"Think whatever you want. What business is it of yours how I got here? What are you to me that I should care what you think?"
Qing Niao snorted displeasedly. Having made up her mind, she ignored Lin Feng, who was being an annoying pest.
Lin Feng saw that Qing Niao was angry and didn't continue to provoke her, quietly sitting in the passenger seat and playing with his phone.
After an unknown amount of time, Qing Niao drove the car to a secluded old district.
Compared to the hustle and bustle of the Kyoto city center, the pace of the old district was noticeably slower.
There were no endless streams of traffic, nor were there bustling crowds.
All there were were clusters of old courtyard houses.
The residents here were mostly elderly people who were unwilling to move, retired grandpas and grandmas from all walks of life in Kyoto.
They spoke fluent Kyoto dialect, either chatting with neighbors at their doorways or taking their birdcages for a stroll.
Their lives were simple and plain, yet they did not lack enjoyment of life.
"The Seventh Division is here? It's well hidden!"
Lin Feng asked with a smile.
"Otherwise? The Seventh Division was originally a civilian department. It only evolved into a state-owned department after it gradually grew stronger."
Qing Niao said, driving the car into a dead-end alley.
"We're here, get out."
Qing Niao turned off the engine and signaled Lin Feng to get out of the car.
"Here? This is a dead-end alley. Don't tell me the Seventh Division is inside the wall?"
Lin Feng got out of the car and looked around, realizing there was no way forward.
"Yes, it's inside the wall."
Qing Niao smiled triumphantly and began to tap on the brick wall.
Her tapping had a rhythmic quality, like a secret code.
After dozens of taps, the brick wall cracked open in the middle with a 'click', like a sliding door. Behind it, a staircase leading underground appeared.
"Let's go. Don't talk nonsense when we get inside. The people at the Seventh Division are not to be trifled with. It's best for you to keep a low profile here."
Qing Niao warned him before they went in.
However, a subtle, playful curve appeared at the corner of Qing Niao's lips.
It seemed as if a conspiracy was afoot, waiting for Lin Feng to fall into it.
Lin Feng didn't reply. He followed Qing Niao down the stairs, and the cracked brick wall behind them closed with a 'whoosh'.
Such a hidden secret door would be impossible to discover for anyone who wasn't an insider.
Walking down the secret passage, they were greeted by a building that resembled an underground air-raid shelter.
As they walked through the passage, the cold air sent shivers down their spines.
After walking for about a dozen meters, a large iron gate appeared ahead.
In front of the iron gate was a table, and seated at the table was an old fortune teller.
The old man was dressed as a fortune teller, with small glasses and a gray robe, and a bamboo tube filled with fortune slips placed in front of him.
He was about sixty years old, with a mustache and a square face, exuding the aura of a worldly divine diviner.
"Uncle Guo, this is Lin Feng. Our boss asked me to cooperate with the investigation. He wants to visit the division."
Qing Niao greeted the old fortune teller.
"Young man, if you wish to enter the division, please extend your hand."
The old fortune teller said, gazing at Lin Feng.
"What do I need to extend my hand for?"
Lin Feng asked, confused.
"Just extend it if he tells you to. This is a rule of the Seventh Division. Outsiders must have their palms read and their fortunes told before entering."
"To prevent any ill-intentioned individuals from causing trouble, Uncle Guo is doing this for the safety of the division."
Qing Niao said impatiently.
"There's such a rule? Alright then, tell my fortune. Let's see what you can find out."
Lin Feng became interested. The rules of the Seventh Division were very peculiar.
While other departments had security checks, this place had fortune-telling checks. How interesting.
Uncle Guo looked at Lin Feng's palm, his expression becoming solemn.
"Young man, if I'm not mistaken, you've come to our place to find something?"
Lin Feng was stunned by this remark.
"Alright, you're quite accurate. I underestimated you."
"Continue, what else did you see?"
Lin Feng was very surprised. He hadn't expected the old man to be so capable.
Little did they know, Uncle Guo was sighing repeatedly, and his expression grew increasingly grim.
