Xue Rengui’s face turned as red as a monkey’s backside upon hearing Fang Er’s question.
“Duke, can we change the subject…” he said awkwardly.
Fang Er: ???
This guy’s response completely baffled him. Why change the subject?
His plan had been ruined just like that, and he couldn’t even ask questions?
Seeing his bewildered look, Su Dingfang couldn’t help but laugh. “Duke, it was Brother Gui. He farted when those guards walked up!”
“You have no idea, his fart was loud and long, like a train.”
“Hahahaha!”
As he spoke, the man clutched his stomach and burst into laughter.
Fang Er: ………
He glared at Xue Rengui, scolding him in anger at his lack of backbone, “You have no responsibility at all, what can I ever let you do in the future?!”
Xue Rengui was so ashamed he wished he could burrow into a crack in the ground. He quickly explained, “Duke, it’s not my fault. It’s the food from the mine that caused this.”
“They definitely did it on purpose. The food they gave us makes you fart!”
Fang Er’s eyes widened. “You’re making excuses? Didn’t I warn you not to eat the mine’s provisions?”
Xue Rengui drooped his head. “I… I was just greedy and wanted to try it…”
Fang Er was too lazy to reprimand him further. Moreover, they still had pursuers to shake off. After giving him another glare, he piloted the spaceship and fled into the distance.
On the desolate planet Ear, not a single tree could be seen. Abandoned mines and lingering mine shafts stretched as far as the eye could see, painting a scene of utter desolation.
If it weren’t for this environment, the four round moons in the sky would have captivated countless young girls on Earth.
A thousand meters behind them, over a dozen Lomor spaceships pursued relentlessly, unleashing energy blasts like raindrops without regard for cost.
The control panel consequently blared with continuous alarms. Fang Er’s divine sense enveloped the entire ship, and the sight of the energy blasts caused him to break out in a cold sweat.
“Damn it, we only stole some Xuangang from you, and you have to try and kill us?”
At such close range, he had no time to deploy any defensive measures. With a resounding boom, the spaceship they were piloting was hit by an energy blast.
A massive hole tore through the entire vessel.
Fortunately, none of the three of them were injured. However, the spaceship was clearly no longer capable of flying.
This was because the blast had directly hit the control console!
With a series of sparks and crackles, the entire spaceship lost control and plummeted straight towards the ground.
This sudden turn of events sent the bodies of the three men tumbling as if weightless, crashing against the cabin walls repeatedly.
Su Dingfang was fortunate enough to be knocked unconscious.
Xue Rengui’s knee was scraped open. Seeing the spaceship still falling and picking up speed, he shouted loudly to Fang Er for help.
“Help… Duke, help me…”
“I haven’t married Sister Han Yao yet, I can’t die!”
Fang Er: ………
Damn it, this guy still had the nerve to shout!
If it weren’t for his fart, how could they have ended up like this!
“Boom!”
Just then, a massive explosion echoed from a distance outside the spaceship.
Fang Er was stunned. In the images relayed by his divine sense, a group of ships of unknown origin were firing upon his pursuers.
Similar blue energy blasts from ion cannons rained down incessantly.
In the blink of an eye, six of the Lomor guard-piloted ships were shot down by this new wave of vessels.
“Duke, help me…”
Xue Rengui’s cries for help once again broke through Fang Er’s bewilderment.
Seeing the spaceship beneath them nearing the ground, he quickly grabbed a pile of mattresses and stuffed them into the entire cabin.
“Bang!”
The spaceship landed, bounced, and then crashed down heavily.
The grating sound of twisting metal made one’s teeth ache.
Fang Er retrieved the mattresses. Su Dingfang was still unconscious but appeared otherwise unharmed.
But Xue Rengui…
Fang Er glanced at him and then burst into triumphant laughter.
“Hahaha, serves you right for that butt of yours! This is karma!”
At that moment, Xue Rengui had a piece of metal rod sticking out of his backside, likely a piece of debris from the ship.
Xue Rengui, who had his eyes opened: ………
Sir Gui was deeply hurt! ~~
Fang Er laughed, tossed him a first-aid kit, and crawled out of the gaping hole in the spaceship.
Under the moonlight, he looked up at the sky. The group of suddenly appearing ships were still engaged in combat with the Lomor ships.
However, these newly arrived ships looked very dilapidated, with obvious welding marks.
Fang Er casually found a rock to sit on, pulled out some sunflower seeds and a beer, and began to watch the battle while tallying his night’s earnings.
In his system’s storage, the Xuangang he had retrieved was neatly stacked, amounting to tens of thousands of tons.
The thought that he hadn’t even explored one percent of the nearly one hundred thousand square meters of storage space made him want to drag Xue Rengui out of the spaceship and beat him again.
If it weren’t for that guy, he would have had at least ten times more Xuangang in his warehouse!
To borrow a refined phrase from Li Yannian, it was like being at the end of one’s rope, with nowhere to turn.
What a disaster!
Damn it!
“Mmm… Duke, what’s the situation now?”
Su Dingfang had woken up at some point. He staggered out of the spaceship, holding his head, and looked at the distant sky with a bewildered expression.
Fang Er knew as much as he did and casually offered his guess.
“I’m not sure. Maybe their enemies found them?”
“Let’s watch the show!”
Saying this, he casually tossed him a bag of sunflower seeds.
Then, Xue Rengui also emerged from the spaceship, limping, with bright red blood dripping from his backside. His face was contorted like a withered chrysanthemum, and he stood beside them dejectedly.
He also wanted to find a rock to sit on, but the situation did not permit it…
The battle in the distance had started with a bang. The suddenly appearing ships seemed to hold nothing back, unleashing their most potent attacks right from the start.
Not only ion cannons but also laser-like weapons.
Furthermore, their numbers were more than double that of the Lomor ships!
Over twenty ships were dominating the remaining few Lomor ships, leaving them with no chance to retaliate.
Just as they were about to completely annihilate the Lomor fleet, another group of ships arrived from the distance – Lomor reinforcements.
“Wow, this scene is way cooler than those American sci-fi blockbusters!”
Fang Er spat out a sunflower seed shell and stared dumbfounded at the aerial battle.
The Lomor reinforcements appeared to use attack methods similar to the unknown ships, also employing ion cannons and laser weapons.
However, their firing rate far surpassed that of the unidentified ships.
The explosions turned the otherwise quiet night into a lively spectacle.
“Stop watching. We should leave while we can!”
Seeing that several of the unidentified ships had been shot down consecutively, Fang Er quickly took out a ‘Tomahawk’ and rode it beneath him, beckoning to Su Dingfang and Xue Rengui.
Without a moment’s hesitation, the two of them sat behind him side-by-side.
The Tomahawk activated, carrying the three of them away from the battlefield.
