Chapter 513: Chapter 522: Tracking
Seeing Wang Yan and Hu Wei rapidly falling, Wang Yan had no solution whatsoever.
Hu Wei yelled, “Think of something quick, or we’ll end up as mush.”
“Aren’t you at the Demon Master Great Perfection level? Can’t you bounce back up?” Wang Yan said.
“My Demon Pattern is just a mushroom. When have you ever seen a mushroom jump?”
Hearing about the mushroom, Wang Yan suddenly snapped awake and shouted, “Give me the mushroom, quick.”
Without a second thought, Hu Wei said, “I like being bitten.”
As the words fell, a mushroom appeared in Hu Wei’s hand.
Despite the mushroom still looking odd, Wang Yan didn’t care about that now.
If he really fell at a normal person’s level, he might actually die from the fall.
Wang Yan snatched the mushroom from Hu Wei’s hand and swallowed it. As soon as the mushroom reached his stomach, he felt a surge of the Power of Demon Patterns erupt from within, giving him a trace of cultivation. Though not much, it was enough for the moment.
At this time, the two were about to hit the ground, and Hu Wei could clearly see the ground becoming more distinct.
“Ah— we’re gonna die—” Hu Wei screamed sharply.
Just then, Wang Yan’s feet hit the ground, stomping down hard with a “boom.”, creating two massive craters on the solid tarmac. From these craters, countless cracks spread out in all directions.
With the force of this stomp, Wang Yan’s body shot up into the sky like a cannonball, and the already shattered asphalt surface, affected by the recoil, burst into countless fragments, flying wildly.
Hu Wei, held tightly by Wang Yan, found himself surprisingly airborne again rather than smashed to pieces.
His screams stopped abruptly. With a quick roll of his eyes, he said, “I told you, nothing to worry about. With my mushroom, your cultivation’s sure to increase. By the way, boss, what’s your Demon Pattern? It’s really damn amazing, going so high.”
But Wang Yan ignored Hu Wei completely. He knew that though he had some Power of Demon Patterns within him now, it would vanish soon.
So, he had to seize the time to catch up with Wu Xie and see what trick Wu Xie was up to.
Wang Yan soared higher and higher, and just as he reached the peak of his speed, about to descend, his feet tapped the skyscraper’s glass window and pushed him upwards again with that step.
The skyscraper’s smooth, vertical glass windows seemed like level ground under Wang Yan’s feet. In no time, he reached the top of the tall building.
Crossing the roof platform, Wang Yan leapt towards another high-rise building.
Under the bright moonlight, Wang Yan kept jumping across the rooftops of skyscrapers, slowly getting farther away.
Initially, Hu Wei kept boasting about how awesome his mushroom was, but as Wang Yan leapt higher and faster without any sign of stopping,
Hu Wei’s face turned ashen with fear. He clung tightly to Wang Yan’s clothes, not daring to move, muttering, “Please don’t let me become mushroom paste, please don’t let me become mushroom paste.”
But after a while, Hu Wei started mumbling incessantly, “Boss, can’t you slow down a bit? I’m gonna puke!”
“Boss, can we not jump in such high places?”
“Boss, are you messing with me on purpose?”
But no matter what Hu Wei said, Wang Yan’s speed didn’t slow; instead, it kept increasing.
Just when Hu Wei’s stomach was churning, really about to throw up, Wang Yan’s feet hit the ground, standing upon the surface.
As soon as they landed, Hu Wei quickly freed himself from Wang Yan and plopped onto the ground, starting to gasp for air while shaking his hand, “You’re absolutely crazy; next time, I’m not playing with you.”
Then Wang Yan bent down, made a silencing gesture at Hu Wei, and looked into the distance.
Seeing Wang Yan’s alert stance, Hu Wei quickly kept quiet, curiously bending down with Wang Yan to look ahead.
Now they stood amidst mountains, with nothing but pitch-black peaks all around.
The two were on a mountain peak, and looking past this peak, they could see a person standing in the valley.
In the bright moonlight, they could clearly see that the person standing in the valley was Wu Xie.
Wu Xie stood there, surrounded by dense forests, not moving a muscle.
Seeing Wu Xie in the middle of the night alone in desolate mountains, Hu Wei asked in confusion, “What’s he doing here?”
Wang Yan shook his head; he didn’t know what Wu Xie was up to either.
They watched Wu Xie secretly.
At that moment, Wu Xie suddenly snorted coldly, stating, “I wonder how long you can hide.”
Hearing this, Hu Wei shivered in fear and whispered, “Did he discover us?”
Just then, Wu Xie suddenly moved and plunged into the dense forest, returning moments later.
However, when he came back, he was carrying a Wolf.
This Wolf struggled fiercely but couldn’t break free from Wu Xie’s grip.
Wu Xie took a hemp rope from his body and tied the Wolf up, hanging it from a tree. Then Wu Xie pulled out a sharp dagger and an empty bottle.
Then, the corners of Wu Xie’s mouth lifted, and he said coldly, “Haha, today I’ll borrow some of your blood.”
Seeing this, Hu Wei exhaled a sigh of relief, saying, “Now I feel relieved, turns out Dr. Wu’s not out here to harm anyone, right boss, can we go now?”
With that, Hu Wei quietly backed away, muttering, “I was almost scared to death, secretly tailing a Demon King, I really have guts.”
But after taking two steps back, he realized Wang Yan hadn’t moved at all. Hu Wei quickly returned, came to Wang Yan, and whispered, “Boss, we should go.”
But upon seeing Wang Yan’s expression, Hu Wei was stunned. Wang Yan’s eyes were filled with rage, staring intently at Wu Xie.
“Boss, it’s just a Wolf, we don’t need to oppose a Demon King Great Perfection,” Hu Wei quickly persuaded.
However, Wang Yan seemed not to hear Hu Wei’s words at all. The anger in his eyes grew stronger, and suddenly, Wang Yan stood up and rushed to the mountain head.
Hu Wei quickly tried to hold Wang Yan back, but Wang Yan stormed out, charging behind Wu Xie and shouted, “Stop it!”
Seeing Wang Yan charge out, Hu Wei ducked his head in terror, hiding behind the mountain top, thinking, “Oh dear, what a death wish, daring to confront the Demon King, this time Wang Yan’s doomed.”
Wu Xie slowly turned around, glanced coldly at Wang Yan who rushed behind him, showing no hint of surprise. Instead, he said coldly, “Hmph, you finally decided to show up!”
