The Trickster King

Chapter 444 The Expensive Red Wine

"Who made these roast whole sheep?" Cailipes pointed at the table.

"Reporting to Your Majesty, I did."

Cailipes turned to the head chef, "What animal is this meat from?"

"Reporting to Your Majesty, it's mutton."

Cailipes suddenly stood up, "Mutton! Where did you get mutton?"

Seeing the Empress so surprised, the head chef thought something was wrong. He trembled and bent down, answering nervously, "Reporting to Your Majesty, we raise over twenty of them in the kitchen."

Cailipes's temples throbbed. She had lived on this planet for over thirty years and had never seen a sheep.

"Alright, you may go!"

The head chef returned to the kitchen, trembling. Seeing Xiao Xun, he patted his chest with lingering fear, "Reporting to Prince Swei'en, I have answered all the questions for Your Majesty as you instructed."

"Did Her Majesty mention me?"

The head chef gently shook his head, "No."

"I see. You may go about your business!"

Cailipes tasted the mutton. The meat was more fragrant than any mutton she had eaten in her modern world. She couldn't help but eat a few more bites. She hadn't eaten properly for days due to handling state affairs.

It wasn't just her; the dukes and ministers were the same. The roast whole sheep was quickly devoured, and many secretly licked their fingers, still wanting more.

Cailipes knew that eating too much of it would cause internal heat, so she told the butler, "Inform the kitchen to serve one every three days. Don't just roast them; research other ways to prepare them."

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

Just as Mu Jiahe was marveling at the taste of the mutton in the bedroom, the door was pushed open, and Xiao Xun entered with a tray.

"Your Majesty, it's still hot..."

Mu Jiahe frowned, "I knew it was you. Tell me honestly, did you bring the sheep from that world?"

"I'm wronged. There are over twenty sheep in the kitchen. How many could I have brought? These sheep were all given to me by Bortu."

"Bortu! You went to the Orc territory?"

Xiao Xun nodded, "I had something to find Bortu for. He insisted I cook him a meal. I asked him what meat he had, and he brought these sheep."

"How did they get sheep?"

"I was curious too. And guess what? These sheep were all officers of the Devil's Legion. They were captured after defeat and ended up like this."

Mu Jiahe sighed, "Such is fate."

"Alright, stop sighing and drink up! I started stewing it as soon as I got back. It's very fresh."

Mu Jiahe picked up a spoon, "I thought you went to the seaside. You didn't come back for two or three days."

"How could I spare the time? You have no idea how busy I am..."

"Alright, I know. Stop explaining."

Mu Jiahe looked up at Xiao Xun, "It's been so long, aren't you going to see your delicate little lover? Aren't you afraid she'll cheat on you?"

Xiao Xun was surprised Mu Jiahe brought her up, "She wouldn't dare, would she?"

"Who can say for sure?"

Xiao Xun looked at her curiously, "Did you hear something?"

Mu Jiahe ate a piece of mutton and took a sip of soup. She stood up and said, "I don't have time to listen to such trivial matters. I just remembered. That's all."

After saying that, she dabbed her mouth with a napkin, put it aside, and praised, "The soup is good."

Xiao Xun kept thinking about Mu Jiahe's words. He had left six Star Emissaries for Salefinny, and then there was Delvana of the Sun God Clan. Would they dare to do anything to betray him under their noses? Absolutely not.

This must be a test from Mu Jiahe, it definitely was.

Xiao Xun changed his clothes and lay down beside Mu Jiahe. "Whatever she wants to do, she can do. It has nothing to do with me."

Mu Jiahe smiled, "So you've been standing there for a long time thinking about this? I just said it casually. Don't take it to heart. As I said, I'm too busy with important matters every day to bother with these trivialities."

Returning to the original time, Mu Jiahe went back to sleep, while Xiao Xun drove to the company early.

The mountain of documents in the office had accumulated for two days. Except for those that were urgently approved and expedited, the rest were left for Xiao Xun.

Xiao Xun looked at the pile and thought, "It's over. Another day will be spent here."

However, the only comfort was that the documents were all marked by his two secretaries, so it wasn't difficult to go through them. He just needed to read the key points and decide whether to sign or not.

While he was busy, a chat window popped up on his computer. It was from the big star.

"President Xiao, are you busy? I've arrived in G City!"

Xiao Xun only saw the chat record when he was about to eat. He quickly replied, "You set the location, I'll be there as soon as possible."

But the avatar on the other end had already turned gray.

Then, Xiao Xun ate his boxed lunch while staring intently at the computer. However, there was still no response. He sent his phone number, waiting for the result.

A moment later, a text message arrived: "8 PM tonight, Grand Continent International Hotel."

Xiao Xun replied with a "good" and began to speed up the document approval process. He didn't even eat dinner. Tonight's appointment was too important, and he didn't want to be late.

"Secretary Fan!"

Hearing Xiao Xun's call, Secretary Fan walked over, "President Xiao, you called me?"

"What's the best wine we have here?"

"Does President Xiao want red or white wine?"

"Red. The best."

"When do you need it?"

"Tonight."

"If you need it tonight, please wait a moment. I'll make a call."

Secretary Fan took out her phone and walked away. Xiao Xun continued to sign documents with his head down.

A moment later, Secretary Fan returned after making the call, "If you need it urgently, the most expensive is Manny Di. The best vintage available now costs 170,000 to 180,000 per bottle."

"Alright, get me two bottles. Charge it to the company."

"Okay."

About three hours later, Secretary Fan came to Xiao Xun with a small black leather case. There was a slip on the case, "Please sign here, President Xiao."

Xiao Xun picked up the pen and wrote his name. He checked the time; it was already past six o'clock, almost seven.

He picked up the black leather case and walked out.

When he drove to the hotel, Xiao Xun was stunned. "Are you kidding me? The news spread too fast! In just a few hours, so many people have come."

Now, both inside and outside the hotel, a large crowd had completely surrounded it. Large signs were held up high. Most of them were young people. At first glance, there were at least several thousand people, including many reporters and streamers.

The hotel security guards were doing their best to maintain order. Without needing to ask, just by looking at the signs they were holding, it was obvious that these were all fan clubs and support groups for the big star Yu Shiwen. It was unclear whether the agency had specifically organized them to create hype and buzz, or if these people were truly this passionate about a celebrity.

Xiao Xun took out his phone and sent a message to the other party: "Your fans are so enthusiastic. It's probably not appropriate for me to go in and find you now!"

The other party replied immediately: "It's not very appropriate. Where are you? I'll come find you!"

Xiao Xun looked around, parked the car near a bronze statue, and sent a photo to the other party. The other party replied, "Wait a moment, I'll be right there."

About five minutes later, a cleaner wearing large black-rimmed glasses opened the passenger door and got in.

Xiao Xun was stunned, "Did you get into the wrong car?"

The cleaner closed the door, took off her hat, glasses, and coat, revealing her smooth long hair and peerless beauty. "President Xiao, we meet again."
