Chapter 278 Moving to a New Residence

The receptionist blinked when Jiang Ye entered.

She quickly went to meet him.

"I'm looking for Leiya," Jiang Ye said before she could ask.

"I'll take you up," the receptionist said with a smile, a knowing look in her eyes. "You're really fast."

"Ah, it's nothing," Jiang Ye said as he entered the elevator.

He went straight to the top floor, knocked without ceremony, and entered.

Leiya was lying on a small hammock by the window, fully dressed, playing on her phone.

"I've got the ten billion. I want fifty worm farms, and I want them now," Jiang Ye said, plopping down on the desk.

Leiya didn't believe him and didn't even look at him. "How long has it been? You can't make money that fast. Are you messing with me?"

"Don't think I don't know what you're up to. You want half the money now, and the other half during construction, right? I'm telling you, no way! I'll pay the full amount upfront before you start. Go back and get the money together, then come back."

Leiya snorted.

"Don't guess. I'm not asking for installments. Ten billion in cash, I can pay it immediately," Jiang Ye said. "You gather the construction team and send me your account details. I'll transfer the money when I get back."

"You won't give up until you hit a wall. Do I really need to go back to transfer money? I can pay with facial recognition. Come on, let me expose you right here. If you can't pay, get out!"

Leiya took out her phone, opened the facial recognition payment, set the amount to ten billion, and took a picture of Jiang Ye.

"Payment successful!" the prompt appeared.

Leiya's expression froze.

She had expected an "insufficient balance" notification to embarrass Jiang Ye, but it had actually gone through?

Leiya sat up and looked at Jiang Ye as if she had seen a ghost. "Are you tricking me?"

"What are you talking about? How am I tricking you?" Jiang Ye was speechless. "I've given you the money. Get the construction team here within an hour!"

"You said earlier you only had five billion, and now you've paid successfully. You're faking it, aren't you?" Leiya frowned. "Is this fun for you?"

"Hey, don't make baseless accusations. I really only had five billion earlier. I just borrowed this money," Jiang Ye got off the desk, too lazy to argue. "I'm going back to send you the specific location. Get the construction team here quickly. If this project isn't done well, you'll be facing complaints."

With that, Jiang Ye left.

Leiya stood there, looking disgusted and angry for a long time.

She really didn't want to work. This Jiang Ye was so aggressive about borrowing money, he had the construction funds in no time. What was most infuriating was that she had already spoken and accepted the money, so she couldn't back out.

With no other choice, she tapped the screen on her desk and began to dispatch the construction team.

Jiang Ye returned to the base vehicle and sent Leiya the construction location.

Then, he drove the base vehicle through the streets and left Binhai City.

He had to move. The mansion near the hot spring area was completed. Driving the base vehicle to the hot spring area would make it convenient to go to the front lines or return to Binhai City, saving a lot of travel time.

The base vehicle sped away, passing through a bamboo and willow forest outside the city, entering a gray-yellow wilderness. After driving for an unknown amount of time, it reached Shale Town and passed through a tunnel.

Continuing on, it arrived at the hot spring mansion district.

Many workers were still wandering around the mansion district, carrying saplings and carrying out the final street landscaping. Once the trees were planted, the project would be completely finished.

Jiang Ye found his house, Villa Number Six, and drove the base vehicle into the yard.

As soon as he entered the yard, two workers put down their saplings and walked over.

"Hey! You can't park here! Back up!" the worker said gruffly.

Jiang Ye rolled down the window and stuck his head out. "Why can't I park in my own yard?"

The worker was taken aback when he saw the head sticking out of the car. "Oh, Commander Jiang! Please, park wherever you like!"

Jiang Ye parked the base vehicle in the underground garage, then walked back to the surface to inspect the entire building.

It was much more beautiful than he had imagined.

It wasn't a rigid block building, but three staggered glass bodies, resembling a half-rotated Rubik's Cube. This design could withstand strong winds, and because the light exposure was different, the temperature and illumination on each floor would vary.

He swiped his face at the entrance, and the glass door opened automatically.

There was still a scent of a new house in the air, mainly from the furniture. The decoration was light and minimalist. Looking around, there was almost no dark furniture; it was all decorated in light green, off-white, light blue, and pale yellow, making it very relaxing.

Jiang Ye heard a faint buzzing sound, like his phone vibrating. He followed the sound and saw a plate-shaped sweeping robot crawling on the floor.

It took him half an hour to tour the entire house, including the basement.

Jiang Ye was both satisfied and felt it was a waste.

The house was too big, and many spaces felt redundant.

For example, there were six bedrooms alone. The largest bedroom was over a hundred square meters, and the smallest was thirty square meters, all furnished with good beds. What was the use of so many bedrooms? Did he plan to set five alarms and switch rooms every time one went off?

There were even more bathrooms, a total of eight. Each bedroom had a bathroom, and there was one bathroom on each floor and in the basement.

Jiang Ye thought the villa designer must have had a very poor digestive system, prone to sudden diarrhea, which was why so many bathrooms were installed, fearing he wouldn't make it in time if the distance was too far.

The entire villa wasn't very tall; he could reach the top in a few steps, yet it had two elevators. One was large enough to drive a small car into, and the other was of normal size.

Jiang Ye looked at the elevators, then at the solid wood spiral staircase, and didn't understand.

The large bathroom on the top floor surprised Jiang Ye even more. It had a Roman palace-style marble bathtub, with pure gold faucets for hot water and pure silver faucets for cold water.

On the wall, there was a row of synthesis machines, shaped like small dispensers, with functions labeled on them. They could synthesize four types of bath products: "Bath Milk," "Bath Rose," "Bath Vinegar," and "Bath Red Wine."

Jiang Ye pressed "Bath Rose," and the machine buzzed a few times, actually spitting out a fresh, bright red rose, as if freshly picked.

He pressed it a few more times, and several roses fell out. Jiang Ye put them together and found that each rose was identical, as if copied and pasted.

He judged that the principle of this synthesis machine was likely 3D printing, essentially the same as clothing printers and food printers.

If a girl ever came to take a bath in the future, he might be able to fill a bathtub with milk and roses, which sounded quite romantic.

However, looking out the window, there was a steaming hot spring pool ten meters away, making such a bathroom seem somewhat redundant.

The basement was divided into two halves. One half was a storage room, with a whole wall of wooden shelves, presumably for storing wine, but Jiang Ye didn't drink and had no wine. The other half was an armory with metal doors, with slots on the walls for hanging guns. Currently, there were no guns, only some exquisite axes, hammers, and other tools.

Jiang Ye went to the kitchen, opened the food printer, and printed a cup of orange juice for himself.

After taking a couple of sips, the buzzing sound approached. The plate-like sweeping robot entered the room.

"Master, you have an unread message from Che Zhen," the robot said, throwing out a holographic projection, which was the interface of the chat channel.
