Chapter 380 Your Life Could Be Taken Easily

Hu Wei looked at Tong Yao, whose eyes were wide with surprise, and thought she was scared of him.

Sometimes, men needed to be a little more assertive. It was then that women truly understood fear and submission.

"Miss Bai, as I said before, what do you think of me?"

His target was Bai Xi, though Tong Yao was also quite pretty. However, he had dated several cute girlfriends before. They were fine for a fleeting moment of amusement, but after a week, they became boring.

Therefore, he wanted Bai Xi's answer.

Bai Xi looked at the man before her, her gaze as indifferent as ever. "Mr. Hu, is it? I think you... make me feel disgusted."

Honestly, she had originally intended to give him some face since Tong Yao brought him. She wanted to clarify things and be done with it. She never expected him to threaten Tong Yao; he was clearly unappreciative of her goodwill!

Hu Wei clearly hadn't expected Bai Xi to say that. He immediately became enraged and slammed his hand on the table, rising to his feet. "You!"

This woman dared to call him disgusting!

No woman had ever spoken to him like that. He had never suffered such an insult!

The table was struck with such force that the plates on it jolted slightly, emitting a crisp clatter. Tong Yao, startled by this sudden movement, subconsciously took a step back.

However, Bai Xi remained utterly unfazed.

She calmly watched the fuming Hu Wei, then leisurely picked up her wine glass and downed the contents in one go.

The wine... while not a premium vintage, she found it quite palatable.

Hu Wei had expected his actions to frighten Bai Xi and make her regret her words. Unfortunately, that did not happen. She didn't even flinch.

If calling him disgusting was an insult of the first degree, her current disregard for him was an insult of a deeper level.

Due to Hu Wei's considerable movement, it immediately attracted the attention of the nearby diners, and whispers erupted.

"So what then?"

"I think I just heard the woman in the long red dress reject the man opposite her. The man is furious."

"Ha, seriously? Isn't rejecting someone perfectly normal? According to Chinese law, you can't force a sale if it hasn't even been offered. How can you force someone into a relationship?"

A man said with a look of disdain, "Not necessarily. Perhaps the woman is just a cheap tramp! Maybe she's been leading this guy on, and he's spent a lot of money without getting anything, which is why he's angry now."

A woman at an adjacent table overheard. "Money, money, money! Is all you men think about is money? Can everything be connected to money? This young lady, judging by her attire and demeanor, is clearly from a wealthy background. Why would she be after this man's money!"

The man sneered, "Ha? Attire, demeanor? Who knows where her money comes from, and if it's even legitimate!"

The woman gritted her teeth and, with a flick of her wrist, splashed a glass of red wine onto the man. "Slandering someone without evidence, what kind of person are you? It's disgraceful that a man like you is in a restaurant like this, wearing fake designer clothes to pretend to be rich. I didn't want to expose you, but you just had to come looking for trouble!"

She then turned to the woman opposite the man and said, "Little girl, apart from that belt, nothing else he's wearing is real. Also, the diamond ring he just gave you is fake! He's just putting on a show as a wealthy man in this high-end restaurant to trick you."

Hearing this, the man's face instantly turned anxious. "I'm warning you, don't speak nonsense!"

The woman retorted fearlessly, "My family deals in jewelry and luxury goods. I can tell genuine from fake at a glance. If you take that ring to any jewelry store, they'll authenticate it for you. Not only is the diamond fake, but the setting is also fake. That man is violent and rude, and you are hypocritical and deceptive, preying on wealth and lust. You're birds of a feather, helping each other out. Men like you are truly detestable!"

The man, flustered and attempting to explain, looked up at the woman opposite him, only to have a steak slapped onto his face. She then stormed off indignantly.

The women around them chimed in with further agreement. "Liars and abusive men are the worst!"

"Right, neither of these men are any good."

"Indeed, not even a dog would talk to these two men!"

Hu Wei, already feeling offended, now hearing the surrounding discussions, turned even redder with anger!

He understood. This woman before him was asking for a beating!

There were always some women in this world who were self-righteous and dared to provoke men. It was truly unbearable!

As this thought crossed his mind, he could no longer control his rage. He reached out directly to grab Bai Xi's neck. He imagined how he would teach Bai Xi a lesson. Would he choke her until her face turned ashen, or would he slap her twice, turning her exquisite and beautiful face into a swollen mess?

The person before him simply vanished from his sight.

His outstretched hand grasped nothing but air. Instead, his prior movement caused him to lean forward, directly crashing into the dining table. Though he didn't fall completely onto it, his black suit was stained with steak sauce.

As he stared in disbelief, a voice suddenly sounded in his ear, "Mr. Hu described me as graceful, elegant, beautiful, and charming. I don't deny those things. But innocent and kind... Mr. Hu might be overestimating. I am, in fact... someone who is bloodthirsty and holds grudges!"

As the words fell, a hand firmly pressed down on Hu Wei's shoulder. The movement was exceptionally elegant, yet it directly slammed him onto the table. Using his body as a pivot point, it forcefully broke the thick wooden table in half.

Food, plates, and glasses crashed to the floor with crisp sounds, stunning everyone who witnessed it.

The waiter, upon seeing the scene, was too frightened to approach. Although she knew she should inquire about the situation and demand compensation, she wondered...

Would she end up like the person in front of her if she went forward?

Bai Xi stood in place, casting a faint glance at Hu Wei. "Don't provoke a girl you've just met so readily. Don't challenge someone with unwarranted arrogance. She may not be as pliable or easily manipulated as you imagine. She might very well end your life with ease."

Hu Wei lay in the middle of the broken table, a picture of dishevelment, covered in food stains, yet seemingly unharmed.

He felt no physical pain, only sheer terror.

Without a doubt, this seemingly delicate and frail woman was no pushover. She was a formidable character.

If she could shatter this solid mahogany table through his body, then breaking his spine would likely be easier than snapping a toothpick. He had provoked such a person!

At this thought, he couldn't control himself and trembled. An odor that should not be present in a restaurant began to spread throughout the dining area.
