Seven Star Divine Fish

Chapter 725 Returning Home to Encounter a Funeral

The sudden knocking at the door made Lin Feng and Liu Yuan, who were in the midst of a fierce encounter, stop.

"Who is it?" Liu Yuan asked cautiously.

"Mom, it's me," Hua Yu replied, controlling her emotions and maintaining a calm demeanor.

Upon hearing this, Liu Yuan's expression changed drastically.

"Little brother Lin Feng, you should go. My daughter is here to find me, and she can't see you." Liu Yuan said as she quickly dressed herself.

For some reason, Lin Feng suddenly felt that the voice outside the door sounded familiar. Seeing Liu Yuan's panic, he also put on his clothes and prepared to leave through the window.

"What are you doing? It's too dangerous, hurry and come in." Liu Yuan exclaimed in shock as Lin Feng was about to leave through the window. This was the twenty-something floor; if he fell, wouldn't he be smashed to death?

"Sister Yuan, it's okay. I'm a master; this height means nothing to me." Lin Feng smiled and then flew into the air.

Liu Yuan stared blankly at Lin Feng soaring through the sky outside the window. She never knew Lin Feng possessed such divine abilities. Seeing the knocking becoming more urgent, Liu Yuan put aside her thoughts and adjusted her emotions before opening the door.

When the door opened, Hua Yu's eyes immediately scanned the room with alertness.

"Xiao Yu, why are you here so late? How did you know I was here, and why are you looking for me?" Liu Yuan asked, looking at her daughter's unusual behavior and subtly realizing that Hua Yu might have found something out.

"Mom, I just happened to see you come to this hotel. I was afraid you'd be lonely, so I came to keep you company," Hua Yu said with a smile, continuing to search the room. She couldn't have misheard; the sounds in the room earlier were definitely not right, suggesting a man's presence.

"Xiao Yu, what are you looking for? It's just Mom alone." Liu Yuan looked at her daughter's actions, which were like catching someone cheating, and her intelligence told her that Hua Yu knew something. She wasn't nervous because, even if Hua Yu caught her, she wouldn't be afraid. Hua Yu was an adult and already married. Eventually, Hua Yu would understand her.

"Mom, you don't need to worry about me. I'm just looking around." Hua Yu said, checking every room, not even sparing the closets or curtains. However, after searching everywhere, Hua Yu couldn't find any trace of a man.

In her helplessness, Hua Yu had to give up her search. However, she still didn't believe her mother would come out to stay in a hotel alone for no reason. And the indulgent sounds earlier couldn't possibly have come from her mother making them herself, could they? There had to be something going on!

Hua Yu was also very clever. Although she didn't have concrete evidence, she still said subtly, "Mom, even if you don't like staying home anymore, don't book a room by yourself. If outsiders see it, they'll easily misunderstand. Especially since you've been married to Dad for so many years, leaving Dad alone at home isn't good either."

How could Liu Yuan not understand Hua Yu's veiled words? Stroking Hua Yu's hair, she said, "Silly girl, Mom knows. Mom will be more careful from now on."

"Then come home with me now. I'm going back to Qingcheng in a couple of days, so let's sleep together tonight." Hua Yu smiled slightly and pulled Liu Yuan away with a reason.

"Alright. Before you leave, Mom needs to meet your husband. You married so far away, and Mom isn't entirely at ease." Liu Yuan said with concern.

"Okay, I'll have him join us for a meal in the next couple of days." Hua Yu agreed, nodding. In fact, she hadn't seen Lin Feng for several days. She wondered where Lin Feng was off enjoying himself.

Meanwhile, Lin Feng left the hotel and returned to Sun Qian's residence. Sun Qian was still fast asleep and didn't even realize Lin Feng had left for a while.

The next morning, when Sun Qian woke up, she hugged Lin Feng beside her, feeling incredibly happy as she looked at the man before her. Before, when she opened her eyes, the empty room contained only herself. Now that there was another person, she felt her days had become more colorful and fulfilling.

"Sister Qian, do you want to get some exercise after waking up?" Lin Feng hadn't had his fill last night. Feeling the soft, smooth body in his arms, his thoughts drifted.

Sun Qian shook her head repeatedly. "You brat, you're too fierce. This old body of mine can't handle you tormenting it like this. Let me rest a bit."

"It's time to get up. I promised to take you to my family's place today." Sun Qian pulled Lin Feng out of bed.

Thinking of the important matter at hand, Lin Feng immediately perked up. Compared to playing cards, finding the lid of the Netherworld Demonic Cauldron was more important. Thus, after washing up, Lin Feng got into Sun Qian's car and headed to the Sun family's residence.

The Sun family was considered a third-tier family in the capital. Although not as vast as the four great families, a third-tier family was already beyond the imagination of ordinary people. Their residence alone occupied a prime location within the second ring, a princely courtyard valued at over a billion yuan.

Sun Qian drove to the entrance of the Sun family's mansion, a majestic estate before her. The plaque hanging at the entrance bore the inscription "Sun Residence" in golden characters. Even the two stone lions guarding the entrance were carved from fine jade.

"We're here. Come in with me. I haven't been home in a long time either, so I don't know what it's like inside." Sun Qian looked at the familiar family gate with deep emotion. She reckoned it had been more than three years since she last returned.

"Sister Qian, something's not right. Why are there white lanterns hanging at your house? Did an elder pass away?" Lin Feng noticed the two white lanterns hanging at the entrance and felt something was peculiar.

Hearing Lin Feng's reminder, Sun Qian finally noticed that the atmosphere was amiss. "Oh no, it seems something has happened to my family. Hurry, come in with me!" Sun Qian's face changed slightly, and she hurriedly knocked on the mansion gate.

As soon as the gate opened, Sun Qian saw the old butler with a white cloth tied around his waist.

"Miss, you... you're finally back. Master, he..." The butler was slightly taken aback upon seeing Sun Qian, then spoke with a hint of tears in his voice.

"Uncle Sun, what happened to my father? Hurry and tell me!" Sun Qian was anxious, a bad feeling rising in her heart.

"Master suddenly suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. The hospital couldn't do anything; Master is beyond saving." Uncle Sun replied painfully.

At these words, Sun Qian's vision went black, and she nearly fainted on the spot. Fortunately, Lin Feng quickly supported the swaying Sun Qian and injected a trace of his true energy into her, preventing her from collapsing.

"Sister Qian, don't be so nervous. I'm here. As long as your father has a breath left, I can save him." Lin Feng comforted her.

"Yes, you can save my father. Hurry, come with me!" Sun Qian finally came to her senses and eagerly pulled Lin Feng into the courtyard.

At this moment, many people had already gathered in the courtyard, preparing for the funeral. The courtyard was decorated with white cloths used for the deceased, and even a mourning hall had been set up in advance. Without time to think, Sun Qian led Lin Feng directly to the house where her parents lived.
