Chapter 9 The Original Owner's Pit

Lan Yan forced a laugh. "My mind was definitely messed up before, that's why I said those things. I'm normal now and won't say them again."

Seeing that Jun Yelan didn't seem to believe her, she continued, "I've really changed. I can swear to the heavens." She raised three fingers towards the sky. "If I ever bully you again, let me be struck by heavenly lightning."

Just then, thunder rumbled outside the window. Startled, she inwardly grumbled, *Heavens, can't you give me a little face?*

"Heh," Jun Yelan sneered. "Even heaven doesn't believe you, so how can I? The medicine has been applied, why are you still here?"

He gave a self-deprecating smile, knowing that Lan Yan couldn't possibly be genuinely kind to him, and he would never receive any warmth. httpδ:/m.kuAisugg.nět

Lan Yan was speechless this time, all thanks to the thunder. She got up and instructed, "Make sure you cover yourself with the blanket. If you need anything tonight, call me. I'll be sleeping on the couch next to you."

She walked over to the nearby couch, and perhaps due to being exhausted these past few days, she fell asleep instantly.

Seeing her truly asleep on the couch, Jun Yelan was somewhat surprised. She was always unexpected lately. He stared at Lan Yan's sleeping posture and noticed she hadn't covered herself. He then looked at his own blanket and for a moment, felt the urge to get up.

But he suppressed the impulse, lay down, and closed his eyes.

That night, a heavy rain began to fall, washing the entire manor clean. The next morning, when she woke up, the air outside the window felt much fresher.

After Lan Yan got up, she saw that Jun Yelan was still asleep, so she went to the courtyard for a run. After her run, she saw Chun Tao and had grown accustomed to her surprised expression.

"Go and tidy up the courtyard next to mine. We'll have other young ladies and young masters stay there." She heard children laughing nearby, thinking it might improve Jun Yelan's mood.

Chun Tao still kept her head bowed and replied, "Yes, Miss." She was almost accustomed to her mistress's astounding actions. She went down to make arrangements and returned with Lan Ya following behind her.

Lan Ya's face lit up with enthusiasm upon seeing Lan Yan. "Eldest Sister, the weather is lovely today. Shall we go out on the street?" It was the first time she had invited her eldest sister out; she usually wouldn't dare.

Lan Yan glanced at the closed bedroom door. She really needed to buy some things for Jun Yelan. There were no snake clan items in this manor. She then said, "Okay. Chun Tao, when Jun Yelan wakes up, tell him to drink the porridge and medicine."

"Also, don't let anyone into my courtyard. Let him move freely here." She was worried others might disturb Jun Yelan, and if they said something suicidal, it would be even harder for her.

Chun Tao took the order.

Seeing that everything was arranged, Lan Yan left with Lan Ya. It was her first time on the street, and she was unfamiliar with the roads. Fortunately, with her sister there, she wouldn't be exposed.

Various vendors lined the street, displaying a dazzling array of goods. Pedestrians bustled about. Nearby, she heard a conversation between passersby: "Have you heard? Treasure Pavilion and Brocade Pavilion have new arrivals. Let's hurry and take a look."

Lan Yan also overheard. Judging by the names, she knew what kind of places they were, and they were exactly where she wanted to shop. She said, "Lan Ya, let's go take a look too."

She and Lan Ya arrived at Brocade Pavilion and saw two sets of men's clothing on display. The first set was moon-white, with patterns on the cuffs and waist that resembled clouds, giving it an ethereal feel.

The second set was sky-blue, with bamboo leaves sewn onto the cuffs and a tassel shaped like bamboo hanging from the waist.

The image of Jun Yelan wearing them instantly flashed through her mind. Combined with his face and physique, he would surely look incredibly handsome. A brilliant smile bloomed on her lips. She had to have both sets!

"Shopkeeper, wrap them up for me."

"Shopkeeper, I'll take them all." Lan Yan finished speaking, only to hear another voice trying to snatch them up. She turned her head and saw Lin Sheng, his face contorted in anger. She immediately felt indignant.

This person deserved a beating!
