain, Lin Feng would deal with him too!
Looking at the dominant and assertive Lin Feng, a mist of tears welled up in Feng Jingwen’s beautiful eyes.
She hadn’t expected Lin Feng to risk offending Lei Hu for her sake!
What was it about her that made Lin Feng willing to sacrifice so much?
Feng Jingwen’s heart trembled, enveloped by a warm current.
Girls her age had heard enough cliché love confessions.
Lin Feng was different; he silently guarded and protected her with his actions!
Most importantly, despite doing so much, Lin Feng had never confessed his feelings to her, nor had he made any moves expected between a couple.
What was Lin Feng’s motive?
Was he treating her this way because he liked her?
Feng Jingwen felt a sense of bewilderment, a feeling that left her feeling passive!
As a girl, she couldn’t possibly ask Lin Feng directly if he liked her.
“Lin Feng, you called me your goddess earlier. Were you serious?”
Feng Jingwen suddenly recalled Lin Feng’s earlier words, her big, watery eyes filled with tenderness and anticipation.
“Of course. You’re not just my goddess, you’re the goddess of all the guys in our high school!”
Lin Feng replied with a smile.
This was no exaggeration. Back in high school, Feng Jingwen was a renowned beauty. Lin Feng couldn’t even count how many people liked her.
Feng Jingwen felt a surge of frustration at Lin Feng’s answer.
Was he doing this intentionally, or was he truly clueless?
Her signals had been so obvious; couldn’t Lin Feng have been a little more proactive?
Did she really have to spell it out for him?
Feng Jingwen fell silent, quietly watching Lin Feng drive, feeling an unspeakable vexation in her heart.
In fact, Lin Feng understood the hidden meaning behind Feng Jingwen’s words and knew what she wanted to ask.
However, after the incident with Qin Wenwen, Lin Feng truly dared not easily confess his feelings to a girl, fearing he would be hurt again.
Therefore, he wanted to wait until they truly understood each other before taking that step.
Feng Jingwen had no idea Lin Feng was thinking so much. She felt very uncomfortable with this passive feeling.
All the way, Feng Jingwen tried her best, her small hands occasionally brushing against Lin Feng’s thigh, hoping he would sense her affection.
Lin Feng, however, seemed oblivious to these subtle gestures and remained silent, his attention focused on driving.
Only after arriving at Feng Jingwen’s apartment and getting out of the car did Lin Feng call out to her, looking at her very seriously. “Jingwen, don’t go in just yet. I have something to tell you!”
“Okay, go ahead, I’m listening!”
Feng Jingwen’s eyes lit up, her heart filled with excitement and nervousness.
Had Lin Feng finally made up his mind and was about to confess?
Feng Jingwen took a deep breath, her proud chest rising slightly, her gaze towards Lin Feng full of affection.
To her surprise, Lin Feng said very seriously, “Jingwen, tell me in detail what happened with Zhang Wenguang. I need to understand exactly what occurred.”
“Ah!? You wanted to talk about this?”
Feng Jingwen was taken aback, her eyes instantly dimming slightly.
“Of course. This is very important. It concerns whether you offended someone or were set up!”
Lin Feng felt there were many suspicious points in this matter.
Based on his understanding of Feng Jingwen, she didn't like disreputable places like bars.
Moreover, going to a bar in broad daylight!
Lin Feng’s question also reminded Feng Jingwen. She said with a solemn expression, “Lin Feng, I actually felt something was very wrong too. I received a mysterious call earlier. The caller said they wanted to deposit a large sum of money into our bank and asked me to meet them at a bar.”
“That’s when I ran into Zhang Wenguang and his group!”
“As for that client, I never saw them from start to finish!”
Feng Jingwen recounted patiently, realizing the significant issues in the entire incident.
“I understand. Give me the caller’s number, and I’ll investigate it thoroughly.”
Lin Feng was now almost certain that Feng Jingwen had fallen into someone’s trap.
“Okay, I’ll retrieve the phone number when I get back and send it to you. But you should be careful too. If necessary, we can just call the police!”
Feng Jingwen was still worried about Lin Feng, her small hand nervously gripping his large one, reluctant to let him leave.
Lin Feng patted the back of Feng Jingwen’s hand. “Don’t worry, I’m not someone who acts rashly. If things get out of hand, I’ll call the police!”
Feng Jingwen nodded. Having Lin Feng’s assurance, she felt relieved.
Meanwhile, in Zhao Tianyuan’s private villa, Zheng You Long stood respectfully before Zhao Tianyuan and recounted the events at the bar in full detail.
Upon learning that Lin Feng had cut out Zhang Wenguang’s kidney, Zhao Tianyuan remained remarkably calm. He snorted, “So he can fight? He’s just a brute. Such an action will only earn him a severe retaliation from Lei Hu!”
“Go ahead and leak this news to Lei Hu!”
“I want to see how the young man that Xiao Wan fancies will get out of this predicament!”
Zhao Tianyuan reclined in his leather executive chair, projecting an air of calculated strategy.
