Chapter 295 An Ordinary Couple

Lan Yan arrived at a small food stall, ordered a table full of delicacies, and quickly sat down. She picked up two pairs of chopsticks, handed one to Jun Yelan, and eagerly picked up food with the other.

She put a shrimp dumpling in her mouth and immediately showed an expression of enjoyment. "Yelan, this is super delicious, try it quickly."

Jun Yelan looked at Lan Yan indulgently, also picked up a dumpling, but placed it in Lan Yan's bowl. He didn't need to eat much and focused on picking food for Lan Yan.

Seeing Lan Yan's slightly puffed-out cheeks, a hint of a smile appeared at the corner of his lips.

Lan Yan was busy eating and didn't have time to speak. By the time she realized it, the plates in front of her were already half-eaten. She turned to see that Jun Yelan's bowl was still empty.

So she picked up a vegetarian bun and fed it directly to Jun Yelan's mouth, saying with a smile, "Ah, one."

Jun Yelan obediently opened his mouth, bit into the bun in front of him, and slowly swallowed. "Yan'er, you eat, I'm already full."

"But I'm full too." Lan Yan touched her stomach a little embarrassed and couldn't help but burp. She covered her mouth shyly, blaming herself for eating too much.

Jun Yelan was amused and said, "It's alright, we'll pack it up for you to eat tonight." He took out a pearl from his embrace and handed it to the stall owner.

The owner's face lit up with joy; it was the first time he had seen someone so generous.

Lan Yan stood up and said, "Boss, this money is more than enough. Pack up everything we just ate." She wouldn't let anyone bully Jun Yelan.

The owner showed a look of regret, but seeing Lan Yan's cold expression, he quickly went to pack. This generous gentleman seemed to have a henpecked wife.

Jun Yelan watched from the side, letting Lan Yan do as she pleased, only responsible for carrying things.

After eating, Lan Yan strolled casually on the street as a way to aid digestion. She saw a shop for rent ahead and said with a smile, "Yelan, let's go take a look."

"Okay," Jun Yelan replied gently.

Lan Yan walked ahead and discovered it was a pastry shop, and the owner was still there. "Boss, how are you renting out this shop?"

She wanted a place to stay with Jun Yelan, but she didn't want to be idle.

The owner smiled and said, "Madam, this shop has bedrooms behind it, and a small courtyard. You and this young gentleman can completely live in the back and run a small business in the front."

"I have to return to the countryside, so I'm in a hurry to rent it out. If you want to buy it, that's also possible." He saw the demeanor of the two and knew they were not ordinary people.

Lan Yan glanced around casually; it fit her plans. But she and Jun Yelan didn't know how long they would stay, so was it necessary to buy!

Jun Yelan saw that Lan Yan liked it and had already taken out a pearl, asking the owner, "Is this enough?"

The owner's eyes lit up. Seeing a pearl the size of an egg this time, he quickly nodded, "Of course, it's enough!" When he reached out to take the pearl, Lan Yan stopped him.

"Wait, Yelan, you get a smaller one." Lan Yan pulled Jun Yelan aside and specifically instructed him.

Jun Yelan looked confused but still listened to Lan Yan, taking out one the size of a pebble from his embrace and handing it to her.

"This one will do." Lan Yan handed it to the owner, took back the shop deed and land deed, and then saw the owner off.

Then she rolled up her sleeves and said with a smile, "Yelan, let's start cleaning. This will be our home from now on."

The thought of only her and Jun Yelan being there, with no one else disturbing them, made her feel that good days had finally arrived, and her actions became much quicker.

This was Jun Yelan's first time cleaning a house, and he did everything as Lan Yan said.

Looking at the refreshed house, both were tired and lay down on the couch. Lan Yan pulled Jun Yelan's arm, rested her head underneath her neck, closed her eyes, and murmured, "This is so good."

"Mhm," Jun Yelan responded softly and reached out to pull Lan Yan into his embrace.

The two fell asleep leaning against each other, not even eating the packed dinner.

The next morning, Lan Yan pulled Jun Yelan to make several pastries, displayed them in the shop, and shouted, "Fresh and delicious pastries! No charge if they're not tasty."

A few passersby were attracted, and seeing such exquisite pastries, they smiled and said, "Shop owner, is what you say true?"

"Come, you can try them." Lan Yan had prepared small portions specifically for customers to taste.

After eating a few, the customers all found them delicious and bought some before leaving. Some men remained in the shop and whispered, "The owner of this new shop is really beautiful."

"Indeed, I wonder where she's from, and if she's married?"

Jun Yelan had just gone inside to get pastries and came out, hearing such words, his eyes turned cold. He walked to Lan Yan's side and called out, "Wife, as you instructed, I've finished. Is there anything else you need me to do?"

As he said this, he was very close to Lan Yan, his warm breath falling on her ear.

Lan Yan's ears instantly turned red, and she said, "No more, please help me pack."

"Okay." Jun Yelan also held Lan Yan's hand, deliberately facing the direction of those men, and let go after a long time while packing.

The men were immediately disappointed and also noticed Jun Yelan's cold gaze, quickly withdrawing. The owner's husband was not someone to be trifled with!

Lan Yan didn't notice the small movements of the people around her. After selling all the pastries she made today, she turned to see Jun Yelan looking a bit downcast. "Yelan, what's wrong?"

She pulled on Jun Yelan's cheek, smiling, "It looks good when you smile."

Jun Yelan, with his face being pulled, said, "Yan'er, they were all looking at you."

"Oh," Lan Yan said with a look of understanding. She stood on tiptoe to meet Jun Yelan's eyes and smiled, "But I only have eyes for you. See, I do now."

Jun Yelan immediately smiled, picked Lan Yan up, and spun her around in the shop.

"Yelan, put me down quickly, there are people outside," Lan Yan said shyly, pushing against Jun Yelan's shoulders.

Jun Yelan curved his lips, "This way, everyone will know you are mine, and no one can take you away." He continued to spin Lan Yan around, then hugged her tightly.

His Yan'er was radiant wherever she was, so he had to treat her well and ensure she couldn't leave him.

Thus, for the next few days, whatever Lan Yan wanted to do, Jun Yelan would help. Later, she simply sat on a chair, and as soon as she said it, Jun Yelan would bring her what she needed.

She felt her husband was becoming more and more like a puppy, when he should have been an ancient demonic beast.

Jun Yelan was happy to do it; being able to take care of Lan Yan was the best.

Lan Yan smiled helplessly. While Jun Yelan went to buy groceries, she summoned the system. "System, are you still there?"

After a long pause, the system's voice came into her mind, "Host, I thought you had forgotten me. I still can't see the progress bar, but I feel the passing score has been achieved. The rest is up to you."

"Mhm." Lan Yan's expression became dejected. Once the passing score was achieved, it meant the final days were not far away. She patted her face, forcing a smile, and resolved to live each day well.

Seeing this, the system hesitated and said, "Host, actually..."
