For over half an hour, Uncle Gun and the others had been locked in a grueling struggle. They had no idea how many blows they had endured or how many of Uncle Gun’s precious demon-hunting bullets—normally rationed one by one—had been wasted.

Yet, they hadn’t even managed to scratch the War Demon’s skin. But now, Wei Wei’s single shot had pierced through the War Demon’s chest and abdomen, creating a gaping hole. The group was stunned by this unexpected turn of events, their joy almost impossible to contain.“Bastard…”The next moment, the War Demon let out an earth-shattering roar. Its entire body surged with power, its demonic energy materializing into a tangible force that blasted Uncle Gun and Sen Sen several meters away. The demon clenched its fists and struck the bloody hole in its chest and abdomen with brutal force, as if the pain wasn’t enough—it seemed to crave even greater agony to fuel itself.“Come here and face me head-on!” it bellowed at Wei Wei in the distance, its voice filled with fury as it stomped down on a massive chunk of concrete, sending it hurtling toward him like a missile. This was another hallmark of the War Demon: combat supremacy. When consumed by rage, War Demons could suppress injuries and other negative effects entirely, ensuring they didn’t impact their current state. Although this would lead to severe backlash after the battle ended, that was a problem for later—after all, for them, nothing mattered more than the fight itself. This was similar to how Sen Sen could suppress her own weakness caused by illness.Wei Wei gritted his teeth and reached for the scythe strapped to his waist. At that moment, anger welled up within him as well—a fiery resolve to throw everything into a life-or-death clash with this War Demon. This was yet another ability of the War Demon: War Declaration.War Demons weren’t skilled at long-range attacks and couldn’t guard against various sneak attacks or ambushes. However, they possessed their own unique power: War Declaration. This ability compelled enemies within a certain range to succumb to their inner rage and engage them in direct combat—just as war allowed no retreat or avoidance. The only options were complete surrender or fighting until the bitter end.“Ah!”And so it happened.Wei Wei allowed the massive chunk of concrete to crash into the car in front of him but leaped into action immediately afterward. He reached for his scythe, which was now entangled with crimson threads of blood energy. Like a reaper in the dead of night, he charged forward at lightning speed.“Kid—!”Uncle Gun and the others shouted in alarm but were too late to stop him.“You’re courting death!”)The War Demon’s face twisted into a hideous grin as it saw Wei Wei’s crimson silhouette brandishing the massive scythe and closing in rapidly. One hand shot out like lightning, aiming straight for Wei Wei’s neck. However, just as Wei Wei drew near, a sinister smile crept across his face—a smile that sent chills down even the War Demon’s spine.Wei Wei wasn’t being forced forward by the War Declaration. He had come willingly.Transforming into a corpse could block most mental attacks.Wei Wei didn’t use this ability to shield himself from the War Declaration because he had already decided to charge forward. In an instant, the War Demon’s hand reached for his neck.No matter how fast Wei Wei was or how sharp his reflexes, the War Demon’s strike was both swift and vicious, stopping just short of grabbing his neck. It looked as if Wei Wei had deliberately run up to offer his throat. At that moment, Wei Wei’s pupils contracted sharply.Consciousness Bullet. As the War Demon reached out, a strange thought surfaced in its mind: The crimson scythe looks delicious. It felt an urge to lean forward and lick it. The demon quickly snapped out of it but still tilted its head slightly forward.Wei Wei was a tier lower than the War Demon, so the power of his Consciousness Bullet was greatly reduced. Additionally, the War Demon’s War Aura diminished the effects of negative influences during combat. What could have completely overwhelmed another opponent only caused the War Demon to tilt its head slightly.Using this brief moment of distraction, Wei Wei ducked and swung his blood-red scythe upward. The blade sank into the wound on the War Demon’s abdomen and began twisting rapidly, slicing horizontally through flesh and muscle. What the hell? The War Demon was shocked—he had never seen such a strange