The Trickster King

Chapter 535 The War Is Over

Therefore, his current course of action was to bluff, and he knew that this bluff wouldn't last long, as An Mie surely had ways to maintain contact with the Saint Roman faction. The more time he could buy, the better.

Due to An Mie's interference, Unforeseen Blade lacked a precise understanding of Saint Roman's combat strength. Although he had witnessed the firepower of the bombers, to someone of his caliber, these were insignificant trinkets, not worth taking seriously.

Consequently, he held a degree of contempt for Saint Roman's capabilities. This was also why, after the Tri-Phase Bomb suddenly detonated and struck him, he suffered a minor setback.

But that was unimportant; that single instance shattered his arrogance, forcing him to become cautious once more. He remained confident that as long as he unleashed his full power, these ants would be no match for him!

Then, other colors began to appear in the sky as meteorites descended from above. However, unlike ordinary meteorites, they were all imbued with a faint, pale jade glow!

Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom!

Countless meteorites rained down. While they didn't all strike Unforeseen Blade directly, the few that did land on him were enough to leave him bleeding from his head!

Unforeseen Blade was instantly stunned.

What the hell? How could the enemy be so strong?

He sensed that the situation was not right. Damn it, this rate of progress was unheard of, even for Soul Reaver! Soul Reaver had taken nearly ten thousand years to reach a level comparable to his own!

He cursed inwardly, but his hands did not cease their movements for a moment. He was already heavily injured, and being struck by these meteorites infused with magic would truly mean his end!

Unfortunately, as he attempted to do so, another individual made their move.

He saw a sky filled with holy light, burning his body and obscuring his vision. From this familiar radiance, he recognized the presence of his old friend. Enraged, he turned his head and, across an immense distance, saw a familiar face.

"Radal!" he spat through gritted teeth, "You're still alive, Radal!"

Bai Yang heard the booming voice; in fact, everyone present heard that terrifying sound. But facing Unforeseen Blade, Bai Yang's expression remained unchanged, and he offered no response, merely continuing with his assigned task.

He was part of the plan, and the Saint Roman faction had further contingencies.

For instance, the relentless bombardment from the Zeppelin airships on the other side.

The surrounding temperature began to plummet rapidly, even extinguishing the demonic energy flames that enveloped Unforeseen Blade.

He gradually sensed danger and felt a flicker of desire to retreat. But then he discovered he was trapped as if in quicksand. With a horrified glance, he saw that all the demons were now restricted in their movements by the intense cold air!

They want to kill me!

This thought surfaced, and he instantly broke out in a cold sweat.

They had planned this all along. An Mie wasn't unprepared. The enemy had made preparations; they intended to kill me!

With this realization, he immediately began to burn his power madly, attempting to break free from the restraint. Alas, it was too late.

"So... Unforeseen Blade still escaped?"

Xiao Xun asked, his expression blank, looking at An Mie before him. An Mie chuckled a couple of times and scratched the back of his head, "Yes, he still managed to escape... I didn't expect him to react so quickly."

Xiao Xun said softly, "It's fine."

His voice remained devoid of emotion, "Vincent and the others can handle that guy."

"Oh?" An Mie raised an eyebrow, "So confident in them?"

"Of course. My main purpose for coming here was to deal with the King of Wrath."

"Because the forces stationed here are primarily the direct forces of the King of Wrath, and I haven't infiltrated any of them. Therefore, if I were to cause a disturbance, the effect would not be good."

"Thus, attacking here would be most effective!"

"I understand, then we will attack here."

"There's one more thing." An Mie leaned closer, his voice dropping.

"This is a tough nut to crack, and it's not ideal for us to do it alone."

Xiao Xun saw through his intentions, "You little rascal, thinking about internal strife before you've even won?"

"Isn't that what you were thinking too?"

Xiao Xun's expression soured, "Don't play such petty games."

"Fine, then they should be the ones to crack this tough nut. My people are rebelling, and the greatest benefit lies in not taking direct action. This is something they truly need to do."

"Then let them do it. I haven't denied your plan, just don't consider these factors in the future."

"I understand," An Mie nodded again.

Then, he changed the subject, "However, speaking of which, Your Highness Swain, once the war is completely over, how do you plan to settle us demons?"

"The war is over..."

Xiao Xun glanced at him. He knew An Mie's question was about how much benefit he would receive.

This was not an easy question to answer, so after a moment of deliberation, Xiao Xun replied, "We'll see. If we can take down the three elders, their territory will be yours. If we can't, you won't be able to stay in the legion either; you'll have to find a place to survive with your people!"

"You still can't enter Saint Roman for now. A large number of demons will still cause fear among the common people. So, if we can't deal with the three elders this time, how about you temporarily reside in the Kingdom of Winter?"

"No problem."

Upon hearing this, An Mie beamed, "It's settled then, the third elder's territory is mine."

"Hm?" Xiao Xun blinked in surprise, "So confident?"

"Of course. Let's go, Your Highness Swain. Today, I'll show you my hidden reserves!"

Xiao Xun's lips curved slightly, "I'll be waiting."

Delvana and her more than three hundred warriors had arrived long ago, but they had been waiting for Xiao Xun's signal and opportunity. Now that the signal had come, they naturally had to advance without holding back!

Cannons rained down upon the ground, instantly inflicting heavy casualties on the ambushed undead army.

And as Delvana launched her attack, An Mie also immediately put his plan into motion.

Delvana and the warriors were astonished to find that the detection methods that had previously troubled them were now completely ineffective, no longer an obstacle to their advance. Moreover, the guards and demons were now abandoning their posts, disappearing to unknown locations!

This made their progress even smoother, so much so that after three days, they had reached the King of Wrath's stronghold completely unimpeded!
