The Wu-Man allied forces had barely finished dealing with the troublesome beast soldiers when the Saint Roman Army's Northern Ridge cavalry arrived. Nearly a thousand Northern Ridge cavalrymen swept across the battlefield, their immense impact scattering the Man-Wu allied forces and beast soldiers.
King Ziyue, who was driving the demonic beasts, stood at the core of the battlefield between opposing sides and was subjected to pressure from multiple directions. After enduring countless attacks, the demonic beasts collapsed.
Despite King Ziyue's ferocity, he could not leverage any advantage against the dense crowd and was quickly overwhelmed and submerged.
After this battle, the Wu army, which had been at the forefront, was almost annihilated, and most of the beast soldiers scattered like birds and beasts.
The Saint Roman Army pressed its advantage, pursuing the fleeing forces and charging directly into the Bolo Legion.
King of the Barbarians, Sain, had not expected the Saint Roman Army to be so formidable. Without preparation, and disregarding the families within the legion, he did not even have time to call for Madam Milei and his daughter Jessica. He fled into the deep mountains with his defeated soldiers, while Madam Milei and Jessica were trapped in the main camp.
Fortunately, although the Saint Roman Army occupied the Bolo Legion, they did not harm the people within the legion, much to the joy of the generals.
During the campaign against the barbarians, the Saint Roman Army had ventured into the barren lands and suffered heavy losses. Xiao Xun, to prevent the Saint Roman Army from seeking revenge, personally ordered people to guard the Barbarian King's main tent, forbidding anyone from disturbing Madam Milei and her daughter. Simultaneously, notices were posted to apprehend Sain's remaining followers.
At this point, Sain's home was destroyed, and he had nowhere to hide, facing widespread condemnation.
The various tribes that had been bullied by him now held their heads high and scrambled to add insult to injury.
Everyone believed that any tribe that captured Sain might become the future king of the barbarian faction.
Under these circumstances, Sain had virtually no foothold among the barbarians.
After making all arrangements, Xiao Xun led the team in personally pursuing Sain. Sailer Peisi, who had come to break the beast soldiers, remained at the Western Expeditionary Army camp.
However, to cover their tracks, Sailer Peisi disguised herself as a man and served as Xiao Xun's guard, appearing mighty and heroic.
Sain, along with several veteran generals, fought their way out through a hail of attacks and escaped to the rear mountain of the Bolo Legion. Upon counting their numbers, they discovered less than two thousand men remaining by his side. They looked at each other in dismay, speechless.
Lord Magis suddenly realized that his sister and Jessica were still in the legion and exclaimed urgently, "No! Sister and Jessica are still in the main camp!"
Upon hearing this, Sain became greatly alarmed and prepared to return to rescue his wife and children.
Spotan said with a troubled expression, "Brother! Our home is gone, and with only these few brothers, how can we rescue Sister-in-law and the others? Why not... surrender?"
His words made Sain's body tremble. He looked up at the sky, where dark clouds obscured the sun, creating an indescribable sense of oppression. He felt extremely dejected and let out a long roar, "Has heaven abandoned us?"
Before the tribes could begin their onslaught of attacking Sain, internal strife erupted among Sain's own ranks.
The next day at noon, as Xiao Xun was deploying his generals on how to capture Sain, the central army reported, "Report! Lord Magis has captured Sain and his faction and presented them to Lord Svein!"
Xiao Xun smiled casually, "Gentlemen, what do you think?"
Ogarth stepped forward and said, "Lord Svein, your humble servant believes that Lord Magis's surrender this time is sincere! Lord Svein, consider this: we have already taken the Bolo Legion, and Sain's faction has nowhere to go. Internal conflict is only a matter of time."
Aaron said, "Lord Svein, barbarians are cunning and must be guarded against!"
Xiao Xun nodded approvingly, "What Aaron said is reasonable! Felisa, arrange for the executioners to lie in ambush. Once there's a change, immediately apprehend Sain and his faction!"
After making arrangements, he turned back to Aaron and said, "Aaron, personally lead men to welcome Lord Magis."
After Aaron left, Xiao Xun looked at Falu and said, "Watch carefully!"
Falu nodded deeply, "Rest assured, Lord Svein!"
