Chapter 382: Chapter 383: My Man, Who Dares to Take Him? (Part 7)

When someone tries to snatch her man right in front of her, why should she endure any longer?

As Mu Ruyue stepped into the courtyard of the Dean Mansion, she happened upon an old man just coming out from a room. He took a couple of steps and upon seeing the briskly approaching woman, he first paused, then quickly advanced towards her with joy.

“Girl, have you decided to accompany me to the back mountain?”

Mu Ruyue raised an eyebrow and replied with a faint smile, “I recall you owe me a favor. If you help me with this task, I’ll join you to the back mountain.”

“Haha, don’t worry. Even if it’s not just one task but ten, this old man will satisfy you.”

What a joke, having the honor to establish a connection with this woman who could possibly be the reincarnation of Moon Venerate?

“I need your help finding a place,” Mu Ruyue said with a hint of focus in her eyes and a glint of light flashing through them. “This place is within a secret chamber, containing a coffin made out of thousand-year-old cold ice, and the chamber itself is forged from meteorite iron and red crystal.”

“Meteorite iron and red crystal?” The Dean furrowed his brow, which quickly relaxed, “Rest assured, girl. I’ll first inquire about these two materials for you, and I’ll let you know as soon as I have any news.”

“Good,” she nodded slightly.

Mu Ruyue nodded faintly.

It made more sense to utilize the powers at hand to seek Nangong Zifeng’s prison for the darling than blindly searching the Central Continent.

Meanwhile, in a courtyard not far from the Academy, a man looked up at the sky. A breeze swept by, his ink-black hair billowing. His face, sharp as a knife, emitted a cold and ruthless aura.

“It’s been so long, I wonder if the brother-in-law has found Yue’er.”

Xiao Feng’s dark eyes sank slightly with an unusual emotion crossing his cold gaze.

“My lord, the Third Master requests your presence,” came a voice from behind.

The voice brought Xiao Feng back to his senses. Without a word, he turned and walked towards the front hall.

In the grand hall, a middle-aged man sat sternly in a chair, a cup of tea beside him still steaming slightly. As he saw the man approaching, his gaze turned strict and severe, “Xiao Feng, although father has allowed you to return to the Xiao Family, not everyone in our family acknowledges you. Do you understand?”

Xiao Luo didn’t know what father had been thinking.

More than half a year ago, he left home to travel and inadvertently came across this man. With father’s strength, he could sense the bloodline power within the other’s body and thus recognized this man bore the Xiao Family’s bloodline at a glance.

Having no idea what they discussed, father took a liking to this young man immediately and even went to great lengths to invite him back to the Xiao Family—

You must know that Xiao Feng was a descendant of the one who had been banished from the Xiao Family, the one deemed a failure!

If the Ancestor Elders in the Xiao Family’s Back Mountain were to find out, it would probably cause an earthquake. Those recluses always despised the once-genius who became a failure!

Xiao Feng’s eyes were cold as he silently regarded the middle-aged man before him.

If it weren’t for needing the Xiao Family’s help in finding his sister’s whereabouts, he wouldn’t have agreed to come to the Xiao Family at the old man’s request. Nothing was more important than finding his sister…

“I, Xiao Feng, do not need your approval!” he stated coldly, looking at Xiao Luo.

Xiao Luo’s face changed, then he scoffed coldly, “Xiao Feng, I don’t know why father values you, but let me be blunt; your ancestors were already expelled from the Xiao Family, you’re not supposed to be one of us. It’s out of pity that father allowed you to return to our family. However, you should not covet the position of Xiao Family Patriarch. Don’t think just because father protects you, you truly belong to the Xiao Family. Our family has always set high standards, and one careless step could lead to your death!”