ability before.Despite this sudden setback, he roared and spun his body in sync with Wei Wei’s motion to minimize damage while raising a fist to smash down on Wei Wei’s head.War Intimidation. No one doubted the devastating power of this punch; its sheer force could crush anyone into pulp. Those with weaker resolve might even convince themselves that being turned into minced meat was inevitable—and if they thought so, it would certainly happen. This was why Sen Sen had warned earlier: “You can’t be afraid when facing a War Demon.”The stronger your fear, the stronger their power becomes. As the fist descended, Wei Wei suddenly raised his head to meet the War Demon’s gaze. His expression startled the demon—it wasn’t fear but excitement that shone in his eyes. There wasn’t even a trace of terror on Wei Wei’s face; instead, it radiated exhilaration and joy from deep within him.Crack!Wei Wei raised his left arm to block the punch. A sickening crack echoed as his arm shattered under the force, followed by his shoulder blade splintering as well. The blow sent fragments of bone cascading through his body like shrapnel.Yet despite this devastating injury, the War Demon felt both shock and fury—this punch should have reduced him to paste! Instead, it had merely broken an arm? How could this be?!He couldn’t accept it—he couldn’t accept an opponent who showed no fear whatsoever! With a furious roar that bordered on madness, he stepped forward with immense force, glaring at Wei Wei with eyes that seemed to burn with hatred.Clatter!Within those gray eyes swirled countless black phantoms—wailing and struggling souls trapped within them. These were spirits of those killed by the War Demon, eternally imprisoned within his gaze. This was War Sacrifice, a fourth-tier ability unique to War Demons. At this stage of power, abilities begin to accumulate “attributes.” For War Sacrifice, this meant trapping every soul he killed within his eyes for all eternity—a process that imbued his gaze with unimaginable mental pressure over time.At that moment, he focused his gaze entirely on Wei Wei.It felt as though those eyes had been closed until now and were opening for the first time—releasing an overwhelming torrent of wailing souls that flooded outward in all directions.War Wraiths. These spectral entities served as pets bound by War Sacrifice, capable of dragging everything around them into their master’s mental prison."Litttle Wei..."Uncle Gun, who had been charging forward, and Sen Sen, halfway through her own charge, were instantly repelled by the surge of wraiths.Wei Wei had already wounded this War Demon upon his first strike. They had even glimpsed the possibility of expanding the wound and increasing their odds of victory—only for the situation to reverse in an instant.Everyone knew the horrific consequences of being targeted by a War Demon.Even Sen Sen, part of the same War Demon system, dared not meet its gaze. As a mere War Mentor who hadn’t begun accumulating power, their mental strengths were incomparable.Endless War Wraiths coiled around Wei Wei. His ears filled with wails, pleas, screams, and countless pitiful voices begging him to surrender to war. They clawed at him with all their strength, trying to drag him into their prison. The wraiths transformed into invasive thoughts, violently drilling into his mind.Just as Wei Wei seemed about to be overwhelmed, he suddenly grinned."Don’t bother trying to pressure me. My mind’s already crammed full..." Wei Wei’s voice rose from a murmur to a roar, followed by a deranged laugh.Yes.Since awakening his Scarlet Power ) entering the training camp, and enduring every subsequent trial, his nights had been haunted by demonic whispers. His mind was perpetually occupied by memories of that little white dress. There wasn’t a single moment of emptiness—leaving no room for external mental assaults. There’s simply no space left.Amid his laughter, his eyes narrowed. "Besides... ghosts...""I’ve got those too!"Before finishing, he ripped open the black backpack on his back. From the swarm of gray-black War Wraiths, a blood-red figure shot forward. The Ghost Lady, her body entwined with crimson threads, phased through countless wraiths and lunged at the War Demon."What the hell?!"The War Demon recoiled in shock. Not only was Wei Wei still smiling amidst the wraiths, but now this... thing had latched onto his face! He swiped at it, but his hand passed through empty air.The Ghost