Chapter 589: Name

“Why have Bai Feng and the Xi God’s mud figurine been tied together?” Gao Ming narrowed his eyes.

“Organ Insertion! Madam Xi came here to ask the Dream Priest to help Xi God’s descension!” Fu Shu said quickly, “Xi God cannot return due to Bai Feng’s strong willpower. Therefore, they decided to use this method to sacrifice Bai Feng to help the Xi God!” Fu Shu started to wonder, “However, you have swallowed more than half of the Xi God, and the Xi Temple has been destroyed. Theoretically speaking, the Dream Priest wouldn’t be kind enough to help him. Have they reached some kind of trade?”

“There’s no need to waste time on that. The friend of my enemy is my enemy.” The wound on Gao Ming’s stomach finally closed. With his gaze glued to Bai Feng, he moved towards the white tent. The Dream Priest’s knife didn’t cut through Bai Feng’s stomach, but it carved out names on her skin. Just as Gao Ming considered what to do, the youngsters had reached the colourless figurines. There were many Gods in Dream Break Town. They represented a part of Dream. The amalgamation of all the Gods created Dream.

However, as Fu Shu mentioned, to speed up the cultivation of Dream Break Town, Immortal Pharma placed many strange figurines and objects in town. These objects might contain the presence of other Unmentionables.

A young man held a blade and righted the figurine of the Dragon King. The figurine didn’t look at all similar to the Water Dragon King. It didn’t feature anything snake-like. The young man applied great force and slashed through the figurine’s stomach.

The mud parted like human skin. Talismans that were covered in water patterns and prayers for rain fell out of the stomach. The young man kowtowed a few times before reaching into the figurine to pull out a handful of hay and something that looked like human bones.

“Those normal-looking hay and talismans are divine organs. Without them, the figurines lose their divinities.” Just as Fu Shu said that, the previously-perfect figurines started to crack. When the last talisman was removed, the figurine crumbled into a table of dust.

The young man returned to the white tent. A group of citizens in red prepared magpies, bats, snakes and herbs to mix with the divine organs. All of the animals were pulsing with life.

The citizens danced around the divine organs as they chanted for resurrection. They were like mental patients.

Gao Ming silently approached the figurines outside the tent. When Gao Ming touched them, his heart was plucked. The hidden faith and curse on the figurines made him feel very familiar. Suppressing the God of Flesh and Blood, Gao Ming swiped the figurines and went to hide in a nearby home.

After saving the figurines, the pain in Gao Ming lessened. Cold spring water flowed into his head that was bursting with memory fragments. Logic smoothed things over. Two divine mirages appeared in his eyes before disappearing. One of them lived in the past, the other in the future.

“Were my eyes the former residence of two Gods?” For a moment, Gao Ming could see the karmic fates that intertwined around him. Normal people had several karmic strands, but Gao Ming was bound by more than several million strands. His choice would change the fates of countless lives.

The mysterious figurines evoked the memory fragments in Gao Ming’s mind. They had once appeared in Gao Ming’s nightmare. Gao Ming’s eyes returned to normal. Gao Ming remembered more things.

“Stop spacing out. Why aren’t you even a bit flustered, considering how dangerous things are?” Fu Shu had no limbs, or else he’d worship the figurines.

“Yes. I should be more nervous.” Gao Ming’s eyes were taken over by humanity. He hid the coldness in his eyes.

The ritual inside the white tent was uninterrupted. However, the organs inside the Dragon King figurine were not enough. The Dream Priest ordered the people to recover more organs. Two youths walked out and discovered the figurines were gone. They didn’t think someone would dare to steal from the ancestral hall. This was basically stealing from the Dream Priest!

The new divine organs didn’t appear. One of the life candles in the four corners was extinguished. Bai Feng coughed out a lot of blood. The Dream Priest’s tattoed face changed. They shivered as if convulsing. Black names appeared on their body. They were similar to the names on the giant stone at the village entrance. The characters kept rearranging themselves. The Dream Priest shook harder. They appeared to be dancing in the storm until all the shattered names formed a bloodred eye in their palm. Gao Ming’s name appeared in the eye.

“Over there!” The Dream Priest accurately pointed out where Gao Ming was hiding. The citizens in red rapidly closed in on Gao Ming. Gao Ming couldn’t escape with so many figurines, so he ran away on his own.

“I don’t want to fight you. I’m here to save my friend.” Gao Ming didn’t want to use the butcher’s knife lest it attract the attention of the butcher. Holding his altar, he glanced at his wounds that had just healed. “I was the one who injured the Xi God. If you want to find someone to cooperate with, why not consider me?”

The Dream Priest ignored Gao Ming. The names on their arms crawled into the eyeball in their palm, trying to touch Gao Ming’s name.

At the same time, Gao Ming’s view of Dream Break Town changed. His body appeared to be split into different worlds. His legs stepped on the stone path, but his upper body felt like it was soaked in a lab’s nutrient liquid, and his brain was stored in the fridge.

“The Dream Priest is using the dreams of different people to segregate your consciousness and steal your senses.” Fu Shu was affected, and his words became tinged with fear. “They are a natural deterrent to Dream Release. The nightmares you release will be stolen by them. Be careful!”

“My nightmares should be more dangerous than this town. I doubt they can steal them.” Gao Ming shook his head and opened the altar slightly. “For me, that is a real world. It is a world that is scarier than any nightmare.”
