Chapter 392 The Deepest Fear

Jun Yelan was disoriented, shaking his head.

He vaguely saw a scene before him: Lan Yan collapsing before him, bleeding from all seven orifices. He knelt down, cradling the person on the ground, weeping profusely.

Remembering his promise to Lan Yan, he looked at the blade in his hand, raising it to his own neck, about to cut.

"Jun Yelan, stop!" Lan Yan knelt beside him, grasping his blade. She had just seen Jun Yelan suddenly embrace the snow on the ground and cry, filled with confusion.

Then she saw Jun Yelan about to harm himself, and quickly intervened, shouting, "Jun Yelan, wake up!"

Jun Yelan could not hear the surrounding sounds, nor could he see the real Lan Yan.

Immersed in his own vision, he slashed with all his might, blood dripping down.

It was Lan Yan's blood from her palm, falling onto the snow. Both her hands were on the blade, and seeing Jun Yelan's actions not cease, she grew more anxious. "Jun Yelan, wake up for me!"

She cried out, seeing Jun Yelan falter slightly. Seizing the opportunity, she snatched the blade away. She threw it far off, ignoring the blood on her hands, and turned to embrace Jun Yelan.

"Yelan, you promised me, to protect me forever. Remember!"

The surrounding assassins pressed closer, their eyes glinting with triumph as they saw Jun Yelan attempt to kill himself.

They raised their weapons and lunged at Jun Yelan, but he was shielded by Lan Yan, so they attacked her first.

Lan Yan did not retreat; instead, she held Jun Yelan tighter. She refused to believe that she and Jun Yelan would die here! kuAiδugg

As the assassins' weapons drew near, Jun Yelan looked up and instinctively struck out with his palm, shattering their weapons. In his world, he was holding Lan Yan's corpse, and these people were trying to snatch it away.

Seeing this, Lan Yan knew Jun Yelan was not completely controlled and called out joyfully, "Yelan, I know you're conscious, just trapped for a moment. Shall we leave here?"

She tried to help Jun Yelan up and walked forward, away from the assassins.

Jun Yelan followed her instructions obediently.

However, how could Pavilion Master Bai be content to see this? He shook the bell in his hand harder and said coldly, "Kill the person beside you. She's the one who killed your beloved."

"It was her appearance that turned you into someone else, making you alone and leading you to make wrong choices."

Jun Yelan clutched his head again, yelling incoherently, appearing to be in great pain.

"Pavilion Master Bai!" Lan Yan was furious and wanted to beat him. While comforting Jun Yelan, she threw the remaining poison needles, hoping to distract Pavilion Master Bai.

Pavilion Master Bai, in his excitement, didn't notice the approaching needles. His arm was wounded. He easily pulled it out and sneered, "The same thing, you think I'll fall for it a second time!"

As he spoke, his head shook, and his pupils widened in shock as he looked at Lan Yan.

Lan Yan smiled. "When did I say it was the same!" She had read many medical books along the way and had long since altered the medicine on the poison needles. This was her grand gift to Pavilion Master Bai.

Pavilion Master Bai's head shook more violently, and he involuntarily knelt on one knee, realizing he had underestimated Lan Yan. "Lan Yan, think carefully. Jun Yelan will be like this, completely mad, forever. Do you want to care for a lunatic!"

He knew Jun Yelan's capabilities. If he wouldn't obey, he had to be destroyed.

Lan Yan didn't stop walking. She turned and said, "Pavilion Master Bai, you should worry about yourself! Unlike you, I have never thought of using Jun Yelan; I genuinely wish him well."

"No matter how he becomes, he is still the person I first met." She subtly let go of Jun Yelan and walked towards Pavilion Master Bai.

Pavilion Master Bai was still stunned. Seeing Lan Yan approach suddenly, he quickly hid the bell. "I knew you'd say so much all at once, so this is what it's for. You think you can get it easily!"

"It's not me who's taking it." Lan Yan curled her lips, looking at him with a smile.

Pavilion Master Bai was startled. Instinctively, he turned his head, only to be kicked fiercely by Jun Yelan from behind, sending him flying far away. He spat out a mouthful of blood and raised his hand to point at Jun Yelan.

Lan Yan stood beside Jun Yelan, looking at the bell left on the ground, and picked it up. She smiled, "Pavilion Master Bai, the current Jun Yelan only allows me to approach. Anyone else will be attacked."

She had discovered this secret earlier and deliberately led Jun Yelan away. It seemed like a retreat, but in reality, she was getting closer to Pavilion Master Bai step by step. She would not leave this bell, giving Pavilion Master Bai a chance to harm Jun Yelan.

Pavilion Master Bai, enraged, spat out another mouthful of blood. "You're plotting against me."

"You plotted against Jun Yelan first!" Lan Yan glared. She and Jun Yelan had planned to leave, but Pavilion Master Bai still wouldn't let Jun Yelan go. This was his own doing.

A hand suddenly fell on her head. She turned to look at the still dazed Jun Yelan, who, even in his confusion, knew to comfort her.

Her lips curved slightly, and she murmured, "Yelan, even if you're like this forever, I won't abandon you."

Jun Yelan's mind was injured by the bell, isolating him from the outside world. But he instinctively cared for the person beside him, protecting her, and his lips parted slightly as he said, "Don't... be sad."

"Okay." Lan Yan lunged into Jun Yelan's arms, hugging his waist, her eyes already moist. After a while, she released him and took his hand.

Jun Yelan froze in place, feeling the warmth in his hand. The scenes in his mind gradually became clearer. He saw Lan Yan standing before him, smiling at him, his pupils regaining clarity.

He stammered, "Yan'er."

Lan Yan smiled, tears of joy streaming down her face. "It's me."

Jun Yelan reached out and wiped away Lan Yan's tears, asking confusedly, "Yan'er, why are you crying? Did someone bully you?" He only remembered defeating the assassins and then falling into a terrible nightmare.

"No." Lan Yan shook her head, sniffing, her lips curving into a smile again. She didn't want Jun Yelan to know about what had just happened; he would blame himself.

Jun Yelan looked at his hands, which were covered in blood, and it wasn't his blood, but Lan Yan's. He grasped Lan Yan's wrist and cried out, "No, you're hurt. Someone hurt you."

The blood stimulated his pupils. He took out medicine and bandages, first dressing Lan Yan's wounds, then shouting, "Yan'er, wait for me."

He turned, his eyes fiercely scanning the surroundings. Lying on the ground were Pavilion Master Bai and his men. He picked up the blade from the ground and said coldly, "You hurt her. You all deserve to die!"

Pavilion Master Bai and his men were filled with fear. They felt that the current Jun Yelan was not right, even more terrifying than his previous madness. They realized they had touched Jun Yelan's reverse scale, and now things were dire!

Jun Yelan's mind held only one thought: they had hurt Lan Yan!