He took off his glasses, met Lin Feng's eyes, and then his whole demeanor changed.
He trembled as if he had seen something terrifying, his gaze towards Lin Feng resembling that of a demon.
"Uncle Guo, what's wrong? Is there something amiss?"
Qing Niao, noticing Uncle Guo's abnormal behavior, felt puzzled.
"He has the natural appearance of an emperor. This young man will achieve unparalleled achievements in the future, a true chosen one."
"Last night, I observed the stars and saw the Sirius entering the house, the Big Dipper shifting, and the twenty-eight constellations dimming. This is a sign of great misfortune."
"It seems my Seventh Division is destined to face this calamity!"
"Qing Niao, take this brocade pouch. Remember, do not open it unless it is a matter of life and death!"
Uncle Guo, as if facing a formidable enemy, took out a brocade pouch from his怀 and handed it to Qing Niao.
Qing Niao was bewildered, and Lin Feng was also somewhat confused.
What was going on with this old man? Why was he suddenly so agitated?
"Uncle Guo, why are you giving me this brocade pouch? What is going to happen? Can't you resolve it yourself?"
Qing Niao knew Uncle Guo's abilities and dared not take it lightly.
Uncle Guo did not answer. Instead, he stood up and opened a box. Inside the box was a set of burial clothes.
Under the curious gaze of Qing Niao and Lin Feng, Uncle Guo put on the burial clothes in front of them, even looking in the mirror and tidying his appearance.
He looked as if he was preparing for his final moments.
"Uncle Guo, say something! What exactly is happening? Don't scare me!"
The more Qing Niao looked at Uncle Guo, the more something felt wrong.
"Qing Niao, when I went out this morning, I divined for myself. The hexagram said I would meet someone with the natural appearance of an emperor."
Uncle Guo said with a wry smile.
"Uncle Guo, you're talking about Lin Feng, right? Even if he has the appearance of an emperor, what does meeting him have to do with anything?"
Qing Niao found it amusing. Lin Feng was such a rogue; she couldn't see any emperor-like qualities in him.
"Alas, you know not! My fate has always been weak. When I encounter someone with the appearance of an emperor, it will be my death."
"I still held onto a sliver of hope, thinking the divination was flawed. But now that I see it, my doom is unavoidable."
"This kid is my bane. If I meet him, I will surely die."
Uncle Guo sighed, speaking as if it were a supernatural prophecy.
"Old man, stop scaring yourself. You say you'll die when you meet me, but I have no enmity with you. Why would I kill you?"
"I think your divination is inaccurate."
Lin Feng was somewhat skeptical.
"None of that matters now, kid. Meeting is fate. I'll give you eight words that will be useful to you in the future. Remember them."
Uncle Guo said with a solemn expression, picking up a pen and paper and writing rapidly.
Seeing his seriousness, Lin Feng didn't interrupt and watched him finish writing.
"Phoenix Nirvana, Rebirth Through Fire!"
Uncle Guo presented these eight characters to Lin Feng.
Lin Feng looked at the eight characters, feeling a sense of inexplicable confusion, not quite grasping their meaning.
"Don't ask. Just remember these eight words."
"You can go in now."
Uncle Guo said, making a gesture of permission.
"Old man, then won't you tell her fortune? Why only me?"
Lin Feng felt unbalanced seeing that the old man hadn't told Qing Niao's fortune.
"Qing Niao's fate, I cannot divine. Her abilities are special; no one in this world can divine her fate."
"However, I can responsibly tell you that you and Qing Niao are a perfect match, like a dragon and a phoenix."
"Qing Niao is your lucky star. With her by your side, your path to enlightenment will be very smooth."
As Uncle Guo said these words, his face suddenly turned pale, as if he were having a sudden heart attack. He clutched his chest and collapsed to the ground with a thud.
"Uncle Guo, what's wrong?"
Qing Niao was startled and rushed forward to check on him.
"Sudden heart attack, he really is going to die."
"But you are lucky. I am not your bane; I am your savior."
Lin Feng, understanding the old man's condition, smiled slightly and immediately took out silver needles to administer aid.
