Chapter 196 Laying the Foundation

"Alright, I'll go now," Rate said.

Rate excitedly went to find the clan leader to discuss the matter. Wente, however, asked, "What does it mean to lay the foundation?"

Shu Yue explained, "It means to compact the ground so that the house won't easily collapse."

Wente suddenly understood. "So that's what it means."

"I'll go find Ah Shui and the others to help later. We'll find stones first, and once we find suitable ones, we can start."

Just as they were discussing the dimensions for cutting the stones, Rate and Balun hurried over.

Balun entered and immediately asked, "Xin'er, what's this about the house? Tell Father carefully."

Ignoring the issue of the address, Shu Xin opened the tablet and showed him the sketch. Balun's pupils contracted, his gaze fixed on the tablet, unable to move.

"What is this!"

Just as Rate was thinking about how to explain it to his father, he saw Shu Yue wink at him and abandoned his idea of explaining.

Shu Yue said mysteriously, "Uncle, don't tell anyone. This is actually a treasure bestowed upon Sister by the Beast God."

They had decided not to hide the tablet's purpose from Balun. In the future, if they wanted to do anything, they would need Balun's consent. After observing him for a while, they found Balun to be trustworthy.

Balun wasn't resistant to the idea of the Beast God's blessing; in fact, he had always felt it should be so. His gaze shifted between Shu Xin and Shu Yue. "You are messengers of the Beast God, aren't you?"

"..." Shu Yue felt a bead of sweat.

"We are not," Shu Xin replied firmly.

Rate gave Balun a meaningful look. "Father, Xin'er and the others just know more than others. They aren't Beast God messengers."

Balun's eyes twitched. If they weren't, they weren't. He was indeed getting old; he didn't have as much foresight as these children!

"Yes, I misspoke. Let's talk about the house again." His gaze returned to the diagram on the tablet.

Anyone with a bit of sense could understand it. Balun nodded in admiration. "The idea for the house is excellent. Rate mentioned you have plans for the tribe's future?"

Shu Xin nodded and said calmly, "I do have some ideas. I believe that in the future, whether living in caves or beast skin tents is not a long-term solution."

"We should build houses. Regardless of the rainy season or winter, the tribe members won't have to move back and forth, which will be more conducive to our lives."

She then painted a picture for Balun of what the tribe would become with houses.

"Once the city walls are built and streets are paved, we will no longer be the Warrior Tribe, but Warrior City."

The future prosperous scene was described through words. The three beastmen listened with excitement, while Shu Yue had already drawn it on the tablet.

Balun gasped when he saw her drawing. "Yueyue, this is?"

Shu Yue drew the last few lines and smiled, "This is the future Warrior City."

Majestic city walls enclosed a small town. Two rows of houses stretched out as if endless, with a street in the middle for people to walk. Shu Yue added a few more things to the street, including small figures strolling.

"Uncle, we can set up stalls on both sides of the street, allowing the tribe members to trade."

Balun was so shocked he couldn't speak, his eyes fixed on her hands. How did she draw this!

Wente, with a hint of jealousy, covered the female's small hand. "Uncle, look at the drawing."

"..." Balun's mouth twitched.

"Can our tribe really become like this?"

Shu Xin smiled. "Of course, but it's not something that can be done overnight. Let's take it slow and build houses first."

"We'll build one first. If there are no problems, the tribe can start building houses."

Balun had no objections other than "good" and declared, "From now on, you can do whatever you want to transform the tribe. I trust you!"

With the Beast God's messengers in his tribe, what else could he worry about? He could already see the Warrior Tribe becoming the strongest city on the Beastman Continent!

Balun consistently believed that Shu Xin and Shu Yue were both messengers of the Beast God. The two were different from other females, and this uniqueness was too strong to ignore.

After a long discussion, Balun reluctantly left. As he departed, he announced that they could use as many tribe members as they needed and do whatever they wished.

They acted immediately. Wente went out to find his good brothers to help lay the foundation.

Da Jin and Da Jiang, two large cats, were basking in the sun on the cave roof. Wente knew where they were without guessing.

"Da Jin, Da Jiang, I need your help with something."

Da Jin flicked his tail. "What kind of help?"

Wente: "You'll know when you come over. Where is Ah Shui?"

Da Jiang smiled mysteriously. "Ah Shui? That guy is currently chasing after a female's behind!"

"Which female?" Wente raised an eyebrow.

Da Jiang chuckled. "Don't you know? Ah Shui is pursuing Jiao Jiao now. I saw them in that small forest over there." He pointed in a direction.

Wente glanced back, a little surprised. When did Ah Shui start liking Jiao Jiao?

"You guys go to my place first. Rate is waiting for you. I'll go find Ah Shui." It's daytime, they shouldn't be mating, right?

Wente, with no qualms about disturbing his good brother's romance, went to the small forest to find him.

Ah Shui, who was displaying his masculine charm in the forest, suddenly heard someone call him.

"Ah Shui, I need to talk to you." Wente didn't approach the two, shouting to the two figures ahead from more than ten meters away.

Ah Shui looked back and replied, "I'm coming!"

It wasn't yet the stage for courtship, so Ah Shui had no complaints about being interrupted.

"Jiao Jiao, Wente needs me for something. I'll go over first, and I'll come back to find you tonight~"

Jiao Jiao haughtily tilted her chin. "I might not come out tonight."

Ah Shui scratched the back of his head. "No, you have to come out. I haven't finished what I wanted to say. I'll say it tonight."

"Wait for me, or I'll come to your house to find you!"

After saying the last sentence, Ah Shui ran towards Wente. As his hundreds of pounds of weight moved, even the tree roots trembled.

Jiao Jiao stomped her foot behind him, unsure who she was angry with.

Wente sized up his brother. "When did you start liking Jiao Jiao?"

Ah Shui chuckled. "I've always liked her, but she only liked you before. I didn't fight you for her. Who knew you didn't want her!" He didn't fight because he couldn't win, for no other reason.

Wente shook his head helplessly. "I never liked her. Why didn't you ask me before?"

Ah Shui's mouth twitched. "Now I know."

"What did you need me for?"

"Laying the foundation."

When they arrived at the site, they understood what they were supposed to do and couldn't help but feel a bit speechless. They didn't remember their brothers when there was good food, but only thought of them when there was work to be done?

As if sensing their dissatisfaction, Wente said, "When you get married, Rate and I will also help you build houses."

Ah Shui immediately chimed in, "Don't worry, you won't be able to escape then!"