Lady raked her scarlet claws across his face—though it caused no physical harm.As the War Demon tensed to shake her off, a cold sensation pierced his lower abdomen.Bang!Wei Wei had exploited the distraction to shove his gun into the demon’s gut. With no time to recharge his Scarlet Power, he fired a single bullet—a Red Angel round pre-loaded in the chamber.A third-model demon-hunting bullet. A specialized plasma round was so expensive, one could trade it for an armored Jeep. And it wasn’t fired externally—it detonated inside the wound. The War Demon staggered back, red electricity crackling from the hole in his torso. Serpentine currents writhed beneath his skin, illuminating his ribs through charred flesh.Boom! The demon roared in agony but instinctively retaliated with a knee strike. Despite the close range, the motion generated a thunderous sonic boom.Crack!Wei Wei met the strike with his own knee. The collision shattered his kneecap, yet his expression remained unchanged. He lunged forward, aiming his pistol at the wound again. This time, it wasn’t a Red Angel. He only had three of those, and he’d used one already. The second shot was a Green Head Ghost  round. With his silver rifle still draining disease energy, Wei Wei relied on his black pistol. Every bullet choice mattered. The Green Head Ghost round exploded in the demon’s abdomen. Green flames erupted amidst the red lightning, turning his insides into a hellscape."Damn you!!"The War Demon swung a fist at Wei Wei, who met it with a punch of his own.Snap!Wei Wei’s arm fractured, but he refused to retreat. His other hand kept pulling the trigger.Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!Bullet after bullet tore into the demon’s gut, sapping its colossal strength."Little Lin!"Little Lin arrived, hauling a heavy machine gun. Wei Wei wanted to take it himself, but his shattered bones crackled ominously. He glanced at Uncle Gun, who shouted, "Give it here!" and leapt to catch the weapon mid-air. Wei Wei then hurled his backpack to Uncle Gun.Emerald-tipped rounds spilled out, gleaming ominously.Uncle Gun crouched, smoothly loading the machine gun. His movements were flawless.Click.Wei Wei’s pistol ran dry. Uncle Gun immediately tossed the machine gun toward him. The throw was perfectly calculated—Wei Wei caught it with his remaining arm, jammed the barrel into the demon’s wound, and pulled the trigger.Brrrrrrt—!A storm of Green Demon  rounds, interspersed with occasional Green Head Ghost bullets, ravaged the demon’s insides. The War Demon’s roar shook the unfinished building. For the first time, it experienced inhuman agony. It fumbled for a life serum but had it shot to pieces by Uncle Gun before the needle could pierce its skin.In desperation, it charged Wei Wei, its body warping into a metallic monstrosity. But as it lunged—Vrooom!Sen Sen’s motorcycle roared in, her conical spear plunging into its wound. The momentum lifted the demon into the air before pinning it to a wall with a thud!"Is it over?"The group stared at the impaled demon. Its life force faded rapidly...But then—Crack! The demon’s near-lifeless head jerked up. Its limp arm rose and smashed the spear shaft. Sen Sen was flung backward, saved only by her motorcycle swerving to catch her."Not... over..."The War Demon gripped the spear, wrenching it from its body. Charred entrails slid from its abdomen as it staggered forward, still clutching the weapon."Is this monster immortal?!"Though they’d faced it at full strength, seeing it cling to life now stirred dread in the group."War doesn’t end—demons don’t die..."Meanwhile, Wei Wei stood. His unhealed injuries and shattered bones were sutured by scarlet threads. He gripped his bloodied scythe and advanced, his smile widening. The War Demon’s tenacity was terrifying, but Wei Wei understood: War Demons refuse to die mid-battle unless forced into despair or surrender.Or perhaps it was already dead—still fighting beyond death."Come. Let’s continue..." The demon dragged itself forward, spear in hand."Bring it on!" Wei Wei roared, raising his scythe. His body was a patchwork of bloody sutures, but his eyes blazed with excitement—no fear.Fear means defeat.Even with his life force nearly spent and bones shattered, he’d fight.Honk! Honk!Headlights flashed as a massive concrete mixer truck  plowed into the demon, smashing it into the mall wall.Ye Feifei stumbled out of the driver’s seat, pale: "Oh no... Did I just kill someone?"
