Chapter 111 Utterly Disgraceful

The night was as dark as ink, the stars hidden behind a dark curtain, the air carrying a stifling heat.

After Bai Xi called Tong Yao to report she was safe, Tong Yao cried inconsolably on the phone, clearly terrified. Bai Xi wasn't good at comforting people and could only listen silently as Tong Yao vented her emotions for half an hour before she felt a little better.

Returning to her bedroom, she took a hot shower. Just as she stepped out of the bathroom wearing a bathrobe, the butterfly-shaped earrings on her ears lit up again, flashing a blue light.

Bai Xi raised her hand slightly and pressed lightly. Shen Mingxun's voice came from the other side: "God Bai, as you instructed, that case report has been sent to..."

This feeling was somewhat strange. She couldn't be sure if this was love, but she had a feeling that among all the men who had appeared in her life so far, only Han Mo was acceptable. As for the other men... she had no interest in accepting any of them.

Hearing Bai Xi's words, Bai Han's expression remained calm. He simply smiled gently and said, "Little Xi has always been very opinionated. It seems even I can't persuade you."

Bai Xi smiled and replied, "Brother, I've grown up. You don't need to advise me. I know what I'm doing."

Bai Han nodded and gently placed his hand on Bai Xi's freshly washed hair, smiling lightly. "You're all grown up, yet you still don't know to blow-dry your hair soon after washing?"

Bai Xi glanced at her still-dripping hair and raised her eyebrows indifferently. "Don't worry, I'll dry it before I sleep. Brother, if you have nothing else to do, you should go to bed early. You just recovered, you can't afford to be tired."

Bai Han withdrew his hand from Bai Xi's hair, nodded with a smile, and turned to leave.

The door closed. Bai Han walked forward elegantly a few steps, smiling faintly. "Doctor Han, it is truly uncivilized of you to live in our Bai family residence and eavesdrop on our sibling conversation."

As he spoke, Han Mo emerged. His face no longer held its usual gentleness but was instead cold and indifferent. "Then is it not truly despicable of Young Master Bai to try and sow discord between me and my girlfriend in the middle of the night?"

Bai Han smiled, unconcerned. "I am merely concerned about my sister. What is wrong with that? Although Little Xi acknowledges you now, she has not fallen in love with you. If she knew that everything about you, from top to bottom, inside and out, was fake – your identity, your personality, even your deliberate approach to us – do you think she would still be with you?"

As these words were spoken, Han Mo's eyes suddenly became extremely sharp, like a dangerous storm gradually approaching.