Aaron, leading several hundred personal guards, arrayed himself to welcome Lord Magis's surrendered troops. From afar, they saw Lord Magis and his strong men escorting Sain, Spotan, and a group of Sain's close confidants from a distance. They could even hear Sain's subordinates cursing Lord Magis, and they were whipped by Lord Magis's men from time to time.
Aaron immediately greeted them with a smile and said from afar, "Thank you for your hard work, my lord!"
Lord Magis replied solicitously, "Thank you for leading the way, General."
Aaron nodded and smiled, glancing at the ropes binding Sain and the others. They were bound with iron bars and fastened with tight knots, securing them well. However, the soldiers led by Lord Magis were all armed, though this was understandable.
Aaron immediately said, "My lord, please!"
With that, he led Lord Magis and his group into the army camp, continuing to escort Sain and his confidants towards the tent.
Upon reaching the outside of the tent, Aaron suddenly turned back and said, "My lord, my Lord Svein cannot bear to see long swords and spears. I request that you hand over your weapons."
Lord Magis readily nodded, drew the scimitar from his waist with his left hand, held it level with both hands, and presented it to Aaron.
Aaron smiled calmly and reached out to take it.
Just as Aaron's hand was about to touch the scabbard, a sudden change occurred. Lord Magis abruptly drew the scabbard, which flew outward in an arc. Meanwhile, Lord Magis's sword flashed towards Aaron like lightning.
Although Aaron had been wary of him causing trouble, he was still shocked by Lord Magis's swift movements.
A brilliant light erupted before his eyes. Aaron struck out with his left hand, sword and scabbard together, striking the blinding light with the hilt. With a clang of metal on metal, the light converged instantly.
Lord Magis paused slightly, feeling a surge of energy flow through his weapon into his meridians, causing great discomfort. However, a strange smile appeared on his face.
Aaron felt a surge of energy behind him. Unable to attack, he slightly shifted his body to avoid the energy from behind. It was Lord Magis's scabbard that had spun in the air and returned to his hand, a truly wondrous feat.
It was only for Aaron; anyone else would likely have been injured.
As the two began to fight, clanging sounds could be heard, and four Saint Roman Army armored soldiers swarmed out.
This sudden development shocked the barbarian army. Most were captured by the Saint Roman Army before they could react, while localized skirmishes occurred, but these melees were very small in scale.
Originally, Sain and the others had planned to tie up the main generals tightly to prevent the Saint Roman Army from seeing through their plan, but each had arranged for someone to cut their ropes. Sain's rope was naturally to be cut by Lord Magis.
However, they had not expected that Lord Magis's skill would lead him to encounter a master like Aaron, giving him no opportunity to act.
While Sain and the others could still move their legs, their hands were bound, making it difficult to fight. Coupled with the many masters of the Saint Roman Army, they were soon captured one by one.
Under the combined attack of Aaron and Hekaster, Lord Magis was also quickly captured.
All of Sain's main generals were captured, their faces flushed with shame, bound tightly by the Saint Roman Army, and escorted into the tent.
Upon entering the main tent, he saw Xiao Xun's calm smile: "The Barbarian King said before that if I captured you in your home, you would be convinced. What excuse do you have today?"
Sain's face turned red, yet he still argued forcefully, "This time I came to you myself, not by your skill. How can I be convinced?"
Xiao Xun's brows furrowed slightly, "Once, twice, but not three times. I have captured you six times, and you are still not convinced. When will you finally surrender?"
Sain glared, "If you capture me seven times, I will sincerely surrender! Forever and ever, I will not rebel against the Saint Roman!"
Xiao Xun and Sain stared at each other for a long time, thinking: Good heavens, Barbarian King, do you really want me to reenact the story of 'Seven Captures of Meng Huo'? Very well, then I shall make you lose wholeheartedly.
With that thought, he laughed heartily, "Since your legion is broken, what else do you have to worry about?"
He then shouted loudly, "Guards! Release the Barbarian King and his men!"
This time, no one obstructed them. As Xiao Xun said, Sain had nothing to rely on; releasing him was like letting a stray dog wander without a hiding place.
The Saint Roman generals did not object, but Sain shouted, "Wait!"
